If a gamer invites you to 'pair up' or rather to be with them, should I remind you that that person wanted you in her/his party; which is their top priority. Being in a party benefits these individuals in more than many ways. For an example, experiences received upon leveling up are shared between raids and other miscellaneous objectives. Drops, depending on the efforts of the players, would be evenly shared upon achievements. Last but not the least are the information link where players can share their abilities, contact them, usage of items, information (this includes status effects, status points health bars, mp, experience bar and levels) and job enhancements are equally shared. These advantages cannot be absorbed when a member of a party has been kicked or left the group (including the added job.
Zero has questions that are yet to be answered and one thing's for sure, it was his gamer's interests. One of those few inquiries are "involving someone inside a party" and the "objective system". He needed to test these theories out whether or not that his menu could open a gate to ease his grinding (a way of leveling up faster) techniques that could strengthen himself like in the RPG (role playing games) he had been playing; and the best way to test that out was inviting someone in a party.
"Would you like to pair up with me" Zero asks. He never had any chances on asking a 'real' friend out to play nor in a party. His grade school life was hectic. Putting up a mask just so the people around him could be entertained and to be enlisted as a part of their 'social group' during school hours. It was never fun for him but rather
It was tiring.
Nonetheless, chanting different topics that could be hardly addressed as important and different pranks that had been led by rascal boys at his age earning various amounts of attention and ridicules sickens his ears.
During Zero's free time, he takes out his antique phone and would watch or play different games available in his generation; as an observer or a player. He would have fun learning different strategies and gameplay as a valuable profit for his time, hoping to be better.
Looking back, his grade school memories are both haunting and satisfying, from all the games he had seen but with little amount of money he could account for, he was limited to watch those highly rated games.
"Zero? Are you there?" a smooth thin hand waves right across his face. It was Dr.XIe calling for Zero's attention.
"You've been staring a lot, shifting your gaze between me and Lilith then suddenly you asked her" Dr. Xie pointed out her finger to the student who was seating besiding me, covering her face from embarrassment"
Tilting her face, she shifted her fingers and rested her chin innit making an intellectual pose of either thinking or gazing beyond from the unknown
Which was myself. She was studying my weird existence.
Lilith sneakily took a glimpse on Zero, gathering up her courage from the nervousness she had shown from everyone inside the room
"Allow me to speak, Zero. Although you had saved my life that doesn't mean I am obliged to hang out with you. I advise you to not treat a woman's heart easily." With a fluttering heart, gazing her head down below, her icy tone didn't match up her performance; shyly expressing her thoughts.
She had a point thought… but
That wasn't his purpose.
Lilith was in fact above average in terms of her appearance and overall ability to cope things around her. She's an honourable student inside Warford's university and the youngest daughter of the famous Sinclair medical company. Why would I guy like him, who has zero experiences from either talking or dating a girl, would hit on Lilith who was above his tier?
Zero was confused by the irruptive response but believed Lilith had the misunderstood everything he had said. Zero was just inviting Lilith to be in her party….
Recalling his foolish remarks, Zero wavered his hands, gesturing it was all a misunderstanding
"nonono, you got it all wrong, Lilith. Are you interested partying with me?"
Confused, Lilith just sat there, gazing on the pupils to the guy who blurted out words which she couldn't comprehend
"Party? You mean celebrations?" she asked
"Not those! Party, you and me, battling inside the labyrinth together?" stopping midway as Zero's point never crossed Lilith's brain, making her understand completely new jargons of a gamer.
Zero sighed in defeat as he knew Lilith couldn't grasps the gist from what he was saying
"Anyhow, both of you should just head home today. Your parents might be worried about you guys staying around school for nearly 2 days." Glancing on the clock, hoping that the watch overhead could state that it was still early for them to leave their comfortable beds in the infirmary
The clock strikes at 12 which made the two students twitched their eyes showing of annoyance that the time had betrayed both of them.
Apparently, he was asleep, resting, for 2 days straight without informing his mother while Lilith rested for about 30 hours prior from her surgery. Zero rushed through the door, waving his hands up high
"I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye Lilith, Bye Dr!" as he rushes out from the infirmary, leaving the two girls behind.
Lilith reaches her hand and tries to stop him but to no avail. Zero was too fast, bursting outside, making such a scene similar from a burglar trying to escape the police running from his life the school ground.
"Crap, what would my mum say after seeing these bruises. I don't know who's scarier, my mum or the dark deceptions. Aaah, I don't know anmore"
He rummages his hair, annoyed from everything that had happened, and sprints his way towards his home.
