The wyvern sprung into action. Taking advantage of its large body, the dragon slams its physique beneath the two figures;
But to no avail.
Zero swiftly veer to his sides, avoiding the impact made by the dragon. Remarkably, he's still on his feet and the two of them are unscathed, watching their enemies next move.
"Splendid! But please, dont forget about me"
The leader stepped forward, pointing his wand towards Zero.
Large figures of magic circles, along with rustling sounds, appears on the ground. As the sound ceased to stop, scorching brine could be seen rummaging from underground causing the floor to quake under a magnitude level of 5.
As the salty water raises up, the leader swings his wand in a twirling rotation; as if he was forcing the liquids to attack the targets infront of him
"Adam's ale!"
He shouted with anger. Pirouetting arrays of water dashes through a line, directed to Zero and the girl.
He knew he couldn't dodge the brimming waters this time. It was pure luck and reflex when he tried avoiding the dragon's strike, but right now
He can not afford this blitz. Moreover, the wyvern charges a black energy ball through its mouth, causing everyone in the field to feel an enormous eerie presence of 'death'.
Zero shuts his eyes, as if trying to accept his death right before him.
What else...can he do?
"I'm sorry... i can't save you now"
With a smile on his face, he hugs the girl tight and braces for impact
....
10 seconds... nothing's happening
"Are we...dead?"
Weakly, Zero opened his eyes and notices the torrents being blocked by the barrier to the fore.
"Kid, you did well. Knights, for en garde!
An old man along side his 2 companions, who were probably young adults, are wearing clad armours similar to a knight in the Middle Ages appeared right before Zero.
They are armed with swords whilst holding their shields. But the most distinct feature s of the gaffer are a crest pinned down on the side of his shoulder and a red-silver cape behind his back.
The grandsire approaches Zero while the two men raises their sword as they prepare their stance.
"I believe you're the hero who saved the fine lady, are you not?"
Asked the knight. He let out his hand
And nervously grabbed his
"Y-yes" anxiously, I respond. He too speaks formal. Too formal.
I wondered
'Is it because he's old or...'
Funny thoughts passes through my mind. But to think of comical things in the middle of a life and death situation, I must've been delusional.
"Don't be afraid. We'll take care the rest of it"
Zero gazes into the man's eyes, bewildered at the moment. If he a was maiden, his heart could've fluttered. Unfortunately, Zero's a healthy young man.
"Thank you. But, sir, please save the girl first. Her injuries may be critical than mine."
I uttered in a perturbed tone.
The knight shifted his view, kneeled, and observes the girl's injuries.
"We have a hea...doctor near the entrance. Head straight right across where you came from and we'll see what we can do"
With a worriesome face, the old knight stood up and lifted his shield
"To arms, men! Let no dark souls see their tomorrow!"
He declared, raising the morale of his confrére.
The josser then turns his head around and conveyed
"Fear not, we, the Dragon Knights will save you"
As he marches forward in the battle field.
