Kayu sat on the chair inside his room. It was a small 3x3 room with minimum furniture inside of it. He smiled and couldn't help to think about his own room on the Royal Palace.
It was totally on the opposite in term of luxuriousness, but he did not know why, since the first day he joined the army and live a normal soldier life, he enjoyed this kind of room more. Although the room was small, it was still provided with basic necessary things such as toilet and wash room. So, he could finely live with it.
He opened the paper given by Commander Lodok back at the office. He read the paper and saw task assignment in the paper. The task description was short and the tittle gave enough idea what the task he should face.
The task was titled as "Protecting Kingdom's Honorable Guests". From the description, he knew that his main task should be became bodyguard for the special guests that came from neighboring kingdom.
Once he finished the letter, his room door suddenly opened with a bang. Two burly men came in from the door and directly grabbed the letter in his hand. Another person came from the door after both first guys came in.
Once the person that grabbed his letter looked at it for a while, he laughed hard. The other guy that came in together with him took the letter and laughed also after he read for a while. Kayu felt little bit off with these sudden changes on his room. It should be a military's lodging right? How come some ruffian came in and made ruckus in a Captain's room?
"Monyet, Ceking, stopped it guys. What are you laughing for? He is our new comrade. Behave a little would you." a voice came from the guy that came in last.
Monyet, a small guy which was the one first grabbed the assignment letter for Kayu, talked to the guy next to the door, "Rondo, you won't believe this. Our new friend was given task as the 'baby sitter' by our Commander. Hahahahahahaha."
The one that called Ceking, had skinny and tall body. He doesn't look like a soldier at all. Unlike him, although Monyet had smaller stature but he had muscular body. At least from a glance, he was the type of monkey-like agile soldier. No one would mess up with this little guy.
Rondo, the last guy, although he was the most normal looking person out of this three, gave a vibe similar to a guy that wasted most of his time in front of a mirror. A kind of guy that would took seriously for their appearance and hair style.
Seeing the weird trio that suddenly barged in through his room, Kayu smiled bitterly and politely asked them, "I'm sorry guys, but who are you peoples? This is military compounds, if I don't get a good explanation, I may take some unnecessary action here."
"Wow that was scary of you, little bro. we're fellow captains of the Roadwood Town. For sure you don't want to capture us right? I'm Rondo, the first captain, this small monkey is Monyet, our third captain and that skinny guy is Ceking, our fifth captain. The rest of us are on duty so it will be only three of us that greet you here." Rondo waved his hand and introduced himself with the other two guys.
"That's right Babysitter, we're fellow brothers. If you need some beautiful widow or want to try some newly-wed wife, you can always count on Big Bro Rondo. Nobody can beat him in this town." Monyet smiled and patted Kayu's shoulder.
"I don't think I have that kind of taste." Kayu replied and glanced weirdly to the first captain, Rondo.
"What with that looks on your eyes? Are you mocking me, newbie?" Rondo suddenly flared up when he received the condemning glance from Kayu.
"My name is Kayu, I just assigned to this base today. As you can see, commander gave me this assignment to study. But I don't know about this 'Babysitter' thing." Kayu smiled and turned his head to talk to Monyet. He felt disgusted with Rondo the womanizer.
Monyet explained, "We called it 'Babysitter' basically because the task is really a babysitting job. It is mentioned on the assignment that we need to protect kingdom's honorable guests, what kind of honorable guest need our, small 100 men captain, protection? If they were on the level of truly important persons such as dukes or kings family, they would assigned a 1000 men commander team at least or even better if the guest is very important, the HQ may deploy the vice general to pick up the guests. Why need us?"
Kayu replied, "So basically, the honorable guest that we're talking about is?"
Monyet cut Kayu's word and talked, "That's it. It is a guest that too small to be considered important but too big to be ignored by our kingdom, that kind of guests. Do you know what I mean now, Babysitter?"
Rondo interrupted the conversation, "Anyway, little bro. You just came to this town. You must be tired. Get some rest tomorrow we'll talk again on the field."
Monyet, "Yeah Babysitter, I bet the other captains will be happy to see you. The babysitting task was the most annoying, before you came, we need to spare our time to do the job on rotation. Since you're here, now it will become your full time task. We will be no longer to do that shit anymore. Wahahahahaha."
Ceking, the skinny captain that also laughed when he first saw the assignment letter kept quiet for some times. Kayu felt little bit weird for this captain.
He looked out of place, be it in term of looks or something else. When Kayu stood in front of him, it felt that the skinny captain could saw all of his disguises and cultivation secret. It was unpleasant feeling. Kayu subconsciously activate his domain on the surface of his body.
