Chapter 36 - Two Women in Disguise (3)

The next day, Sharmaine woke up early. Last night, she was informed by Denzel about the time and place where they will meet.

She let out a hostile grunt. "Ugh, I hate this."

She got dressed in her daily attire—formal clothes. She even styled her hair the way she would usually style it. Finally, she left the house early in the morning and asked the driver if he could bring her to Prism Hotel, one of the best five-star hotels in the city. Luckily, the driver agreed with no problem.

"Hey, would you mind giving this to Denzel? Make sure he eats on time," Sharmaine said as she assumed that she might not come home early.

"I will try."

Sharmaine smiled as she hopped in the car. Prism Hotel was roughly a two-hour ride from her boss' house. It was quite a far and boring ride, but what could she do? She was supposed to meet up with the CEO of the Private Dawn Corporation in three hours. There was no traffic so she could get a glimpse at all of the other places around the city—she stared at the tall buildings outside.

The Prism Hotel from the outside was very beautiful. It was minimalistic in a way that made it stood out more from the other hotels she'd work before. Inside, the theme continued. There was also an array of plants around the area—a very pretty touch for a simple and elegant hotel.

"I have a reservation for Ms. Park," Sharmaine said at the receptionist.

The receptionist pointed her hand to the left. "Yes, this way, sir."

Sharmaine nodded and thanked her before taking long strides toward the halls that seemed endless, and ended up entering a large hall. Still with the simple design, it felt very bright and beautiful under the gentle sun as the room was encased in a dome glass.

"What can we help you with, sir?" a black-clad employee said.

"I have a reservation at 10 AM under Ms. Park."

He ran his hands down the chart he held. "Yes, table one is right over there."

Sharmaine thanked him before rushing to table one only to find Claire, who wore a short and very fashionable dress, and no sight of Ms. Park. It was truly awkward and unexpected, but she needed to approach her.

"Hi Ms. Claire, where would Ms. Park be?"

Claire fidgeted her fingers as her heart pounded like crazy. "Ms. Park is not here."

"But I thought she wanted to meet me?"

"That was what I thought too, but she said that . . ."

Sharmaine arched her brow upward. "That—?"

"It's going to be a date."

Sharmaine froze for a moment. It felt like time had stopped suddenly. Her and Claire? Date? She did have the thought of dating Claire, but it was out of trivial reasons; her and Claire wouldn't have been setup.

The atmosphere became awkward after a moment because no one spoke and Sharmaine remained standing beside Claire.

In the end, Claire just smiled. "Well, since Ms. Alexandra planned all of these activities, might as well have fun, right Mr. Shawn?"
