Chapter 64 - Mistakes (9)

The next day, Denzel and Shawn arrived in the office much earlier than they had anticipated. Adding to that, he was also expecting for a "very" special guest to arrive later on, which was not exciting in any way.

His body felt heavier that yesterday; it made him want Shawn to collect all of the reports from the employees just to have some alone time because. His thoughts kept him awake for the duration of the night, even the confusion still pierced his inner being.

With Denzel too immersed into deep voices within him, he did not notice Alexandra's cheery entrance. She still wore very… peculiar outfits that matched her personality a lot, and her squeals in the room were merely enough to break one's eardrums.

Alexandra sighed exaggeratedly, and called Shawn's attention to get coffee, whispering to him that she wanted privacy after. As soon as he had left, Alexandra let out an obnoxious scream, startling Denzel and making him shout at her as his heart pounded quickly.

She smiled and took one look at Denzel; immediately, she knew that he did not get enough sleep because of his bad complexion. She sat in an elegant and seductive way on his desk and began giggling.

"You were very immersed in your thoughts, so I thought I'd help you," she said. Denzel gave her a sharp glare, sighed heavily and leaned onto his seat. At the same time, Shawn had just arrived with two cups of coffee. Claire greeted Shawn again and so does Alexandra.

"Oh, Ms. Claire, good morning." It was weird to greet someone you had just greeted a while ago, and it seemed a little appropriate. The two CEOs stared at the secretaries—one with a cold expression and the other with a twinkling-eye expression. Their presence—it definitely felt weird.

Alexandra pulled herself together to put on a smile. "Good day, Mr. Shawn. I heard you enjoyed your time with Claire, noh?"

Shawn chuckled and nodded. He paced to room to place Denzel's coffee on the table. Afterwards, he asked Claire to leave with him. The before cheery atmosphere suddenly disappeared before Denzel's eyes as Alexandra stood high and mighty like a goddess with her arms crossed.

"Your secretary is quite something."

Denzel sighed. "There you go again. Is that your reason for coming here?"

"No. I don't have all the time in the world to do that," Alexandra arched her brow upward, "I came here to inform you about the project, oh, and also about that guy."

Denzel stood up, sipped his coffee and faced her. He wanted to change the topic for once, for he's just too tired to deal with it.

"I thought you met Shawn yesterday."

Alexandra gave Denzel an aloof expression. "Oh well, I just made Claire and him date. I have no such intentions of doing something to him anyway."

"With that expression of yours, I know you're up to something." Alexandra smiled to Denzel's statement as she placed her index finger under his chin.

"It's a s-e-c-r-e-t."
