Mathew made a rookie mistake! How idiotic was he to not keep moving! Of course the Sarthins would be hunting him, they wanted the technology that Mathew's suit possesses.
Mathew skidded to a halt and threw the truck into reverse. Mathew knew he would be killed if he didn't get away immediately, but there was a problem. The only entrance and exit was blocked by the Sarthins. Mathew's only hope was to hide it out.
Mathew drove the truck next to a couple other vehicles put it in park and hid under the dashboard. It was going to be a long night.
"WHERE IS HE?!" The man screamed at Andrew.
Andrew was terrified. He had at least ten guns fixed on his head.
"B-b-barracks" he squeaked.
"I don't know your town Nim-wit! show us where your barracks are or we will shoot you here and find it ourselves!"
"Y-yes s-sir!"
Andrew quickly led the way to the barracks to see the place in a mess.
"What?" Andrew stammered. His men were top notch, how could they fail?
"Kill him."
Andrew heard the words and tried to run. He didn't make it more than three feet before a hole appeared in the back of his head. His body slumped over with a thud.
"Search the entire village. Kill anyone who has any information on target S5 after collecting the information."
With that the his men leave to search the village. They searched the homes, businesses, even the church and the town hall. Mathew heard screams and gunshots throughout the night. He hated hiding. He hated the screams, but he knew if he tried to help or even moved he would've spotted by one of the hovercraft above him. Mathew thought ' this is what broke through our defenses' when he saw one of the hovercrafts.
The night dragged on. The Sarthin troops had checked the trucks interior through the windows twice. Mathew's black suit saved him both times. He was lucky they hadn't opened the door to look otherwise the light would expose him.
He sat there for five hours and the sun had began to rise. He heard a mass amount of vehicles fire up. The noise of the vehicles began to fade, and eventually became non existent. Mathew cautiously looked over the dashboard to see outside and nearly fainted. There was a large pile of dead bodies. They had killed the entire village for just seeing him.
Mathew quickly fired up the truck and drove to Samuel's auto shop and he was relieved to see that the door was open and Samuel was sitting inside along with the suit. Samuel was working on it.
Mathew quickly ran inside to make sure Samuel was alright.
"Samuel! Are you alright?!"
Samuel was so relieved that his only true friend was alright that he fainted. Mathew was luckily close enough that he could prevent Samuel from hurting himself from the fall. Mathew carried him to the truck and set him in the passenger side. He then went and gathered the tools and Samuel's suit and put it in the back. Mathew then covered the bed of the truck with a tarp. Mathew got into the drivers seat and started the truck. And the left the ruined village.
