[Grandora City]
With the fall of the initial 11 countries targeted by the Sentinel and their accomplices, the rest of the surviving countries were targeted next until the whole world is completely overrun by the Chaos beings.
Even though the news about the attack made the other uninvolved countries become self aware and immediately prepare for possible invasion, their efforts proved to be in vain as they were overwhelmed by the enemy forces until the majority of them were killed and few only survived.
Like that Russia fell, China was burned, Thailand was razed, Mexico was overrun, Australia was abandoned, and many more. From that point on, the only place that wasn't attacked by the enemy as of yet, was the man made island city, Grandora city. This city which was nicknamed as the city for those refugee from the countries that fell in the 1st catastrophe, is now renamed as the last fortress of humanity.
After all in just 1 months time, all the countries that survived the first catastrophe had been destroyed. A staggering total of 3,000,000,000+ casualty. No matter what status you have in life, all of them fell agaisnt the invading forces. Due to that Grandora city backed the last safe haven for the surviving humanity.
In that moment Head General Alex eyes finally opened as he woke up from his almost 1 month comatose. The moment he woke up, sweats begun pouring down like crazy as he shot up from the bed and tried to access what was happening to him currently. After all the last time he remember before passing out was that he is the battlefield fighting agaisnt an impossible enemy. In fact he knew that he was also planning to go all out and sacrifice his life, but the moment some helpers appear and refuse to listen to his order, that was the moment he lost consciousness which brought him to this point of time.
As he was trying to remember what happened to him, a nurse then came in for his checkup, only to be shocked when she saw the Head general finally gaining consciousness after a very long comatose. The moment the nurse realized that the Head general had awoken, she quickly ran back to the counter desk in order to inform the other people who await for their Head General's return.
After a few minutes doctors quickly rushed into the room, as they checked Alex out and even checking his vital signs and any anomalies that might appear in him waking up. Thankfully everything was normal, giving the attending doctor a sigh of relief.
After final checking everything, the attending doctor and some nurses finally walked out of the room and giving space for important people to enter and welcome back the head general.
"Alex!"
".... Lieutenant?"
"Don't call me by that rank for this day, we're not in our uniform"
"Ah I see... by the way Owen what happened? Where are we?"
In that moment Head Chief Oliver came in as he saluted towards the Head general.
"Head General! Head Chief Oliver greets your recovery"
"At ease.... take it easy, as Owen just said, we are not in our uniform"
"... I can't do that, there are a lot of judging ears and eyes everywhere Head General"
"Fine! You do you... so what is it?"
"Yes sir! Currently you are Grandora city, you have arrived in this place about a month ago and was admitted to this hospital at the same day, from there you underwent comatose and unsure when you will regain consciousness"
"Grandora city? Who brought me here?"
"Some soldiers did! Of course I was also dragged along" answered by Owen
"Then what about America?"
"America.... the United States had fallen sir! Including all the countries all around the world, currently this city is the last surviving fortress for humanity, due to that we have an influx of refugees and places are filled with people who just lost their home" answered by Head Chief Oliver
"The last fortress... so this place is our last stand? Humanity... lost?"
"We haven't lost yet Alex! As long as this place doesn't fall, humanity will still have a chance to reclaim our world" said by Owen
"... Your right! Now that we know what the enemy can do, we can better prepare for them... call for a meeting with all the available... surviving leaders, since you said that this is the last fortress, i assume that everyone who survived outside is already here right?" Asked by Head General Alex as he looked at Oliver
"Yes!"
"Good! Call them, we need a meeting in order to discuss on how to defend this base, after all based on what we saw, the enemy plans to wipe out humanity, meaning this place would not be safe too, it's only a matter of time before they get here"
"Understood"
After hearing those orders, Head Chief Oliver begun to move, as he will set up everything in order to discuss their action plan. On the otherhand Alex looked up at the ceiling as he exhaled and asked Owen.
"Is there anything else I need to know too?"
"... Yes! Thomas... he is dead, he and the other soldiers and agents stayed to give us ample of time to escape, since America fell, its is presumed that he is dead... unfortunately we can't retrieve his corpse, after all America is literally filled with enemy forces right about now and retrieving his corpse is tantamount to a suicide mission"
"... I see... Thomas is dead... he always said he wanted to have a family and grow old with his descendants, looks like that wish is just a mere dream now"
After saying that, a long silence filled the room, as both Owen and Alex lament on the lost of their good comrade.
Meanwhile located somewhere in India, Uno is currently resting on the stone chair he had formed, as he opens his eyes and saw some of his team inside the room with nothing else to do. It's been a month since he had made a move and wrecked America, even though his last opponent did gave him trouble due to his chaos ability, he still was able to overpower him and managed to get a gift from a dead person.
Now that he recovered completely, it was time for him to move and finish off the last hurdle that prevents them from completely taking over this world. It won't take long now until this world is finally his.
