Chapter 2: A Real Beginner
Pillars of light descending from the sky could be seen from everywhere on this small village. This was the village for beginners and the like.
The village was really small only a number of houses could be seen namely a tavern and inn, a shop, villagers houses and the chief's house. The village was guarded by walls with 5 feet tall made from woods with a watch tower each gate.
Beginner's Village. A village which was not near nor far from the next town. It was on a small island which was protected made by the God of Light and its Heroes.
Liam arrived at the central part of the village where the villagers and chief convene meetings. The villagers were also weak because those who were qualified to advance a rank would be kicked out from the island.
This was the law of the game company for it to be really a 'beginners' village. This was a tutorial arc for those who were new to virtual games and any games. This was the perfect place for Liam.
Like any other player who switched from another game they have to feel the changes brought by the experience from taking an action and the like. Liam, like an amateur, touched his whole body from head to toe. He only felt comfortable after doing the action which garnered some looks from those veterans which also started the game like him.
He wasn't affected like anybody else because he believed that every action taken has its own purpose and meaning. Liam jumped, crouch, rolled, walked, ran, and swing his arms like smacking the air.
It feels the same. Was his first impression. The thing was Liam only felt the same because he was using the deluxe capsule from the very beginning but if he started from the normal one then he would know that there was a time delay and the feeling wasn't quite right.
Liam finally took in the scenery presented before him. It felt surreal. The wind blows from his face that caressed his face gently like a soothing motion. The ground wasn't hard nor soft it only felt balance between it. The players like him which were looking at him with some contempt, ridicule, and amusement.
He didn't care nor he would give them some time right now. This was a new experience for him yet it was familiar. The distinct smell of the ground and the morning air hidden behind the shade of trees. The greenery forest that was peeking from the walls. The smell of cooking food, the bustle of the streets, the peddlers selling their items, and the players making their own errands. All of it was imprinted deep from Liam's mind. This was his first game, the start, the beginning, he wouldn't let this come to an end like his dream to be an athlete.
Liam exhaled a mouthful of breath that he kept. The scenery was truly remarkable. The heat of the sun was also familiar. Everything was truly amazing as the rumor said.
It wasn't a fake news nor a rumor without prior facts. It was all the truth. He will make his debut today!

"100 experience before a level up, huh." Liam also looked at his equipment and all he saw was all normal weapon which was a sword, armor, boots, and gloves. He only have 10 copper coins and a single red potion.
He observe the passing people like him. Most people come and go from the southern gate so he headed there.
The camp was small. He arrived after walking for a half minute. He passed the gate and saw the expanse of tress which were at least 6 feet tall. He traversed the road that was leading from the inside.
The blowing of the wind and the warmth of the sun from the shade of trees were soothing. It made him feel relaxed. Liam observed each player he passed and decided to first hunt a rabbit. Yes, there were only 2 type of monster he could see from the southern part of the island, rabbit and boar. He first attacked the rabbit. He moved his sword like a flowing river that connects from the sea. It was elegant yet strong. The base of his body leaned forward after extending the sword and it connected directly at the rabbit.
[You inflicted a critical hit! Rabbit of Beginning received 2 damage!]
What the actual! A critical hit yet the damage was only 2?! Are you kidding me?!
Liam regained his composure and struck the rabbit again before he completely forgot that he was engaging his very first battle. Liam struck the rabbit with his not-so-sharp sword on the ear.
[You inflicted a critical hit on it's weak point! Rabbit of Beginning received 3 damage!]
Sigh!
The rabbit of beginning never attacked back until its HP reached zero.
[Successfully hunted Rabbit of Beginning! Congratulations on your first hunt! You received 5 experience points and extra 5 points for the 1st hunt!]
Liam could only sigh and feel resigned with the experience. He might need to kill a lot of rabbits and boars to gain a level. Without thinking of the future, Liam continued to hunt boars and rabbits for the whole day until he couldn't get an experience from it.
Liam looked at his status and spoils of war. Liam read that you shouldn't waste any points from the beginning village because after choosing your first class because you will have to adjust it based on your preferred class tree. It could only be viewed on the next town or city.

He also got 20 copper coins, 23 rabbit meat, and 22 boar meat from killing rabbits and boars. Meat at beginner village was an exception. You could get it by killing beginner monsters but it could also be sold 20 pieces of meat for a copper coin because it couldn't be transferred with you after you left the village.
It was an exclusive drop with a little use but its purpose wasn't. This meat could be cooked from the village chief's house which you could experience your very first cooking and taste it.
Profession was widely used on any games and Advent of Heroes was also one. The profession was divided in many branches which could be learned through an NPC. The location and how to get it was a mystery but reportedly there were three known profession the Gatherer, Alchemy, and Cooking.
Liam wanted to try cooking so after he couldn't get any experience from killing boar and rabbit he backtracked his way. He was almost at the sea surrounding the island. Fortunately, the developers made the beginner village laid back and easy.
While walking, Liam saw on his periphery a light on his left side. It was almost midnight so he could see how bright it was.
Like any beginner who wanted to unravel a secret, Liam walked toward the light. He kept walking towards it that he didn't even saw an incoming danger…
