"Ahhh!"
The tranquil atmosphere was disrupted by a resonant scream, followed by a loud 'thud' and the rustling of leaves. Not long afterwards, a figure spouting foul language emerged from the bushes.
[Mission accomplished. Host has successfully escaped. Congratulations!]
"Congratulations my foot! I could have broken my neck falling from that height!"
[System is not in control of Host's landing circumstances.]
Zhu Yu's veins bulged.
"Thanks for nothing!" he growled before dusting off his bloodied robe and scanned his surroundings; grassland as far as the eye could see. The plains have been separated into countless smaller fields by several wide paths and bridges leading who-knows-where. Smack in the middle of those fields prevailed a deep river that was connected to a huge waterfall nearby. In the far distance stood several buildings of all shapes and sizes, the biggest one being a towering pagoda.
For the most part, that was it.
This place, too, seemed to be completely devoid of people despite it's charm. He furrowed his brows and nimbly approached the building closest to him.
"System, what place is this? Why isn't anybody here?"
[According to System's first-hand experiences, Host has entered an uninhabited spiritual fissure upon touching the red gem. System estimates that the spiritual fissure had been sealed into that gem, and that it has acknowledged Host as a suitable keeper.]
"Spiritual fissure?"
[Spiritual fissures are similar to private plots of land. This piece of land is completely inaccessible to outsiders unless Host personally brings them in. Host may enter and exit this place as he wishes.]
Zhu Yu was pleasantly surprised, but some questions remained unanswered.
The fact that the stone had been laying on that desk means that someone found it before he did; and surely they, too, came into direct contact with it.
Did they know about this place? Why couldn't they enter?
Moreover, why was he able to enter while they weren't?
Zhu Yu wasn't in the right state of mind to ponder over it, but he would surely come back to these questions one day. Wasn't this way too convenient?
He eventually arrived at his destination; a relatively chic, chinese-style manor.
Zhu Yu crossed over the courtyard and shoved open the door leading to the main room. He began searching for bandages almost immediately; anything that could help him treat his injuries, he would take it without a second thought.
However, his expression began turning darker and darker as time went on.
How come this place doesn't even have bandages?
How come most cabinets are completely empty?!
Zhu Yu then headed towards the closet and jabbed it open, only to discover that it was filled to the brim with exquisite garments.
Black lines covered his face. Pei!
He grabbed a yellow robe made of brocade and began tearing it into differently sized pieces.
System continuously remained silent.
The bitter young man then grabbed a bucket from the bathroom before darting towards the river, filled it with water, and returned to the manor at the speed of lightning.
"No bandages, no food, but the closets are overflowing with expensive garments. How can this be? If I'm going down, then these robes will be going down with me." Zhu Yu angrily murmured to himself before rolling up his sleeves and dunked a piece of brocade into the bucket of fresh water. The very least he could do was to clean his wounds and try to stop the bleeding however possible.
If the yellow garment wasn't enough, he could still take out a few other ones.
If any other person saw this, they would surely wish the worst upon Zhu Yu.
