Chereads / The True Master / Chapter 8 - The Local Hoodlums

Chapter 8 - The Local Hoodlums

He stared outside the window and his vision fell on the moon in the sky.

The moon looked beautiful, except that one third of it was missing. This missing part was in small pieces, revolving around the earth, forming an asteroid belt.

So, what was all this?

At the end of the Warring Era, the leaders of the world went all out in their nuclear shelters, and many of them even shot nuclear warheads towards the innocent moon.

The moon shattered, and about one-third of its body was broken into small pieces, which floated away into the space. However, they were caught by the Earth's gravitational field, and could not escape, and thus could only revolve along the path in which the moon traveled.

These little pieces formed the asteroid belt which the world saw today, and the name of the asteroid belt was 'Hanging Death'. It was named thus because every ten years, the Earth would get closer to the asteroid belt, and a meteor would enter the Earth's atmosphere, trying to annihilate the human civilization.

This was where the True Master stood out and prevented the day. With the degradation of technology and problems in its enhancement, only True Masters were the solutions to these problems.

Alas, even these mighty existences had their limitations.

In fact, the third True Master Blue Red even died thirty years ago while trying to stop three massive meteorites.

Since then, the world is in subtle fear, living under the 'Hanging Death'. The people are waiting desperately for the arrival of the new True Master!

Fortunately, the meteorites that fell in the last thirty years weren't much big, and the Peacekeeping Alliance immediately dealt with the aftereffects.

The sun rose, and the gentle golden rays entered the dorms and spoke melodiously to the future budding martial artists.

Get the fOOk up, bastards!

A majority of the kids in the new batch came from the Stone Bull Community, so they could visit their families in these three days.

Param and his dorm-mates packed their bags and locked the dorm room. Each of them had a key, so it wasn't a problem if one of them arrived earlier. The three dorm-mates lived in the north, so they waved Param goodbye as they boarded a tram.

Param read the tram's time-table stuck on a board, and waited for a tram to arrive. The trams of True Fate country were very efficient, and he didn't have to wait much.

An old tram arrived and Param hopped onto it. After buying a ticket for twenty Peace from the conductor, he sat and waited for his destination.

Stone Bull was a Tier III Community, which was the lowest tier, and the residents here lived simple lives. Because of this reason, it was easy to identify those who were non-natives.

Such as the middle-aged person sitting at the opposite seat of Param while reading a newspaper. Beside him, an expensive small leather bag lied beside him.

The clothes he wore were traditional but of high quality, and his eyes were sharp, not like the civilians living in the Community. Unlike the others who slouched in their seats, the middle aged man sat taut straight, showing years of discipline.

Param's eyebrows rose up in surprise. This middle aged person was surely a Martial Artist!

In this world, not anybody was called a Martial Artist. Only those who were part of the Peacekeeping Alliance, and had signed the Blood Contract could truly be called Martial Artists.

Param secretly glanced at him and guessed that he must at least be a Martial Warrior.

As if detecting his gaze, the middle aged man suddenly turned his head and caught him staring. His gaze was sharp, and if he could cut someone up with his gaze, Param right now would be in a thousand pieces!

Seeing his sharp gaze Param felt annoyed and stared back. Although he couldn't defeat the old man in a fight, he'd do it in a staring contest!

The two kept staring at each other for a while, and neither of them even blinked their eyes.

Param felt his eyes turn dry but he persisted by chanting in his mind: Damn old man! Damn old man! Damn old man!

The middle aged man perhaps couldn't bear his childishness and shamelessness, and turned his head back to the newspaper.

Param smirked as he thought: So what if you are angry? So what if you're a big shot?

At this moment the tram stopped at a stop, and a bunch of teenagers along with a muscular man came in. Just one look and one could tell that these kids were rottenly spoiled brats.

The moment they arrived, they laughed and spoke in a loud voice, and curses shot out continuously from their mouths.

The one leading the group was a thin faced boy with a pale complexion, and had dark circles under his eyes. He wore expensive clothes, with a gray colored jacket and a matching gray pant which stopped a little below his knees. His boots were black, and were a good matching for his gray attire. This was the so-called spoiled young master, one who spent his whole day in addictions.

Beside him was a beautiful girl with an arrogant face, and looked at the passengers with disdain, like a princess looking at a bunch of peasants.

Behind the two the muscular man stood with a disdainful face. Apparently, he was the bodyguard of the thin faced youth.

The bunch of lackey kids was very talented, because as soon as their lips moved, praise would shoot out towards the thin faced boy, who would swallow it with a pleased face.

"Duncelord, why are we traveling in this dirty tram? Didn't you say that you could use your father's car whenever you wanted?" the beautiful girl with an arrogant face asked as she stared at the person beside her.

The complexion of the thin faced youth named Duncelord grew even more pronounced as he almost stuttered.

"*cough* Actually, I had already gotten the keys to the car, but suddenly its battery suddenly had some problem. I have sent it to a garage and we'll soon be able to ride it."

"Humph!" the girl snorted disdainfully at the brat and turned her head away.

The thin faced boy was helpless. This girl was his father's friend's daughter and lived in the City, and didn't put even him, who was the son of a top shot of the Community, into her eyes.

The thin faced boy was enamored by her City girl aura, and wanted to be a frog trying to eat a swan's meat.

When the conductor saw this bunch of hoodlums he sweated and quickly ran away into another bogey. After all, he was just a little conductor and couldn't afford to offend this young master.

Suddenly the girl's gaze fell on Param, who was watching their interaction with an amused face.

She walked near him and pointed at him with her thumb while looking at the thin faced youth.

"I want to sit here!"

Param's face became black when she said this.
