Mathew knew he could handle himself, but he was still nervous about seeing the outcast's leader. Mathew needed their help, he couldn't watch over the people that he was guiding to safety for long. If he went on for much longer they would run out of supplies. They needed help
They approached a building that was partially destroyed and patched up poorly in other spots. The building didn't have a menacing feel to it so Mathew went with a little more courage.
As he entered the smell of food was everywhere, and it smelled good. Mathew's mouth was watering as he waited. Finally someone came through the door.
"I-Is he t-the one?" The man was obviously scared of Mathew.
The man who brought Mathew responded immediately "yes sir"
The boss came over and looked at Mathew's head "If you want to talk to me deactivate the helmet" his voice cracked about halfway through the sentence. Mathew didn't want to show any sign of a threat so he deactivated his helmet. The other men in the room eyes widened yet again as the helmet practically melted off of Mathew's head.
The boss though shocked was a little less nervous after Mathew took of his helmet " that's better... what should I call you?"
Mathew responded a little wearily, " Mathew" the boss nodded "I am Andrew, it's a pleasure to meet you." Mathew nodded as well
They talked for some time and settled on a deal. The survivors Mathew brought would stay so long as Mathew helped protect the town. Mathew would also get half off meals so long as this deal was in effect. Happy with his new 'army'. Andrew smiles. Mathew with less weight on his shoulders smiles.
Andrew sends one of his guards to let the survivors in to the town.
He sends another to show Mathew where he would stay. It was in the towns barracks. A private run down aircraft hanger with the doors welded shut and a door cut into it. There were about 20 men inside so Mathew couldn't help but think: how could they hold against Manterine?
He looked around and noticed the nervous glances he was getting from the men. Mathew was used to it at this point. He decided to go introduce himself to break the ice.
