Chapter 36 - A Stroke of Genius (4)

At five in the morning, the monotonous sound of the alarm clock kept ringing persistently. Li Tian, in agony, buried his entire body under the blanket, clutching his head, and wailed, "Oh God, it's so noisy! It's only five o'clock, for heaven's sake!"

Mu Zi rubbed his sleepy eyes and suddenly exclaimed, "Five o'clock?"

Li Tian was startled and stared at Mu Zi in confusion.

Mu Zi picked up his phone, quickly got dressed, washed up, and moved so swiftly that it surprised Li Tian.

In less than ten minutes, Mu Zi was already dressed neatly, had packed his backpack, and approached the half-asleep Li Tian with a smile, saying, "Uncle Li, can you lend me some money?"

Li Tian grumbled in his sleep.

"Well, I'll just take it myself," Mu Zi said, grabbing Li Tian's suit jacket from the bed and rummaging through the pockets.

"I'll give it!" Li Tian suddenly sat up, snatched the suit jacket, and pulled out a brand new wallet from the inner pocket, holding it tightly in his hand. He looked at Mu Zi with a resentful look and asked, "How much do you need?"

"Come on..." Mu Zi sighed in exasperation, "I just wanted to borrow some lunch money. Is it necessary to put on such a pitiful look?"

Li Tian heaved a sigh of relief, took out two hundred-yuan bills from his pocket, and handed them to Mu Zi. "It's not that I'm stingy, but we have to get through three to five days of difficulties. At most, five days, hehe, you can even get a new Harley with this!"

Just as he was about to give Mu Zi a lesson in stock investment, Mu Zi quickly grabbed the money and rushed out the door.

"Don't spend all the money today; save some for later!" Mu Zi shouted as the roar of the Harley motorcycle filled the air.

It was still early in the morning, and there were few pedestrians on the street. The entrance of the Green Home Community was empty and quiet. Mu Zi sat on the motorcycle, eagerly watching for any signs of movement inside the gate.

Before half-past five, a familiar figure hurriedly walked out of the community. Her stunning appearance caught Mu Zi's eye, and he suddenly felt refreshed.

Ouyang Liuse walked to the entrance, saw Mu Zi sitting on the motorcycle, and was surprised. A charming smile appeared on her face, and she quickened her pace to approach him.

"Mu Zi, were you waiting for me?"

"Mu Zi, what are you doing here?"

"Good morning, Mu Zi..."

Mu Zi smiled as he watched Ouyang Liuse approaching, imagining the first words she would say to him.

"Oh? This motorcycle looks impressive!" Ouyang Liuse walked up to Mu Zi, circled the motorcycle, and exclaimed in admiration.

Finally, he could enjoy this sweet feeling. Ouyang Liuse sat on the back seat, not too naturally holding onto Mu Zi's waist, and the motorcycle sped through the early morning streets.

This feeling was truly blissful, even though... when he had helped Ye Zi with her surgery, he hadn't felt this happy. So now, he could be sure that he had completely and irreversibly fallen in love with this girl named Ouyang Liuse!

Of course, Mu Zi couldn't see Ouyang Liuse's expression as she sat on the back seat. Her beautiful hair fluttered in the wind, and her face inexplicably blushed.

This boy wasn't particularly tall, nor did he have immense wealth or power, but why did she have such a wonderful feeling when she was with him? This feeling made her feel safe and... happy.

Unconsciously, she wrapped her arms around Mu Zi's waist tighter and tighter...

They had to deliver fresh milk to households in three different communities. With Mu Zi's help, they quickly shuttled between the floors of various buildings, and the milk in the boxes gradually decreased.

Watching Ouyang Liuse, who was now sweating profusely and blushing, Mu Zi felt a sudden pain in his heart. Ouyang... I swear, I'll make sure you don't have to endure this hard and tiring life for much longer...

While he was lost in thought, a charming fragrance suddenly wafted over, and when he looked closely, he saw that Ouyang Liuse had taken out a pink handkerchief and was carefully wiping the sweat from his face.

"Mu Zi... thank you," she said gently.

"You're welcome, actually, I should thank you," Mu Zi smiled, "Thank you for giving me a chance to stay fit and for the opportunity to be accompanied by a beautiful girl..."

Strange, when did I become so... smooth-talking?

Mu Zi wondered and quickly thought of a fitting idiom for himself.

"Well, let's go eat," Mu Zi said to Ouyang Liuse.

Ouyang Liuse nodded obediently, and the two of them crossed the street to the breakfast shop on the other side. Mu Zi watched as Ouyang Liuse carefully folded the pink handkerchief and put it in her pocket. Those hands, despite doing so much heavy work, were still so charming, slender, and fair, radiating a lustrous glow like fine jade. If he could hold those hands in his... Mu Zi imagined the indescribable feeling of holding those soft, boneless hands several times but ultimately gave up...

Just as the two of them were about to cross the road, two bicycles suddenly came speeding from the right. The bicycles were moving quite fast, and with the continuous ringing of their clear bells, the one in front zoomed past them. Ouyang Liuse, startled, just turned her head when the bike behind them was already upon her, heading straight for a collision! The cyclist also saw that there was no way to avoid it and screamed in fear!

Seeing that a collision was imminent, Mu Zi acted quickly, grabbed Ouyang Liuse's arm, and pulled her back just in time to narrowly avoid the collision. The bicycle passed closely by their feet and then came to a sudden stop not far ahead.

Mu Zi held the pale-faced Ouyang Liuse, walked towards the cyclist, and his eyes blazed with anger.

The cyclist was a young girl, around fifteen or sixteen years old, wearing a white sportswear, white sneakers, and her black hair tied up in a cute ponytail behind her head. At the moment, the girl was leaning on her bicycle, gasping for breath, and as she saw Mu Zi approaching with an angry look, she tried to speak but only triggered a fit of coughing.

"Why are you riding like this?" Mu Zi scolded.

"I'm sorry... *cough*... my bad... we were racing... I'll be more careful next time... *cough*… I'm really sorry, I have to go..." The girl stammered and bowed excessively, her lips moving rapidly, and before Mu Zi could react, she was already back on her bike, racing away.

"Uh, this..." Mu Zi pointed at the girl's rapidly retreating figure, speechless for a moment.

"Well, since nothing happened, and she apologized, let's go eat," Ouyang Liuse tugged at his sleeve and said softly.

Mu Zi sighed and walked with Ouyang Liuse side by side towards the breakfast shop. As they walked, he couldn't help but feel that something was amiss, and he felt a strange and intoxicating sensation coursing through his entire body!

Their hands were already tightly intertwined...
