Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 - Probing

Only True Mage and above could summoned the magic domain. Kayu was a half-step true mage level when he was graduated from the Royal Empire Academy. After five years of military training on the HQ, he finally broke through the last barrier and became a real mage.

Not only he achieved the True Mage level, Alash was also managed to condense his own domain at that time. All of these achievements had never been made public, Alash and the higher ups of the army kept this secret to themself.

A green glow that barely noticeable enveloped Kayu's body, once the glow totally enveloped him, the feeling of being under someone scrutiny was gone. Suddenly, Ceking threw up some blood on the floor.

Rondo and Monyet was shocked and ran to assist Ceking. Ceking felt down on the floor and he blanked out. Kayu pretended that he knew nothing and also ran to help the unconscious Ceking.

"Is he alright? What happened to him?" Kayu threw few questions.

"I think he is just tired. He will get better after some rests. We will bring him to his room now." Rondo replied solemnly.

"Okay then. Welcome to this Barrack, Kayu, we'll meet again soon." Monyet smiled to Kayu and he lifted up Ceking body together with Rondo. Both of them walked out from Kayu's room.

Since the Captain's lodging was arranged in the same compound, basically the rooms were located in straight corridor. It did not take too long for the three of them to reached Ceking's room. Rondo put Ceking down on the bed. He took some healing elixir and fed it up to Ceking. Monyet just stood on the door. He vigilantly looked up on the door, afraid that someone suddenly knocked in.

"Ceking, tell us. Why you suddenly coughing up some bloods? We asked you to check up on our new guy right?" Rondo opened the talk once he saw Ceking was getting better after swallowed the healing pill.

"Damn Chief. I did what you told me to. I use my Identify spell on that guy but got nothing other than this backlash." Ceking smiled bitterly.

Monyet chimed in, "How is that possible? You never failed this before. Even your spell was successful on our Commander." shocked shown on his monkey-like face.

Ceking replied, "I don't know. When I used my spell, it was all normal until suddenly a thick element energy wall blocking my probing, it was not only stopping at that. That damn wall bounced back my element energy probes, it back fired on me."

Rondo pondered silently. On the Roadwood's army line up, Rondo was the most experiences soldier in term of cultivation and knowledge, thus other captains called him 'Chief', other than the Commander himself,

Rondo enjoyed the highest prestige on this army. After couple of breath times, Rondo opened his mouth, "There were only two possibilities for this issue. The first one, the newbie is a strong cultivator that reaches at least Primary True Mage level, thus he could cast his own domain or he has a protective magic artifact that perfectly counters the probing type spell."

Ceking smiled wryly, "Chief, if the first possibility is the truth, would it be ridiculous to be truth? Even our commander hasn't achieved the True Mage level yet. How come a newbie 22 years old captain could be stronger than him? I choose to believe the second option. That guy should have a protective magic artifact on him."

Rondo nodded his head and said, "Either the first or second possibilities, both of them only bring out the fact that this guy is not simple and his background most likely extraordinary. We will stop further probing to our new colleagues. Inform the other captains to behave; less later on they will kick out some metal board."

Rondo than turned his body and left Ceking's room. Although he asked the team to drop the issue, he himself was still thinking about it. What was the reason for such extraordinary talent from the HQ to be sent to a border town like this place, was there any hidden agenda?

Probably, Rondo just wasted his time out by thinking about Kayu. The guy himself didn't had any hidden agenda or whatever plan to be followed in this border town. He just wanted to flow like water on the river and enjoyed the ordinary life.

In the morning.

Rumput walked through the captain's compound corridor. Her butt swayed whenever she walked. It was like rhythmic wave on the ocean. It gave hypnotic effect similar to the swaying of pendulum. When she reached the second biggest compound on the corridor, she knocked softly.

"Humph." short answer came from the room.

"It's me Big Sis." Sergeant Rumput spoke softly and reverently to the person inside the room.

"Came in." another short replied from the person inside.

Rumput opened the door slowly. She opened her shoes on the door and came inside the room. The room was bigger than Kayu's 3x3 room. It was at least two times bigger. But the most noticeable different was not the size, it was the interior inside the room.

The room was full of white color and it was clean. It was amazingly clean that it might be possible for someone to face the floor and used the floor as a mirror. A lady was standing in front of the mirror and combed her long blond hair. The hair was straight and from the look of it, it should require enormous effort to make a curly blond hair to become straight by combing it every day.

Rumput looked reverently to the lady in front of the mirror. This lady was the strongest female in the Roadwood Town. Her name was Kupu-kupu and she was the second captain of the Roadwood's army.

Although she was named as 'second captain' everyone on this barrack knew that the first captain Rondo unable to beat this second captain, even for once. Rondo was known as heavy weight womanizer and Kupu-kupu was the most beautiful lady on the army, how could Rondo let her go? Thus from the day one they met on the barrack, they were always clashed with each other. Rondo shamelessly pursued Kupu-kupu but never got his way up till now, since he cannot defeat her on direct combat. Not even once.
