Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 [Fainted]

"XieXie! Over here!!" Someone shouted loudly from a distance, it was Min Joo. Her arms were flailing here and there, trying to catch Min JinXie's attention.

It took a few more shouts and flailing of her arms before Min Joo could successfully receive Min JinXie's attention. Min JinXie slowly weaved herself through the sea of people and stood in front of Min Joo in a daze.

Min Joo then held her hand and softly said: "Let's watch the Dragon Dance. It is pretty lively there, maybe a lively scene can help you." Min Joo spoke very softly, as if coaxing a child to sleep.

Min JinXie nodded lifelessly in agreement.

Min Joo smiled forcefully with eyes full of worry. She was extremely worried for JinXie these days. From the day they arrived here in China until now has been 3 days, and in those 3 days, Min JinXie was always seen in a dazed state while holding the Jade pendant, engraved with a dragon, given by her mother.

She gave JinXie's whole body a check up, but nothing was found wrong with her body. Min Joo was, in fact, a famous doctor for her knowledge and skills in the field of medicine. But right now, in JinXie's case, she couldn't even diagnose the root cause of JinXie's problem. She was completely useless. Min Joo tried to make JinXie do her favorite hobby. But the way she did it was as lifeless as ever. Min Joo has done all she could do, but nothing seems to be working. She even tried to separate the Jade pendant JinXie always held. But the moment the pendant was out of JinXie's grasp, she would start gasping for air, as if she were deprived from it. Her eyes wide open with visible fear and extreme hopelessness.

Seeing her reaction Min Joo immediately returned the pendant to her. JinXie's reaction was what shocked Min Joo the most. Fear and hopelessness. She has only seen her show the emotion called fear twice. And now was only the second time. JinXie rarely shows other emotions. She was always chattering happily about random matters and if she was not chattering she would be blushing silently, thinking about her Yaoi ships doing their 'stuff'. But either way she was smiling, she was always smiling. She has never shown any emotions in the likes of hopelessness.

At that moment, her look was so heartbreaking to see. As if she lost everything and hope never existed in the first place.

Min Joo could not help herself but feel helplessness. She hugged JinXie tightly. But she didn't let the helplessness take over her system:"There's got to be a way to help you, we just haven't found it yet." It was unknown whether she was cheering, JinXie or herself, up.

Right now, they are currently in the middle of watching a Dragon Dance. It was part of the festivities as they were currently celebrating the 'Spring Festival' also known as Chinese New Year.

Min Joo had a big bright smile plastered on her face, she was clearly enjoying the dance. But JinXie beside was not faring well. Her head was aching like crazy and she was hallucinating, she was sweating all over due to the pain. Every time she puts her gaze on the dragon the dancers were controlling the dragon, for one moment, would become a real dragon then the next second, it would become a fake dragon controlled by the dancers. And every time the realistic dragon shows up, it's gaze was always landed on her.

'What the hell!? The real dragon looks so majestic with it's shiny, red and fiery scales. While the controlled dragon cannot even compare to the real dragon's shiny scales. The world is truly unfair! And why is that dragon looking at me like that? Did I unknowingly offend it before? It looks as if it is going to eat me because I killed it's whole family! It is giving me the creeps!' JinXie thought while she gazed back at the dragon.

The hallucinating continued for almost 5 minutes.

Until she couldn't take it anymore, she fainted on the spot. And a dragon dancer coincidentally tripped and fell, affecting the dance and causing the dragon they were controlling to also fall over. Min Joo couldn't hear JinXie falling down because of the bustling noise of the lively area.

" Oh no..! They fell down..." Min Joo softly spoke in disappointment. Her head was slightly bowed down because she was looking at the fallen dragon. She raised her head and was about to look at JinXie, but then, she saw something, or more specifically, someone familiar across the street.

"Huh? He's--!.. XieXie!!" Min Joo turned to look at JinXie's direction to tell her about it. But what came into her view was JinXie lying on the ground unmoving.

Min Joo immediately came to JinXie and checked her pulse: ' So weak!--' JinXie's pulse was extremely weak, and it was continuously getting weaker. Min Joo was seriously panicking right now.

She wanted to carry Min Joo to the nearest hospital, but JinXie was too heavy for her. Then a thought came into her mind:" AhHyun!!" Min Joo shouted at the top of her lungs then looked across the street, and finally her gaze landed on a man.

The man's was wrapped up in thick clothing. Even his face was completely covered, not a single skin could be seen.

"AhHyun, please help me.." Min Joo pleaded at the man while hugging JinXie. The man sighed before crossing the street and halted in front of Min Joo and Min JinXie. He spread his arms wide open and then carried JinXie.

"Hyun let's take XieXie to the nearest hospital, let's hurry!" Min Joo Urged the man.

Min JinXie is currently standing on a place with not even a bit of light, only endless darkness. She didn't know where she was at present so she didn't dare move from her spot.

After a few minutes, JinXie squinted her eyes, she could finally see a small light from a distance. Not long after, the light became too bright that she had no choice but to cover her eyes.
