The impact must have hurt him a lot as he could hardly get back to his feet after that and the lynx must have seen that as a good opportunity to finish him so it turned its attention back to Clyde.
But Syra would not allow the lynx to get near Clyde especially now that he was in a vulnerable state.

And this time, Syra used a stone to throw at the lynx. She ran in the open making herself an easy target.
That must have triggered the lynx as smoke started to come out from its nostrils, as though it was preparing to spit fire at any moment.
But maybe thinking that it would be an easy death for Syra, the monster decided otherwise.
Instead, it pounced at Syra.
Syra felt the impact of its paw hitting her body squarely.
She fell on the ground feeling sore all over her body. The lynx's head was on top of her and its massive fangs were just a few inches away from her face.
