Chapter 1 - Intro

19 BBY: Asper Strip, Asper Valley, Athachia Minor

ASPER VALLEY,

a famous getaway destination was now becoming a landfill. It went from an oasis in a desert to a battlefield between the galaxy. Two miles southwest at the end of the valley sat the Galactic Republic forces, and four miles northeast was the Separatist forces. In between were thousands of citizens who were stuck in the middle of gunfire. Hundreds of tanks crashed into buildings, shops and homes of the natives. Lives were at stake, so a ceasefire took place. Kema leapt out of cover, to survey the area. She almost looked like a Loth cat, then her commlink beeped. It meant Xido had a plan.

"Kema! Come in!"

"I'm here," she peaked from inside the ruins of a republic ship, looking backwards to where the saw her master's double-bladed sabre. "I need you, Kai and Jysell to run into those zones and rescue as many people as you can!"

"Lightwork!" Jysell yelled out.

"Got it, master," Kema switched off the comms. "Alright guys, I have a plan!"

"What do you mean? There's probably droids there!" Jysell barked in concern. "No planning all we do is attack!"

Staring back at Jysell in disapproval, she disagreed. "Yea there's droids, that not what the plan is!" looking towards their target she planned a way to run in and run out. In all honesty, she was clueless of what to do next but with a deep breath. The force spoke! "Alright guys, I know what to do!" Kai, take the left side of the valley, Jysell you go right ahead. I'll go through there," pointing towards the right side of the tight valley.

Turning her head to the left, Kema and Kai dashed off! "Blast!" she cursed. She felt an urge to tell the master but time was running out before the Separatists would strike again. Hundreds would die but in that ultimatum, she had to run off and sneak into the several buildings where natives signalled for help.

Walking through the town Kema saw war at first hand, peoples homes were destroyed. Their speeders were on the floor torn apart and left for a scavenge. Walking up to a nearby wall she witnessed a horror, a blast that had an etch to the wall. An image of four people, all charred, stood still on the wall depicting the moment they were blasted right on the street.

"Help!" she gazed up the floor, a Hammerhead woman and her child were stuck in their room since their house was torn in half. Her baby was on the verge of crying but stopped because the mother covered its eyes.

"Alright, ma'am I need you to trust me and jump!"

"What?" she barked down below as Kema went afar off ready to use the force. "Just jump, trust me!" After moments of hesitation, she strapped her baby to her chest. Stepped onto the balcony and jumped! It seemed like time slowed down significantly.

As gravity pulled her down, Kema stretched out her hand, reaching out to the force around the two individuals. As gravity took effect she began screaming in panic. Just as the woman was about to splat on the ground, she paused just mere inches. Thinking that she just killed someone, Kema took a deep breath and opened her eyes to see the mother floating.

"You can let me down now!" she smiled. "Haha Again!" the child laughed!"

"Right," she released her hands softly and the lady safely got up and ran to hug the young padawan. "Oh thanks, but do you know where any other people are?" she pointed towards a metro station down the road, "There hundreds of people hiding there, my husband is there! Please do what you can!"

"Yes, ma'am!" she ran off. But before she could get there Xido called in, "Kema, where ever you are! Run out of there,"

"I can't right now master," she replied through comms.

"Kema, right here! Right now!" she barked almost breaking the comm speakers. "They've marched a bunch of clankers your way, and I can't track your signature with all this dust!"

"Sorry master, there are still people up ahead!" She shut off her comms and ran to the station.

"Kema? Kema?!" she roared into her commlink, "Blast! Get me a signal, Goldie" she jumped off her platform to begin walking into the ruins. Meanwhile, Goldie a clone commander got some of his troopers to get closer and get a signal.

Kema came to the station finding it desolate and empty, full of dust and blaster smoke. Across the station were large pane windows which showed the droids marching forward armoured with weapons of death.

"If there's anyone here and you'd love to get out, yell out Jedi!" she yelled in a hurry, watching the droids and looking for anyone. After a few moments, someone yelled "Jedi," and so did others as they peeked their heads out of the shadows.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, let's try to hurry before the clankers get here!" she stood by the entrance and led the people out one by one. Other adults stood by her to help the elderly and all those who needed help.

As the last ones walked off, the droids began breaking through the glass. They spotted the padawan escorting the citizens out of the stations. "Blast her," they yelled. Red blasts ran across the room. Kema tingled, she felt chills behind her; so while turning around she saw flashes of red. Stretching out her hands, miraculously the force created a shield around her. As the blasts paused mid-air, the citizens watch on as she looked at what she'd just done!

Then with glorious fury, she pushed the blasts away with the force. Taking out a plethora of droids all at the same time. As the other droids witness what had happened, they paused. Giving her time to stun the rest with grenades. Throwing about ten of those surely secured the victory, then she commanded them to run off towards the Republic's side.

After a moment of getting a run, the station blew with the clankers inside. All screaming "Noooooo!"

-

Back at base, Xido warted off aerial attacks, repelling blaster fire she looked amazing. In a Separatist attempt to capture the strip inside the valley, the Republic attacked where they tried to cover ground. "Kema! Where are you?!" she barked on her wrist-comms. "Blast!"

In the corner of her eye, she saw Jysell escorting about twenty people towards a Republic transporter. "Jysell, have you seen Kema?"

"No, she's a mile off!" she replied while helping others into the ship. "But Kai should be coming right now!" Suddenly! There was Kai with even more rescuees, he lacked behind after blasting a wall with the force. Where droids fell out in fear.

"RAGH! Run for your lives!" he roared as they ran off.

"I hope she's alright!" she uttered. "In the meantime, let's try to stay put here" right after they had stood their ground.

-

"Hop on the train people!" she filled a nearby train almost broken and busted. After all, rescuees jumped on to the train, she entered the cockpit ready to get them out of the warzone.

"You know how to drive, this?" a man came into the captain's deck.

"Ummm, it shouldn't be that hard," she jerked a lever forward and train leapt into the air and headed right to the Republic's side. The noise had attracted certain droids, but with the speed of the train they couldn't catch up.

While the passengers fastened as hard as possible, Kema and all those in the captain's deck bumped all around the deck, trying to get a hold of the lever to try and slow it down. As the train ran through the town, it tore through several homes and buildings.

"Nooo, my toys!" a boy cried.

"Don't worry son, we'll get new ones! Just hold on to my hand!" a comforting mother held his hand in the turbulent ride. Up and down the carts shook, side to side meant someone was flying around the train.

"You have to lower the lever!" the man grunted as he tried to hold on to something.

"Alright!" Kema leapt to a handle and held steady until her hand stretched out for the lever. She demanded the force to help her. Harder and harder he jerked her hand forward to get it to go down. "I can't," she sighed heavily.

CRASH!

The train began slowing down. The momentum of the train dragged Kema until her face met with the windshield. Opening her eyes she saw Xido with her hands stretched out trying to slow down the train. She roared with all her might, pressing with her shoulders, she exerted the force even more to hold the train. Kai and Jysell eventually join her until the train stopped right at the base.

Everyone fell in exhaustion, while Xido ran into the cockpit to find Kema on the floor with a busted elbow and a bleeding nose

"Thank you little one," he smiled. "You saved us all," he embraced her tightly. "What's your name,"

"K-Kema," she pulled aside her messy hair.

"What were you thinking?" Xido blasted the door open. Running towards Kema she dropped down to check on her, "don't try that ever again!"

"C-come on...we-" Kema sighed heavily, "we got 'em all!" she said as she passed out on the floor.
