Chereads / Arachnomancer / Chapter 37 - Hatred

Chapter 37 - Hatred

Gore warning: It doesn't happen until Vulki's POV. You can skip over it if you want. It's just to let you guys know that she is not a good person basically.

Drow POV-

When we see the human leave the nest we are given a big surprise. He comes out with more than one broodmother. Honestly, if it wasn't for the smaller spiders with the same appearances, I would think them to be just a normal spider..... What is that? A blob with weird appendages stumbles over as well.

These are his subordinates? Dangerous. I was thinking that we could perhaps ally ourselves with him but, with his war potential, it would be better to assassinate him. We have given up the element of surprise. Still, if we could escape.... We have those. Even in the event that we fail.... We need to lower his war potential.

Gin POV-

Walking up to the drow scouts, I see that the leader is deep in thought. She looks up at me and seems confused.

"Hello? You guys wanted to come into contact with us?" Gin

"Ahem. Yes, it seems that we were mistaken. Excuse us." Drow scout leader

What the hell? This is suspicious as hell. I order the spiderlings to surround these guys. They end up panicking and draw small things from under their coats....? FUCK! Crossbows fire at me. My vision is blocked by red. Huhhh. Xelu....

*Boom

*Boom

*Boom

A couple of massive chunks are missing. Through one I can see the scouts panicking as they are surpressed by the spiderlings..... My blood feels cold. A feeling is drudged up. Hatred.

Set immediately reacts and starts drawing on the ground to create an image. She detaches herself to do it easier. I walk up to the drow who have been wrapped in webbing already. Kess and Vulki are fuming mad as well.

"Vulki, extract everything you can from them. It doesn't matter how you do it. Kess, go monitor the battlefield. We left it without a commander which is dangerous." Gin

""Yes"" Vulki and Kess

I am not consumed by my feelings. It could be due to steel mind or from having my mind altered from being part spider. It doesn't matter. What matters is my negligence. I should not have walked towards unknown entities with no real planning.

Looking at the ground, I see a crossbow along with a small quiver. Explosive crossbow bolts. Something I did not expect to find on a drow. I take them. They are powerful. I have the urge to just break them but, that is nonsensical. Walking back over to Xelu and Set, it seems that Xelu is already healed. I calm down a little seeing that she is fine.

Technically, even if she had died from the bolts, I could re-summon her. However, seeing Xelu almost die evoked terrible feelings within me that I thought would never appear again.

"I'm sorry mashta.... I almost died." Xelu

She says something ridiculous in her robotic tone. I am the one at fault. I am weak. The power and forces that I had built up made me complacent. I make the same mistakes over and over. You always hear about people learning from mistakes but.... It's something that isn't so simple.

My mind always settles back into the same way which results in things like this happening. I will talk to the others later. I want the others to keep me from making unnecessary risks.

"Xelu, you didn't do anything wrong. I made a fatal mistake. Being complacent. I will talk to guys about this later...

Second Gore warning:

Vulki POV-

..... In the short time since I was reborn, master Gin has always been an easygoing and calm person. However, the scene gave me witness to something that makes me boil in hatred. Drow. I was never really fond of that race. It is a rotten pustule. The only way to keep it from harming master Gin is to remove it.

First up is these four though. To try and kill Gin is unforgivable. I may introduce this into Xelu's education as well. The nature of her aspect would make her a talent in this area. I make sure that they have no chance of escaping first. My fire is a good tool for this sort of thing. However it is too quick. I go out an collect a few corpses of the wretched as well as the clumps that were blown out of Xelu.

Really, the only one that will have any real information should be the scout leader. I will leave her for last and take my time with cleansing this rot. Before I kill her I'll just use my mask to rip the information out of her.... I want to see what would happen when I transplant wretched flash into their bodies. Taking up some wire that I had Kess make me a while ago I go to work.

Well, one of the metal spiderlings that I borrowed from Kess does. I am immaterial which makes it hard for me to do this personally. First off I have the spiderling tear a chunk out of a scout's side. I quickly run my fire over the wound to stop the bleeding. Although my fire does not produce heat. It can be used seal up wounds oddly enough. A good thing to keep in mind in case any of the others are hurt.

In that chunk that is taken out, I have some wretched flesh put in. This is a more interesting piece as it is was taken from where two different creatures were fused together. While I have Kess' little one sew in the piece of flesh I start one with the second matter. The parasites from the wretched that me and master took down are not unique to that creature. I have found that some of the others have them swimming through their guts as well.

I have another metal spiderling pull out a parasite. I want to see what they do. None of the spiderlings are susceptible to these creatures but, master Gin should be..... The creature gnaws its way into the second scouts abdomen kicking its legs as it pushes forward. The scout screams horribly. I've seen a lot of things done by the religious faction on experimental subjects but this..... I've only heard screams like this from some of the most horrible things that were done. Perhaps I can make more of these creatures?

These wretched are dangerous indeed but, if kept under heavy watch for any signs of abnormality along with a strong enough containment unit.... I may have a good resource. As the scout's screams get more intense a whole bunch of smaller parasites wiggle their way out of his mouth, ears, nose, and other exits. One even managed to wiggled out of his eye socket. I burn the life away from the few that manage to escape from his body prompting the rest to re-enter his body in a haste. It seems that they are semi-intelligent. Surprising as wretched are not supposed to have much intelligence.

After that I watch as his skin slowly starts to break revealing cavities in his inside. With wretched tadpole creatures swimming in his guts. At this point I hear another scream from the first scout. The flesh that was implanted in him has veins bursting out in it. His previous skin starts tearing and it also starts to turn green and black. I wasn't expecting this. Green blood starts to flood outward as he starts to bulk up squishing him in his web cocoon. His pained screams turn into a weird raged yell. I kill him to prevent any mishaps. I need to dicuss with master Gin about creating a laboratory. I have a feeling that experiments will become a major part of my activities in the future.

I also kill most of the tadpoles as the other scout is now long dead, with only his bones remaining. The other two turn a deathly pale grey. Well, your turn now~.
