Chapter 34 - Two Women in Disguise (1)

Sharmaine looked immensely at the woman. "Freckles."

"Oh, you noticed my freckles," she said with a flushed face.

"Ah, sorry, I just think it's cute."

Claire's face flushed even more, which Sharmaine noticed. In her observation, Claire appeared to be a young and shy woman who had a soft voice, which made the atmosphere feel a little too quiet and awkward for Sharmaine.

It was not clear if Claire was intimidated by the presence of the other secretary in front of her, or if she was just a naturally quiet woman who kept her words to herself, nevertheless, Sharmaine still wanted to create friends, since she had none.

"I-I heard about you boss, Ms. Alexandra. She's a beauty isn't she?" Sharmaine said, displaying an awkward smile.

Claire nodded her head. "Yes, she's referred to the "Iron Woman" of B city."

"That's amazing."

Claire frowned. "Oh, no. Your boss is way more influential."

Sharmaine giggled as she did not know how to respond. She did not want to seem like a traitor nor a gossip.

"So, what's Mr. Suarez like?" Sharmaine paused. Her head was spinning as she did not know how to honestly respond Claire's question; she's had a difficult boss-secretary relationship with Denzel in the past few weeks.

"Well, he was the strict type of guy," she finally said.

Claire smiled and looked over her boss' direction. "Is your boss respectable?"

Sharmaine felt bewildered by Claire's question. Of course, her boss is respectable; that was the reason why he currently owned the title for the "Youngest CEO in the World". He was deeply respected not only because of his position in the industry, but also because of his smart wits and talent. He was too hardworking for a guy who earned millions a day.

What did Claire think—that Denzel was this lazy dude who dated and manipulated people because of his high position?

That question somehow threw Sharmaine off. "Yes. He is very hardworking despite of his young age."

"Oh, I see."

Sharmaine decided to end the conversation with pure silence; frankly, she did no want to speak to an obliviously rude woman for much longer. Because of this, she just stared to the CEO's imperceivably chatting words. That's where Sharmaine suddenly discovered Ms. Alexandra's peculiar attitude; she acted feminine, but somehow went overboard with it.

She looked over to Claire, whose focus was only at her boss. She had now remembered why she look so familiar. But what were the chances that she was indeed Carrie Lim? Sharmaine did not want to risk it. And even if she was right, it would make it too hard for both companies to obtain friendship and loyalty because of this certain information.

The Suarez Corporation was something that Sharmaine valued truly even though the current head was an insensitive jerk.
