Chapter 22: Wild Boss: Boaris
Liam and Rain departed after replenishing their items. Liam needed potions so he couldn't burden Rain if they ever faced a boss with just the two of them.
He was actually poor at everything. The only thing he wasn't lacking was food. He has a lot of ingredients for cooking like meat and herbs.
Unlike the other cook, Liam's cooking style was simple. It mainly buffed his stamina recovery and strength, vitality, dexterity and agility. The recipe came from Hanz, it was called Hanz Daily Recipe.
Strange it may seemed, but Liam knew how rare stamina recovery was. Rain and Liam's journey was silent. Well, the party before was also silent but with the occasional bickering from Velkner and Ye Han, the party became lively.
Liam looked at Rain while walking. The occasional sounds came from their surroundings. There were a lot of players littered around the road they took.
Rain felt Liam's gaze but didn't comment on it. In fact he was also curious on how good was Liam now. But, he kept it in. He only needed to see his improvement after all, there might be a great change coming.
"From here, you need to stay within 5 meters away from me."
Liam was surprised with the sudden words that came out from the ever silent Rain. He could only nod to regain his composure. He moved closer to Rain and didn't ask.
Rain also approved of Liam's attitude. They were going to hunt a wild boss inside the Misty Forest. He needed the final item for his equipment. He was actually lucky to get the rarest item from his wish.
They entered the Misty Forest. The speed they were travelling slowed down because Liam might lose his way. The forest was called Misty Forest because of the thick mist and its capability to lower one's sight.
The average players didn't have the courage to enter the forest. While, Rain coincidentally saw a wild boss inside the forest. It was before he arrived at the Tower of Wish.
Unfortunately, he could only find Liam. He wanted to at least brought two helpers especially within his last party.
"Keep your guard up. There's a lot of wild beasts here. They're also high level than us."
Liam nodded and continued to follow Rain. Unknown to the two of them, the Misty Forest was in fact a famous dating site for those who wanted to impress the one their pursuing. The forest connected two different roads from 2 kingdoms.
Misty Forest served as a natural barrier for invaders especially for large troops. They travelled for almost 20 minutes before they saw the wild boss in a clearing, sleeping under a huge tree. The area around the tree has a magical atmosphere that could make your heartbeat fast because of the beauty.
Fireflies were everywhere surrounding the tree. The wild boss looked a wild boar but with the ambiance of the clearing, it looked harmless and domesticated. Well, that's how Liam felt.
"The boss would only look at us after entering the clearing but once we're 20 meters away from him he'll attack us."
"I'll distract him, you'll attack the weak point. What level is the boss?"
"Level 30. But I think it is a strength type boss. Low health and low agility. I escaped without dying before."
"I see. Let's go!"
Liam dashed towards the boar. Luckily, the company have conscience and didn't add a thick mist inside the clearing or else…
The boar woke up and after crossing the 20 meters, snorted and made his stance. When Liam was near he saw the boss' status.

"Dryad?"
But before Rain could answer him, the boar arrived and tackled him. Liam could only dodge the incoming attack.
"Don't worry. The dryad should be an NPC!"
Liam got the message and attacked the boar on its body.

The beasts might not be able to wear defensive equipment but their natural skin would be thick and their fangs, claws, and horns would also strengthen.
The boar snorted angrily because of the human that attacked his sturdy body! It couldn't let him get away!
The boar snorted louder than the first attack. The eye of the boar turned red. It was on 'enrage mode'
"Shit!" Liam couldn't dodge the first attack of the boar. The boar's speed increased! After making its stance it immediately attacked Liam without charging!

Liam was knocked back after he was tackled by the beast. Luckily, Liam's health was high because of Dorian's Promise or else he might received additional status ailment.
Liam steadied himself and looked at the boar. The boar's eye change from its normal color after it attacked.
"Liam! I think after attacking the boar it would be in enrage state!"
"I think so, too. I'll attack first while you attack after it was enrage."
They had a better understanding after one exchange. They truly deserve to be at the 1% of the players! Liam wiped his non-existent blood on his lips.
It might looked weird but Liam felt like acting like it was true anyway. He looked cool in a strange way.
Liam again dashed at the boar who was on a stance. The boar's AI was truly… normal. It was too easy. They got the pattern after three exchanges.
The boar after being attacked would be enrage. The speed would rise for 10% and its defense would decrease. They experimented for three exchanges.
Liam's potion was depleted after some time. Fortunately, he got the gist of it. As long as the boar attacked, even if it missed, it was counted as an attack.
He didn't have to receive the boar's attack. While, Rain and Liam was busy with the boss. Somewhere near the clearing there were people eyeing them.
"Boss! I think they might kill the boar!" a player with silver armor that looked like a tank warrior said.
"Hehehe! Boss! Boss! I think its our lucky day!" a fat player said that looked like a thief with his clothed armor.
"Brothers! It's our time to be on the World Announcement!" the 'boss' spread his arms like he was proclaiming his stance on a public declaration.
A chorus of soft 'yes' could be heard amongst them. They had the creepiest smile they could produce. They have ten people within their flanks.
A typical number of party. Maximum of ten players could form one party. The 'boss' was also a warrior that had a strange get-up. He looked like a pirate with his leather armor. He might be a speed type warrior.
They observed Liam and Rain for awhile, formulating a wicked plan for kill steal and possible outcome.
Unknown to the group, Liam and Rain perceived their killing intent. "There's an enemy near us." Liam gritted his teeth. He had his fair share of those greedy humans. He once had a party that planned to kill him because of the rare drops.
Luckily for Liam or unluckily for them, Liam was already a Sword Master, a unique class, that gave a huge attribute points and passive skills. They were wiped out and didn't see another day after Liam killed them all.
Hanz praised him for his temperament. He needed to learn the dark side of humanity to grow up. But, deep inside Liam was disappointed. He never knew that he could experience it within a small amount of time playing.
Rain perceived Liam's mood. He was also aware of those lurking players. Since he was a Ranger, he had a greater advantage inside a forest especially within this misty forest. Rain might not kill them all by himself but he could delay them until Liam killed the boar.
Liam growled and unleashed his skill to the boar decreasing its life into 30%.
The lurking players saw the change of the boar.
"Get ready, brothers! Our time is near!"
