Chapter 8: My name is Luci
Liam finally saw the village chief. The place where the Light Stone was like a domain. Domains were used by NPC as proof of their strength. Not all NPC can summon a domain.
Domains were like a small realm that not only protects the outside world but also hinder any outside help. It could boost the user's power a lot. It was designed for the NPC heroes and villains to use domain as an ace.
Unfortunately, Liam wasn't aware that he experience it twice but never had any effort to search it. He thought it was a plot of the quest. He wasn't right but he wasn't wrong either.
Liam asked the NPC around town and never heard a positive answer. Finally, he stood outside of the chief's house. The chief, unlike before, was inside his house.
Liam knocked and heard a muffled 'come in'. He pushed the door open and saw the chief sitting on a chair nearby.
"What can I do for you, son?"
"I was asking around about an item I want help to appraise but the thing was nobody knows about it."
"The villagers haven't gone outside this island since their birth. People come and go but the villagers stayed. They didn't want to have an adventure like you people. What is it that you want help for appraisal?"
Liam gave the stone to the chief. When the chief saw it his face suddenly showed a big reaction. It was mixed of horror, doubt, and excitement.
The chief took the stone from Liam with a trembling hands. He held the stone like his life depended on it.
"Yes, I know this stone. It was a stone that according to legend I read on the west was a stone from Heavenly city. The stone itself was a representation of a divine being."
"What do you mean?"
"What I meant was the stone itself was owned by a divine being. Either he died or was roaming around the stone. The stone itself was owned by each divine being."
"So you mean that I picked a stone that was owned by someone either it was lost or he/she died?"
"Yes, that's why you better come back where you got it and be careful not to offend the owner. They could vaguely feel the stone but they can't know where it actually was. So you better hide it carefully."
The chief gave the stone back to Liam. Liam thanked the chief and hid the stone to his pocket. He bade farewell to the chief and went back to the place where he got the stone.
Like before, after he got inside the boundary of the space(domain) he saw that something has changed. He vaguely felt familiar yet not.
"So, have you found out about the stone?"
Liam heard a voice yet he couldn't pinpoint where. He could only reply because he couldn't feel any killing intent.
"Yes, the stone was owned by a divine being?"
"You are not sure?"
"I think I am now."
Liam before his voice faded saw a man appearing from nowhere right before him. It was the robed man that saved him from the werewolf!
"Hey, I thought that you know the stone. Give it back to me."
Liam looked at the man and asked "Can you prove that you are really the owner of this stone?"
"Of course. Let me show you." The robed man removed his cape.
The robed man's face was finally shown from Liam. He saw that the man's hair was like a flowing milky cloud silver hair that could take your breath away. His pointed nose, translucent mismatched eyes, one was golden while the other was purple. His parting small red lips that have a mischievous and tempting side on it. Liam inwardly gulped.
This game was truly unfair for both sexes. It was clearly seen that this divine beings were truly an out of this world existence. Elf would also have to surrender the title of the most pure and stunning looking compared to this divine being.
"Hi, I am Luci." Luci extended his hand and Liam reverting back from being daze shook Luci's hand.
"I am Liam, thanks for saving me back then."
"No problem. I never expected that a human being could throw away his life that recklessly. But I must admire your valiant spirit to drive away the sinister wolf. Or else… hmm."
Liam scratched his head. He never thought that a quest like this was really have a lot of story. Liam remembering that he needed to give back the stone, took the stone out from his pocket and gave it back to Luci.
"No, it now belongs to you. I need a companion to help me fulfill my role on this land."
[Quest Cleared! Received Divine Light Stone, HMQ Part 3, and Luci's affection point +5]
[Hidden Main Quest Part 3]
Luci, the divine being, needed your help to perform his tasks on arriving on this land. Help him fulfill his tasks and earn his approval.
Mission: Investigate the north, west and east direction of the village during night and day.
Reward: Luci's affection +5, Luci's approval
Failure: Luci's affection -100, Luci's contempt, Quest Termination
Liam could only sigh his grievance. The third quest was time consuming and at the same time unrewarding. He could only nod and accept the quest.
He once again departed from Luci's domain. He never asked why Luci never left the same spot nor he was curious. He had a lot going on within this day.
He was shocked shitless with the visual of NPC, he almost kowtowed right then and there. He was also a man and knew what beauty was. And the beauty of Luci was born from malicious mind.
IT WAS EVERY MAN'S DREAM! He could only sigh and cursed at the designer for making it like a genderless look yet he could see that it was in fact a man.
Liam first went inside the village and restocked his cooked meat. Before he battled the wolf he sold most of his remaining meat and he ate the remains of it. He now needed to replenish his supply because stamina was one that he needed the most and to monitor his hunger.
Liam also equipped his beginner sword because the sword he bought was broken and his two potion was also used against the werewolf. He was truly miserable.
This quest was taking a toll on him. He was quite poor because it was only a beginner village but now he needed more time to spend in the beginner village.
Liam first went to north directly opposite of Luci's settlement. It was almost afternoon so he could only wait before he could start his investigation at night.
Meanwhile, at the company, after meeting the director, Rain was once again fulfilling his role as a NPC player. He only stopped playing when he was sure that Liam wouldn't come back for a while.
Rain then looked at the other capsule beside the capsule he just used. It was also a deluxe capsule courtesy of the company for his advanced payment.
Rain changed his capsule and set an alarm for an hour before logging into his account.
