The next day, Sharmaine was surprised yet again as she heard that Alexandra and Claire were in the office. When she arrived there after her morning errands, she saw Alexandra, who wore very fashionable clothing, and Claire, who wore her usual uniform.
Claire smiled upon the entry of Sharmaine, who held two cups of coffee. "Hi, Mr. Shawn."
"Oh, Ms. Claire, good morning." The two CEOs stared at the secretaries, one with rather cold expression and the other with a twinkling-eye expression.
"Good morning as well, Ms. Park."
"Good day, Mr. Shawn. I heard you enjoyed your time with Claire, noh?" she teased with a cheery tone. Sharmaine chuckled and then nodded as she placed Denzel's coffee on his table.
"Here's your coffee, Mr. Suarez."
She went back and escorted Claire outside of the office, for the CEOs previously asked for privacy. They stood at the front of the glass door with a very quiet atmosphere. Both of them wanted to say something to each other, but hesitated to do so until both of them simultaneously called each other.
"Ah, you can go first, Ms. Claire."
Claire smiled. "No, you should go first."
Sharmaine's hear thrummed, for she did not know what to ask. "Um . . . why did you suddenly send me home?" Claire's stunned expression made it very clear for Sharmaine that it was what she wanted to hear from her.
"Why? Did you want to continue our date?" Claire asked. Sharmaine did not answer. She figured that it would be better if she did not give a response instead of flat-out saying that she never intended to go on a date.
"So, what was your business here?" Sharmaine blurted out. Claire was stunned upon hearing Sharmaine's words.
"I cannot disclose that." She smiled right after.
"Aw, that's a bummer."
The atmosphere became silent yet again—between them at least—as the air was filled with noises from the employees coming in and out of their offices. Some stared at the both of them for a moment and kept walking while the others just ignored them.
It was especially a very busy day for the Suarez Corp. because everyone was taking their part in the upcoming project, which was what Sharmaine deduced to be Alexandra and Claire's business in the company. Thirty minutes in, Sharmaine felt a slight grumble in her stomach. she gently sipped her coffee and offered Claire to eat with her.
To Sharmaine's surprise, Claire accepted the offer, so they both took the elevator down to the cafeteria and ordered sandwiches and yogurts. Sharmaine stared at Claire unwrapping her sandwich.
"Would you like more?"
Claire smiled. "This will be enough."
They proceeded with eating until Sharmaine remembered Claire being very similar to Carrie Lim. She wanted to ask, but if she was Carrie Lim, wouldn't it be big trouble? It was not like Claire was very accessible either, so she did not want to risk it.
"Ms. Claire," Sharmaine started, "What do you think about disguising?" Claire's eyes suddenly widened. And from her reaction, Sharmaine could easily assume that she was indeed hiding something.
"W-What do you mean?"
Sharmaine bit off her sandwich. "Nothing. It was just a hypothetical, or something like that."
Claire felt a tremendous amount of relief. "So, it was just a hypothetical."
Sharmaine bit her sandwich again. "Let me ask you, Ms. Claire, are you hiding something?"
