Ren decided to pop a crystal from a female alpha into his mouth and swallow it unchewed.

First, while trying to taste the crystal that he had been holding in his mouth for a while, he enjoyed a terrific sour aroma.

Contrary to the artificiality of the energy pills, this wild crystal was delicious to Ren. As always, as soon as the crystal landed in his stomach, it would evaporate and mix into the system. But unlike last time, this crystal was a bit bigger. That's why he had trouble swallowing.

Five other friends had used them before, but none of them were getting the same pleasure as Ren. They even told Ren that although the energy pills had a bad taste, they were almost identical in their crystals.

It was a great mystery.

But mysterious or not, the unique taste of the crystal in Ren's mouth was quite good. And that's what mattered at that moment. Even if it tasted bad, he wouldn't care too much, as he didn't expect much anyway. He managed to swallow the crystal with a sudden move. At the same time, he began to use the energy technique of the Xarnin Clan.

His breathing was in and out in a peculiar rhythm, and Ren relaxed as he felt the whirlpool forming in his stomach. As usual, the whirlpool turned meditation that would normally take too long into a trivial task. The wolf's gray-green crystal dissolved in a few seconds, leaving behind a very high amount of energy.

Ren had made sure that these crystals contained about 10 times more and purer energy than a regular pill. At least that's how he calculated it mathematically. But nothing was certain, as each crystal was different in size and color.

"Maybe its size shows its energy and its color shows its element. What is my element that I am good at?" As soon as these questions crossed his mind, he felt regret and concentrated even more on meditation.

Ren's dantian began to tremble as a louder roar than last time was heard in his stomach. As the trembling continued unabated, the roar slowly subsided, along with rumbling sounds like heartbeats. When the tremor finally ceased, Ren's dantian grew a bit larger and became smoother. It was as if the whole trembling process was just to smooth out the jagged shape of the dantia. No matter how hard Ren tried, he couldn't see any other change.

"Aaaah. Was that all?"

But Ren knew there was a change. He opened his eyes and looked at his own skin with his hands. He felt a small numbness and tingling under his skin for a minute or so.

Finally, when the awkwardness was over, he felt the veins thicken a little, which could be seen even under his skin.

The major blood vessels in his entire body and the energy channels connected to these vessels were strengthened.

In addition, the acupuncture points and meridians (cavities in the body that can draw some energy) that he used for meditation and magic techniques were cleaner, stronger and more functional.

Ren felt that his body was producing parts that were more accustomed to energy with each increasing level. It was as if the dantian was a simple central brain, and as long as he gave enough energy to this brain, the dantian also realized the developments that the body needed. Of course, Ren wasn't sure about that. He could also be wrong. He quickly forgot his theory and continued to study his body, laughing.

He went back to meditation to see how much the limits he had when he was a third-level mage had changed at the fourth level. He inhaled and exhaled…he had reached sixty minutes of new breathing time.

Sixty minutes. It was twice the previous level!

He stood up and let the flames from his right hand engulf his entire arm. At the third level, he had already perfected the ability to manipulate flames with small commands from his mind.

But after he evolved, his energy control became even easier. With a slight wave of his hand, he created a giant whirlwind of flames in his palm. With its new level, this swirling storm had grown a bit larger in shape, but was more than two meters in length. It wasn't just a swirling piece of wind and fire, it was a truly dangerous storm.

Ren could now equip his techniques, created with his energy, with the characteristics of real natural events. At least their fire was hotter and the crystal ice he had created was colder.

The little storm he created with his fire could make a real storm if he let it out.

"I wonder if I somehow created a real tornado with it, would it just keep spinning hotly?

The fire will probably go out in a few seconds." At that moment, he wanted to unleash the fiery storm in his hand and find the answer to the question. But when he remembered the tent he was in and the previous fire, he reduced the energy he sent to his arm and turned the spell into a simple fire wave.

When he moved his hand a little more, the flames flew out of his hand, just like a worm, the tip turning where it wanted. Ren didn't do it on purpose!

Continuing to spin, the flame that affected a meter around him shot out from the open side of the tent. Ren followed her in panic.

The fiery whirlpool swirled like a snake's leap and went straight and crashed into a big rock.

A small crackling sound was heard. A rock that was too heavy for a normal person to move was broken into several pieces!

What impressed Ren the most was that when he tried to use this technique before, he had never been able to send it to his intended destination. One of the pluses of getting to the fourth level was that Ren was able to use his energy for more concentrated tasks. He even knew that if Ren did this technique again, he would be able to aim.

He immediately tried it and created a new fiery vortex. Concentrating, he sent a serpent-like fire to the same cliff. This time, the snake, which went less effectively and harmlessly to the stone, instantly dispersed.

"Maybe I did something without knowing it."

For half an hour, Ren used a whirlpool of fire from countless snakes, researching what he had done right the first time. Although the technique did not take much energy, it was tiring as it required a lot of attention and concentration.

At one point, Ren felt a headache and tried the technique for the last time in anger.

This time, the fire he used emotionally managed to damage the stones with great destruction. It was even stronger than when he used it the first time.

"Emotions affect my energy. I was very happy the first time, now I'm angry. Can emotions have other effects on energy?" He added a new question mark to his list, as he did not have a teacher to ask his question.

..

After trying a few more times, he felt the headache getting worse, and he drank some water and sat down on the ground beside the stones. With a proud expression in his eyes, he wanted to tell his mother and father about this success...

"I don't have a family. I keep forgetting."

Ren squeezed the fires in his right hand for the last time, to launch them in the form of a normal fireball. He had learned this technique from Nami. The witch girl Ren rescued was tiny and innocent with blue hair. The two got along well, as the girl was the only sorcerer-only in the group other than Ren.

Ren struggled with all his might to enlarge the fireball, which was stuck in his hand for ten seconds, until it was six inches long. All of Ren's strength was gone as he created this ball of fire that looked just like a burning red tennis ball. He could make two or three of these even when he was at her best. Now even one of them was difficult.

On a small command of the mind, he threw the ball of fire against a large boulder. As the fireball hit, a tiny slit formed in the body of the stone. He had only taken minor damage to the rock when the flames were extinguished.

With a little calculation, Ren measured that the serpentine firestorm he had just used was at least five or six times stronger than Nami's fireball.

One of them shattered a rock and burned its surroundings, while the other could not even create a large crack. Ren tiredly returned to the tent and sat down on the ground. He gathered her spare clothes next to her and made a small pillow. He was so peaceful when Ren lay down and draped a large woolen coat over himself.

At the end of this night, he had a few hours until the hunt, which would begin in the morning. His eyes closed quickly.

He was smiling in sleep.
