A man clad in black and white came rushing through the glass doorway to a room filled with influential and well-known people. The room was bright and cold with the eyes of each person watching him. A meeting would be taking place in the newly built office of Suarez Corporation.
Six months had passed in a blink of an eye, and within that time frame, Suarez Corp. had already conquered the whole nation. It was an impeccable empire, and with the support of Private Dawn, the second most dominant corporation in the nation, the Suarez's triumph might just manifest through the entire world. It might've been just fate or luck, either way, it made Denzel more powerful.
"How about having an alliance with Shawn Corporation?" a man suggested, "They are leading the markets for quite some time now. It would be beneficial if we do business together, don't you think?"
Denzel's eyes shifted to the man. He did not give a reply but he did leave him a deadly stare. Paying attention to the presenter was also no good as his head ached by the memories of the mere past. It was useless to remember those.
The meeting ended shortly after multiple reports. Denzel, with a blank face, calmly stood up to leave the meeting room. He paced the new halls with new men that wandered here and there. He entered his office and to his surprise, he was greeted with mountains of papers on that were piled up on his table.
As a matter of fact, he refused every application for the position of secretary who were offered by Alexandra. That's why his schedules were a mess, and without a helping hand, he became more and more exhausted every single day. It became a dull life for him—there is no point why he still lived like a king.
As he was signing tons of paperwork, a woman barged into his office. Her eyes widened upon the gruesome scenery.
"Welcome, Alexandra," Denzel greeted in a monotonous voice.
Alexandra frowned as she sighed. "What the h*ll is this place?"
"My office."
"It looks more like a recycling area to me."
"Sorry to hear that."
Alexandra carefully skipped the papers that laid on the ground, throwing three envelopes towards Denzel's desk.
"What are these?"
"Choose."
Denzel sighed and kept signing paperwork. He would want to explain Alexandra for the nth time, but she never listened.
"Stop being stubborn, Denzel," Alexandra said, sitting on top of Denzel's desk, "You'll need an assistant sooner or later."
Denzel frowned. "I want to be alone."
"Is this about Shawn again?"
Denzel's movements stopped upon hearing that name. Memories flooded back from that time he desperately needed answers but was refused to be given one. On the top of that, Ivan remained hostile towards him on a higher level, which left him confused and unresolved for the past six months.
"I prefer to be alone, that's all."
Alexandra stared at the miserable Denzel. After everything she'd done, Denzel could still not forget the existence of Shawn. That's also primarily the reason why he doesn't want to do business with Shawn Corp.—because it reminded him of that name he wanted to forget.
