Chapter 2 - Mute

Leilanie stared at the unconscious woman lying on the floor who was the very reason why she lost her two brothers.

10 years ago, her brother Daryl died because he sacrificed himself so that Deneza could survive, and 7 years later, Deneza killed his brother Shawn for some unknown reason.

She still remembers Deneza's indifference when she admitted her inhuman action. If it wasn't for lack of evidence, Deneza should have lived in jail for the rest of her life. She did not even spend a day in prison because she was under the age of 18. Even for her admission, the court did not believe her because at that time Deneza had a mental breakdown and was proclaimed not guilty.

But Leilanie believed it was all an act to prevent Deneza from going to jail. Moreover, underground matters cannot be surfaced and must remain in the dark. She only comes to understand about the rules 3years ago.

The connection from the underground is truly breathtaking. It was so profound and deeply rooted that even the government cannot do anything. It was so deep that it couldn't be broken down easily.

Although she only has a little memory with her brother Daryl since he went missing when they were younger compared to her brother Shawn, who was with her until the day he died, she still remembers how both of her twin brothers treated her like a princess.

She tossed the wood and started hitting Deneza. Yes, she hated that woman to the core, but her conscience told her not to kill because she knew her two brothers would never let their younger sister turn into a murderer.

She completely lost her mind as she kept beating her while her tears were falling from her darkened eyes.

"Stop it." A cold and powerful voice rang which pulled her out from her sanity and from what she was doing. Leilanie turn around to find the origin of the voice.

"Nine..." She said, staring at the man standing at the door. "What brings you here?" She asked.

"Haven't I already told you that you don't need to wander through the dark? Your brother Shawn will be saddened to find out what his beloved little sister has become." He let out a deep sigh, "As your brother, I will feel sad as well" He said in a playful way while shaking his head.

"I will never become a murderer like her and I don't want to make my brothers feel sad because of me." Leilanie coldly said with her eyes full of hatred.

She hasn't given much thought to what he said since he's been like this since the day she met him.

'Nine' raised his right eyebrow and said "Hoh? Then mind to tell me what's your plan for bringing her here? Obviously you are trying to kill her." He looks at Deneza as he kneeled down and check on her.

"She has a fever" He murmured, and a glint flashed in his eyes and it disappeared as quickly as it was appeared. "It never occurred to me that you would be the sadistic type woman, Leilanie."

"What I did was nothing compared to what she did to my brothers." She said with anger.

"Hasn't the court declared that she wasn't guilty?" He said casually as he shrugged his shoulder.

Leilanie snorted and said, "Who could possibly believe she had mental breakdown?"

"Well, the court believes it" He tilted his head "Well, the medical test can be faked too" He said and was carefully untying the rope in Deneza's hand.

"Of course, it's obviously an act... What are you doing?" Leilanie suddenly asked when she realized what he was doing.

'Nine' gave no response to her question and continues to loosen the ropes in Deneza's hand.

Leilanie widens her eyes when she sees the stuff he got inside his black jacket. "You... What are you? Doreamon? How come you have an IV Drip inside your jacket?" She asked with bewilderment.

"It has become a habit of mine to carry something like this. Just in case something happens to me." He said as he shrugged his shoulder and said without looking at her "Who would have thought that I was going to use this right now?"

She knitted her eyebrows and said "Happens to you? Are you even able to inject yourself with an IV drip, single-hand?"

"Who said you could only inject IV drip on your hands? You know, you can use your feet as well." He said calmly.

Leilanie could not refute this because she was not a doctor like him who was entitled as a Youngest Underground Doctor.

After he injected the drip into her right back hand, he carried her and laid her on the table because there is neither bed nor couch.

"Why does it look like you care about her well-being?" She made some casual comments.

He looks at her and smirked "Care? Me? Even if it's just a joke, it's no laughing matter. I'm just doing this to prevent her from dying."

She only closed her eyes and refused to respond.

He continues, "Well, you can tell me to stop if you truly want her to die and turn into a murderer. Then I will stop. You see, I'm only doing this solely because of your brother relationship with Shawn."

After not receiving any response from her he shook his head as he looked upon Deneza's other injuries.

Looking at the bruises and wounds on her arms, Leilanie really did vent her hatred today on Deneza. It is quite surprising that she has not gone too far. Not close enough for Deneza to die.

"You have a future as an artist" He made a sarcastic remark

"Well, duh!" She rolled her eyes as she heard his remark.

"You have not hit any of her vitals and she has no major internal injuries. Your violence caused her fever to get worse." He said while giving her an acupuncture treatment that was good for blood circulation and minor internal bleeding.

"She won't die from it." Leilanie coldly said as she looked at Deneza with her eyes full of hatred and added, "She deserves a beaten up by me."

"Well, to be honest, she deserves a beating from brother Daryl. If brother Daryl finds out that she killed his twin brother Shawn, just how disappointed was he to her? The sacrifice of my brother Daryl to this thankless woman becomes a joke. She should be the one who died, not Brother Daryl. It would be better if it was her who was stabbed instead of Shawn. It would be best if her mental breakdown were true." She unconsciously bluttered out and paused to take a breath.

After she collected her cool, she added, "She deserves eternal suffering. She does not have the right to live happily and comfortably."

"Leilanie, nobody would say you're mute if you don't speak." 'Nine' said in a calm voice.
