Chapter 176 - Chapter 176 : [Operation Main (Moscow)]

[Cape Fligely]

Some time has passed since the commanding officers had announced that the operation was over due to the fact that they have already located the terrorist group in Moscow. Naturally this took everyone by surprise, after all they joined this operation with the hopes of actually achieving something than simply being a scout, but due to circumstances, the operation ended in that instant as fast as it was given to them.

Even Kanzaki felt conflicted of loss and somewhat relieved. He was at loss on what to do as he didn't expect to have the operation end that moment without him being able to do anything, he also felt relived that he was finally out of harm's way now that the operation had ended. But if he were given a chance to say out loud why he felt at a loss, it was because he felt like they were being led by the nose all this time by the terrorist group.

He doesn't know if that was the case, but that's how he felt after almost traveling all over the small part of Russia.

As for Alice she only felt relived at the same time worried on  Claire's circumstances. Even if they haven't actually spent time with the girl physically, they were still able to meet her through some video calls towards Ryuuji's phone. With such interaction and constant meeting over the net, they somehow grew slightly attached towards the girl at that time and feel worried in place of Ryuuji who was currently in a British hospital and recuperating from his wounds in battle.

At the same time Isabelle was currently conversing with Ai who is located at another checkpoint area as they discussed regarding the operation that Jinwoo will undertake. After all Jinwoo is part of a dangerous operation which is only entrusted towards Agents who have sufficiently experience in field work outside the wall but not as strong and experienced as the field agents.

Throughout their course of conversation, both Isabelle and Ai kept exchanging information to the point that the former even exchanged the information of the trap that he and Alice had been baited into. With that Ai seemed a bit worried at the same time confident that he and Alice could handle such situation.

In the end as a friendly exchange, Ai informed that Jinwoo's group was nearing Moscow at this very moment as a huge battle will eventually unfold all over the city. If they ever plan to actually join in the chaos, then they would need to actually move out immediately since Moscow was quite a distance away from cape fligely.

When such words were relayed to him, Kanzaki then somehow fell into a thought as he decides on what to do next. But as he thought of this through, the rest of the guys within his group had finished packing up their stuff and begun boarding the transport aircraft that is heading back towards the checkpoint on the country's walls

With everyone slowly boarding in the vehicle, Kanzaki quickly rushed up towards the commanding officer Zhang which garner some attention from the crowd and pulled him to the side for a slight conversation.

"State your business" ordered by Commanding officer Zhang

"Sir... I want to go to Moscow"

Hearing his words, Commanding officer Zhang was shocked for a bit as he quickly come closer towards Kanzaki and talked to him even more discreetly.

"Do you even understand what your asking for soldier?"

"... I do... but i still want to go there, can you do something about it?"

"Why? that place will soon become a warzone! do you want to just throw your life away just for some measly achievement? I know most of you here are just inclined to join the operation due to your greed and expectation to earn some achievement and be well known in your organization just like some field agents... but a measly achievement such as joining the fight in Moscow isn't worth it if you will endanger your life and end up dead in the end"

".... I know what I'm entering into, I'm not doing this just for some achievement that i could simply attain just by spending more time working for the organization.... It is more deeper than that"

"....."

"Those terrorist had taken the girl which is somewhat important from my colleague in London, with all the moment we spent with her through calls, we somehow felt attached to her already... I cant just stand by and watch how everything unfolds when i know she's in danger, plus we have somewhat an ugly first encounter history with the terrorist group, so i wanted to save Claire while also giving a payback from what the terrorist group had done to us a few months ago"

"So its about chivalry..."

"...a what?"

"you want to fight that chaotic battle based on your feelings.... your basically swayed by your own emotions, this isn't a battle between a monster and a human kid, this is a bottle between a human and a human, which involves wits, tactic and strategy and not by combat prowess, experience and instincts.... no matter how strong you are, you can always be defeated by someone weaker than you due to them actually using their heads in battle"

"....."

"There is a reason why your head chief in your sub-headquarters assigned you to be part of the spearhead group, that means is that they still haven't seen you having enough capacity to actually fight such battle"

"..."

"Tell me, how many times have you fought a human in battle?"

"... I fought one back in the Philippines"

"Is that enough reference to say that your skilled in fighting against your own kind? how many humans have you killed both directly and indirectly?"

"....."

"See my point? Your not ready yet, no matter how big you have accomplished, you would always still be a greenhorn in my eyes"

With that commanding officer Zhang turned away as he headed towards the aircraft, but before he could fully leave behind Kanzaki, the person himself called out to him from behind.

"I know that i still don't have the qualifications to prove myself, but please let me! let me prove myself"

"... I've heard those words plenty of times during my service in the military, in the end they all ended up either dead or crippled... this talk is over, get in the aircraft soldeir... don't make me repeat myself"

With its back turned away from him, Commanding officer Zhang entered the aircraft and leaving Kanzaki contemplating on what to do now. If he dare to disobey his orders, he will then be filed with insubordination notice and by punished by the organization justly. Even if that wont fire him, such offense will naturally put a dirt on his track record and stain his reputation towards the outside world.

Weighing the pros and cons of insubordination, Kanzaki sigh in deep breath as he too went inside the aircraft which is preparing for its take off.
