"I'll meet you again, Lola!" he whispered.
āāāāāā
Someone shook me awake. I opened my eyes. Loud banging noises came from the door, as if trying to break in. I looked around, the light was blaring into my eyes, causing me to squint. As I adjusted to the light, I realised who woke me up. Kelly!
"Thank god you woke up. We need to leave right now. They're coming!" something clicked. The wooden door! I hastily got up and reached for my bow and my knife. I headed to the second floor to get a better view of the outside world. All of a sudden, the banging stopped. Everything was at a standstill. No other noise was produced nor heard. Eerie. Very eerie.
Kelly soon headed upstairs. "Doors are all locked and secure. None of the windows are broken but somehow it seems a lot darker than usual," she continued. That was odd. Ever since a week ago, the sky had always been bright, as if nothing ever changed. The duration of the day remained unchanged. The only thing that changed were the people. They became a threat to only to the environment but also to other humans. So how could it suddenly become darker? Even if it was going to rain, it would not be this quick.
CRASH!!
The window shattered. The groaning of men and women, young and old, got louder and louder. Screaming were heard behind the groaning. I peeked outside from a small window frame my eyes grew wide.
Big groups of disfigured humans - more like zombies - covered every inch of the house. Even the windows and doors. From the looks on their faces, they were running away from something. Something bigger was heading their, our, way and I cannot help but wonder. Will I survive here?
