Slap
'What the...'
Slap
'Hey, what the fuck is going on?'
Van was perplexed by what just happened. Until now, he hasn't felt anything, but now, not only did he feel pain by being slapped in the face, but he also heard it as a clap of thunder in his ear.
Van narrowed his eyes slightly as he suddenly could see light plastered in his face since the first time he went unconscious.
Slap
"...."
Slap
"Only because you are strong doesn't mean you can bully me." Snapped Van, but in the end, he couldn't do anything. Even if he wakes up now, he wouldn't say anything to Akka for being slapped.
'But strange, why did she save me again?' This was a question that Van asked himself since he entered the dungeon, but in the end, he didn't find the answer.
And at that moment, Van felt a bit nauseous as the world was spinning. Feeling his body move again but with a little bit of difficulty made Van tear a little in his eyes.
Holding his head with his hands and narrowing his eyes slightly, he could see that he was in a dark place again, but the illumination of the tent was enough for him to look around.
The first thing that he saw was snow sitting in his chest and narrowing her eyes slightly as she looked at him.
"You..." Van choked in his saliva because he understood that snow was the one that has been slapping him continuously until now. Don't animals know that you can beat the man, but you can't slap him in the face?
"You should thank her because if it wasn't for the heavenly rabbit, you should have been dead already. Who would have thought that a rabbit can have the holy light?" A low voice sounded on the other side of the tent. Van could see the outline of a shadow, but he couldn't see too well.
"Akka?"
"I think we are close to the exit of this dungeon." Akka didn't answer him, but it was more she was talking to herself. Her voice sounded weak, or probably she was just talking with a low voice.
"Ahahhahahhahahha" Van couldn't help but laugh out loud with tears on his eyes, but amidst his laughter, he also choked in his saliva. Why was he laughing? As far as he knows, this place was extremely dangerous, and making noises here was probably suicide. Yet, at this moment, Van laughed, other people in his situation would have stayed as quiet as possible, or probably they would have cried with a low voice, but he didn't want to cry anymore. He wanted to remove all of the curses that he has in his body with his laugh.
On the other side of the tent, Akka has placed her back against the wall and was listening to Van's crazy laughter.
She frowned a little bit. "Why are you laughing?" She couldn't help but think that maybe he has gone crazy.
"We are going to die anyway, that's why... hah hahaha." Listening to Van's answer made her eyes turn cold.
Rising in her feet with a bit difficulty, she walked towards Van slowly and with unsteady steps.
Drip... Drip...
Van could hear something dripping on the ground in every step that Akka took towards him, and that made him recall something. But in the next moment, he forgot all about it and he couldn't help but suck in a mouthful of cold air.
Akka's face was before him, from her chin to her right eye was soaked in blood. The wound was horrible, and he could even see the skull, her right eye in his old world would be considered completely cripple.
Van felt sorry and guilt inside him, sorry because every woman likes to be pretty, and guilt because if it wasn't for him, probably she wouldn't lose her right eye.
"Your life is not in your hands anymore."
Van didn't answer her but only reached his hand towards her face, but she just shrugged it off. They both stayed silent but they pretty much understood what the other one wanted. They made a silent tactic agreement, and Akka parted from Van and went to the other side of the tent and sat down.
Van couldn't help but sigh as he felt sorry for her, but at that moment, he recalled something, and he couldn't help but shake his head and sigh again. He forgot that he was now in a world of magic, and pretty much everything is possible here. But Van at this time still didn't know that the eyes are the windows of the soul and to heal them something extraordinary is needed.
"Hey, are you there?" Knowing that Akka is going to be fine, Van spoke to the system, but he didn't receive any response.
"Oh right, probably I should say status open first to connect?"
"Status open"
'Ding'
{You have two new messages.}
{Do you want to open the messages?}
{Yes/No}
"Messages? Is this the technology of the gods? It feels kind of strange." Of course, Van felt it strange because it reminded him of earth, did the Gods copied the concept from the earth, or was it the Gods that shared the technology? Of course, these were just a few mad questions that were brought on his mind when he saw the messages.
"Yes, open the messages." Said Van and put the other thoughts on the back of his mind.
{A unseen message from the guide.}
"Hey Van, if you're reading this, it means that you are still alive." The lively voice of the system could be heard directly in his mind, but this time Van could hear that her voice also has some fatigue in it and some excitement?
"What dogshit luck you have, cough, anyway..." Van couldn't help but twitch his mouth in displeasure, but he couldn't do anything but hear what she is about to say.
"Anyway, I just wanted to say that for your luck, you have to thank me and the heavenly rabbit, otherwise, you would have been human meat for some creatures. I broke the rules to help you, so for some time, I would not be around. Hopefully, you can escape from here. From your beloved." Van couldn't help but twitch his mouth and think that the system has become more and more like they are old friends.
But Van couldn't deny that they've been together for months already since he came here from another world, so he can only accept it. As for thanking her? He has to seriously consider it, if he gets out from here, then he should. If not, then he should curse her from the netherworld. Wait, even if he dies, his soul would just disappear so he couldn't go there even if he wanted to, so he can only do it beforehand.
Nodding his seriously and shaking his head slightly, Van was about to say open the second messages, but another voice interrupted him from the other side of the tent.
"It would be best if you see where we would be going next so you won't be in a daze too much when we set off. It is just on the other side of the tent." Said Akka in a low voice as Van could her shadow pointing with her finger at the other side of the tent.
"Have you seen my cane?" Said Van as he looked around him, and also checked the inventory, but he couldn't find it.
"I have no idea." Was the only response Akka gave him before turning quiet.
Van didn't have another choice but to take another cane that he has in his inventory. He found this cane in the weapons platform with the other weapons on the second floor of the inheritance site.
Walking towards the direction that Akka pointed, Van could feel that the more he walks, the more he could feel the wind turning sharp. It was like an invisible sword was aimed at him since he started walking towards this direction.
While feeling nervous about this peculiar feeling, Van's steps stopped abruptly, and his eyes couldn't help but twitch. Wakening up from his nightmare world that he has been since who knows when Van remained calm because he knows that remaining calm and thinking things through has a higher chance of survival. But now he felt something boiling inside him that wanted to curse out loud to whoever created this inheritance site.
