I awake slowly which is uncharacteristic of me. I take a deep breath for a yawn and smell something delicious. I open my eyes to realize that the smell is De'rax. During the night I somehow buried my nose into his neck. But I slept good considering where we were at. I wasn't ready to move yet so I closed my eyes again and relaxed back against De'rax.
CLANK CLANK CLANK
The loud noise rang through the room. I opened my eyes to see Grib standing at the door of the cage banging a cane across the bars.
"Ah you are awake now. I was wondering how long you would sleep."
De'rax sat up looking at Grib. "What is you want now?"
"Is that any way to talk to person who holds your life? Hmpf. I came to tell you that I have figured out what I am going to do with you. Now do not get excited on me I am just trying to be magnanimous."
"Magnanimous huh? Ha you like to think you are Grib. Your as black within as you are without."
De'rax spoke with as much derision as I was thinking.
"Well well I thought you still had a spark in you. Good you will need it. For I have a job for you. Since I am going to be having the Wolf make me guards. You will be there to train them. Just like you trained this one."
Train me? What the devil? De'rax didn't train me. We just practiced together to become better together. I snorted again. Grib eyed me since he couldn't make out the noise I made. He shook his head and went back to his imperious orders.
" I will start my new guards today. After I have had my meal break. Need my nourishment for me to handle this. Till the guards arrive you will be moved to a room."
A room I thought. Does this mean both of us are to be moved together?
"Now I see that look on your faces. You are to be moved separately. I cannot have my new trainer running off with my breeder now can I. You lord General will be chained to a wall in your room as to not run before my plan is ready. My dear breeder you will be moved to my breeding room. It is all ready and waiting for you."
Grib starts wheezing his laugh as he motions for us to be pulled out. A chain is wrapped around my neck and tightened. While they chain De'rax hand and feet to keep him from attacking. I growled a warning but they just pulled the chain tighter I gasped when it cut off my air.
"Be a good little breeder now. I do not want to have to hurt my property before I get its use."
Pulled from the room through a maze of corridors I lost track. Then De'rax was pushed the opposite direction at a fork. I tried to follow but was dragged away. I watched as long as I could before I was shoved into a room. There wasn't anything in this room either. But instead of bars it was windows. All four walls were see through. I felt like an animal in a zoo. The chain was removed and I was kicked away from the door as it was slammed shut.
I looked around to see that through the glass was a bigger room. With scientists watching and making notes. I whimpered. I was at a loss. I felt empty. So I laid down by the door at my back and watched and waited. I waited and waited. The scientists came in and out apparently they were waiting for something to.
Grib came to talk to the scientists but what they said wasn't what he wanted to hear. He began to yell at them cursing in his language over and over.
"Find a way now. I want this done today. Do not make me wait. I want answers."
With those words he stormed out. The scientists went to the back table and started discussing. I watched for as long as I could but I was still tired and eventually nodded off.
