Huo Nanchen pulled Gu Ruochu back into her seat.
He held her hand, and the warmth of his rough touch made Gu Ruochu's throat choke again. She raised her eyes and met his deep gaze.
Gu Ruochu pushed him, but he did not move an inch.
She had a furious look on her face as she yelled, "Get lost!"
"Stop moving around!"
Gu Ruochu struggles were all in vain. Huo Nanchen was too strong. She could only turn her head away. Her expression was as cold as ice, and she did not want him to come near her.
"We're going to the hospital for a checkup."
Gu Ruochu pulled her hand away from his palm. She was so angry that she could no longer look at him.
She felt a lump in her throat.
All the grievances that had accumulated in her heart surge up. She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes again.
Ning Tangxi and Cheng Xi were his priorities. Gu Ruochu had never had any status in his eyes.
Huo Nanchen saw that she had stopped causing trouble and returned to the driver's seat to start the car. They did not say a word to each other, and the car soon stopped at the hospital's entrance.
Gu Ruochu opened the car door immediately the car stopped and walked out.
She slung her bag on her shoulders and trotted away in her high heels. Gu Ruochu wanted to get away from him as quickly as she possibly could.
Huo Nanchen followed her closely. He had never seen her throw such a tantrum.
Soon, they reached the entrance to the elevators. They stood awkwardly beside each other as they waited for one of the elevators to open.
When one of the elevator doors finally opened, Gu Ruochu rushed in and did not pay attention as she quickly pressed a button to an upper floor. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that Huo Nanchen had not managed to enter the elevator.
The elevator went up a few floors and everyone got off.
As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw Huo Nanchen's tall figure. He was standing impatiently in front of the elevator doors as if he had been waiting for a while.
Gu Ruochu's heart skipped a beat. She ignored him and entered the adjacent elevator, which was going down to the ground floor. However, the elevator already had the maximum number of people allowable, and there was no room for her.
"This elevator is full." Someone in the elevator pushed her out.
Huo Nanchen stood outside the elevators and watched her. He then took out a cigarette and lit it before returning the lighter back into his pocket. He slowly walked towards her and blew the white smoke from the cigarette into her ear.
It tickled.
Gu Ruochu was angrier after his vile behavior. She turned around and walked towards the corridor.
Huo Nanchen swiftly caught up to her. Gu Ruochu averted her eyes from his gaze.
"Where are you going?"
He placed his hand on the wall and blocked her path.
Gu Ruochu tried to walk around him. She could not believe that Huo Nanchen was willing to waste his time with her.
"Are you that afraid of me?"
His gaze fell on her watch again. His eyes were cold as he took a step forward and forced her back against the wall.
His dangerous aura was mixed with the faint smell of tobacco, causing Gu Ruochu's body to tense up.
"Who gave you this watch? It looks good on you."
Huo Nanchen's hand touched the watch, and Gu Ruochu could no longer ignore him. She took a deep breath and pulled her hand away.
"It's just a watch."
The elevator doors opened, and several people streamed out.
Gu Ruochu could not stand the stares of the people around her, and she pushed Huo Nanchen away in an attempt to leave.
However, Huo Nanchen grabbed her. He pulled her towards him, and she no longer had the strength to fight him off.
