Chapter 9 - The Young Chief

Azalias woke up with a groan, his face was vividly distorted from excruciating pain, gritting his teeth, he opened his eyes while mumbling "Ahhhhh! That princess was quite ferocious, she nearly stabbed me to death, that even after waking up, I am still feeling immense pain."

Exerting a long painful sigh, the young man closed his eyes again to relax his nerves a bit more, just as he scrunched shut his eyes and knitted his brows together, he felt cold, as the bed was as hard as a stone and cold as an iceberg. He nervously yet suspiciously touched the bed, to his horror that wasn't his comfy mattress rather it was a stone bed resembling the sacrificial stone.

He tried to jump off the bed, but just as he attempted, the pain in his lower abdomen where the princess had stabbed him several times increased around tenfold, he howled in extreme pain, "Ahhhh... ooh...."

Pressing the wounded area, he sat down on the bed slowly. While he was pressing the wounded area, he felt like his lower abdomen was bandaged and it was wet. His nostrils twitched, yes, he acknowledged this smell, it was very familiar to his senses, it was fresh blood.

To confirm his thoughts he touched the wet area again and brought his fingers close to the nostrils and confirmed his hunch. He became stunned, was he still dreaming? Was he still in the dreamland which was more likely the worst nightmare of his life?

He mumbled in a daze "What's happening to me? Am I still in the dream? If I am, then why the hell is the pain so intense? No, no, something is wrong. I have to find out what the heck is happening to me?"

Azalias stood up with difficulty. He tried to find something, someone or a door, but the room was dark, he couldn't see a thing, so he had to search without any consciousness of his surroundings.

While searching aimlessly, because of over blood loss or something else he felt dizzy, he felt like his head was spinning, the world around him was moving round and round and suddenly, some unknown scene started to flash in his mind like a fading memory or perhaps a recent flashback.

He panicked more, he didn't know how those unknown memories came to him, those memories had one thing in common, elves. In the moment of panic, dizziness, Azalias was staggering to and fro for some support. He stumbled on something and fell down hitting his head onto something hard, he lost his consciousness again.

-------------------------------------

Meanwhile, in a black forest, five black-armored elven men were being bombarded with magic spells and arrows by eight orange color-armored elven men.

The five black-armored elven men's skin was a bit darker than normal elves, their ears were a bit longer and wider, two of them had fangs out from the corner of their mouth. And the orange color-armored elven men, they had an insignia on the chest of the armor, which was designed as a star, a sun and a moon were inside of a circle and the circle was inscribed on a watchtower symbol, it was the insignia of the Eldarin Court Watchers.

After killing all of the black-armored elven men, all of them plopped down on their butt and heaved heavy sighs of relief. Though they were able to kill all of the black-armored elven men, they also sustained severe injuries and lost six soldiers, in the end only four soldiers could survive the battle.

At the same time, Another team consisting of ten elven men who were wearing golden-colored armor came out from the nearby path. They also had almost similar insignia like the Eladrin Court Watchers, but the difference was that in their insignia there was no watchtower sign. When the team came to the view, all the four tattered elven men knelt with difficulty and shouted, "We pay respects, Young chief, your highness..."

"Report." The young chief held his head aloof and interrupted sternly.

"Yes, Your highness. There were a total of six people, we were ten. We have lost six, two ellons and four elleths. All of the dokkalfars have been killed, five ellons and an elleth."** The leader of the team reported respectfully while bowing his head. They were the eladrin court's warriors posted at the watchtowers in the black forest. They were all low-level warriors, they were posted there to surveillance, and to use as the first line of defense, but everyone knew that they were just cannon fodders.

"So, You have lost six just to kill six of those abhorrences? Trash! If I knew I wouldn't have brought you along." The young chief rebuked them arrogantly.

"Your highness, they were..."

"You dare to reprimand the young chief!" A young Ellon rushed to the team leader and slapped his left cheek hard. The impact of the slap was so much that the team leader couldn't keep his balance and fell to the ground to the direction of the slap, he hurriedly stood up and knelt, bowing his head to the ground he said, "This lowly one made a mistake, please forgive this lowly one, your highness."

"Alsten, don't waste your breath upon the unworthy being like them. Inquire about the situation on Alfgeir's side." Though the young chief said those words indifferently, in his heart he was quite pleased by Alsten's action.
