Chapter 68 - Conversations (3)

"Let's talk."

The room was bright but Denzel felt the darkness oozing out from Ivan as he stood mightily beside the glass door, with a dangerous look painted on his face. Denzel also gave him a sharp glare and replied.

"We'll talk later. Get out." Confidence ran through his words as he gave attention to his paperwork.

Ivan sighed and agreed. If he can't talk to Denzel, he'll need to have a word with Shawn. He scanned his eyes around the room for a brief moment. Upon the realization that Shawn was not in the room, he left.

Moments passed by in a blink of the eye as Denzel finally realized that his word was half-finished. The office was cold and silent up until a certain someone barged.

"Let's talk, now," he said with a mighty tone.

Denzel looked up just to see an impatient big brother ready to force out all of his emotions. "What?"

Ivan smirked and rushed up to Denzel's desk, slamming his hand onto the table. "When will you care for Shawn?"

A stroke of confusion entered Denzel's perimeters. He did not know what he meant by that nor does he have any idea about the bullsh*t he was spitting out.

"It's his life. Why don't you take care of him if you're obsessed so much? You like him, don't you?" Arrogance covered his words and tone.

Impatience grew over Ivan's words. "When will you just fire him?"

With those words, Denzel's inner monologue began. A random voice asked him when will he do the job, but he answered, never. He said, commanded rather, to fire him instantly, but he refused strongly and decided to argue with the voice.

He wanted Ivan to mind his own business just like what he did ten years ago. He locked his eyes onto him as the situation and atmosphere got worse. It was at this moment when Denzel said to himself that he can't take these demands any longer.

"Silence is your answer? This is ridiculous."

The constant eye contacts made the atmosphere intense, until the glass door opened. Shawn entered and saw what was happening. They both batted their eyes upon him, making him leave without a word. Ivan straightened his back and prepared himself to leave.

"I'll make sure that you'll never get to see Shawn after this." The hostility in his words were legitimate, and he also did not seem like he was joking.

Denzel coughed to get his attention. "Why? So, you can go to bed with him again?"

Ivan did not pause, but with a smooth and quick transition, he grabbed his brother's collar; his eyes were menacing; his grip tight. It made Denzel's heart beat louder the more he heard Ivan pant in anger.

Denzel smirked. "What? Are you angry that I am correct? Oh, I pity you. You're obviously much out of my league, big brother. I'm not a person who DISPLAYS public affection withing the darkness of the parking lot."

Ivan's grip remained tight, but he lowered his head and let him go to calm his temper. "You're despicable."

"I can say the same thing to you. We're brothers, after all."
