Chereads / Trashed Work [3] / Chapter 7 - A Weakling

Chapter 7 - A Weakling

Zeid was never so gung ho before. It was perhaps he found a worthy opponent of his caliber.

While he stood amid the thicket of trees, the pack of wolves slowly approached him with surly gazes. Aqueshia attempted to side with him but with a cold gaze from Zeid, she knew she had to back away.

Even Celessia felt skeptical about letting a mere mortal deal with these beasts alone. She knew to herself that she can deal with these beasts without a sweat but yet Zeid insists. Instead, they acquiesced to his request and both backed meters away.

In Zeid's peripheral, he could see the names of the monsters above their heads.

Dire Wolf Level 5

Ten of these feral beasts yet Zeid had not given to fear. With the eyes of crimson, he prepared himself for battle. With a low stance and a knife on reverse grip, Zeid readied to lunge himself at any moment.

The Dire Wolves whose name appeared orange bared their fangs at him. They growled and latched predatory gazes on him.

"Altair."

"Master?"

"Allocate half of my current stat points to strength and divide the remaining to agility and dexterity."

"Granted, master!"

With a quick system action, Zeid could see numeral digits move in crescendo. He heaved deep breathes while gleaming a crimson look towards his foes.

"I'm just a weakling."

With a bone-chilling boom, the air parted ways as Zeid propelled himself forward.

In an instant, Zeid appeared mid-air amidst his foes. On his momentum, he slashed in an arc as two wolves fell limp to the ground. He then landed with a grind as his fingers dug down to halt his further motion.

Seeing this unbelievable feat, Aqueshia and Celessia watched as they fall into a stupor. As they gaze upon the boy, Aqueshia couldn't help but get more excited by the second. She watched his master with awe as her hands curled on her cheeks.

The wolves howled in agony as they watch their kin lay lifeless on the ground. The remaining gathered around him and began to attack him with coordination.

Three pounced at him and bit Zeid in his right shoulder, left arm, and right leg. But his expression remained apathetic. He grabbed the one on his shoulder and pulled it towards him with a headbutt. There was a cracking sound before blood spurted from the rupture of its skull.

Another pounced at him. Zeid clenched his fist and threw a punch as air parted ways. A penetrating sound exploded as the wolf propelled meters away and came crashing into a tree.

Zeid held a tight grip on his knife in reverse, and stabbed the wolf gnashing and pulling on the flesh of his left arm. He plunged his knife five times on the neck and the wolf fell off from him.

When Zeid was about to reach on the third one on his leg, another came pouncing towards him with maws wide open. The fangs glinted under the rays of the sun but as he came near him, Zeid grabbed both of his maws, slammed it on the forest floor, and with an effort he twisted the neck. He wasn't satisfied yet and began to break its maws apart. As its lower jaw severed, Zeid threw the body away and stabbed the jaw on the wolf beneath him.

One wolf dashed towards him. Zeid leaped and pointed his finger.

A pebble-sized ball of fire sparked on the tip of his finger and shot towards the wolf who brushed past him. The fire caught on its fur and soon engulfed the unprepared wolf in a gout of flames. The wolf thrashed in pain and soon fell lifeless. Billowing gray smoke escaped from its charred body.

The two remaining wolves saw defeat. Shivered and attempted to escape. But with a quick dash, Zeid caught up and in an oblique slash, they fell headless.

Zeid leaned his head backward and heaved a sigh of relief.

"I felt no pain. I fear what this would mean to me."

Then his attention returned to the approaching women. Aqueshia whose eyes parked with astonishment pounced at Zeid with a hug. Strong liquids expelled from her body and then covered his wounds. Slowly, Zeid felt invigorated.

"A healing skill?"

Aqueshia begins rubbing her cheek at Zeid with elation. She had never been thrilled like this in her life. Her humane disguise quite melted away and revealed her blue transparent skin.

"Come to think of it, didn't a quest appear when I faced Celessia? Everything seems fine now, so why isn't it completed yet?"

In retrospect, Celessia did came benign after making up her mind. But she never said that she gave her trust fully to them. She had remained wary ever since and upon seeing on how Zeid dealt against those wolves, she had become more cautious.

Celessia had never expected a mere mortal who wields a knife move at such speed. Let alone seeing him cast a fire-affinity magic. She had expected Zeid to win the battle with tricks and mischief as he did so against her. But instead, she had seen more.

"No more games. Tell me who you are."

With a snap of a finger, vines sprouted and trapped them in a cage made of rigid vines.

Aqueshia fell into a silent panic as she teetered backward. While his pet fell from fear, Zeid remained unmoved.

"I cannot tell you."

It wasn't like he didn't want to tell her; it was because he couldn't. His existence is already enough to cost him of his life. He was a reincarnated being with the sole purpose of saving a witch. If his identity was to be leaked, it would mean the end for him.

"It's okay, master. You can tell her." Altair spoke to him.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, master."

Zeid adverted his gaze towards Celessia who awaits the truth. She crossed her arms to conceal her beating heart. Even the guardian of the forest feared him.

"I'm a reincarnation."

Those following words had caused Celessia and Aqueshia to widen their eyes. While they fell into bemusement, Zeid stepped forward and held on the bars.

"Do you believe me?"

"You're a hero…" Celessia spoke as she staggered and fell.

Everything made sense. Heroes were valorous souls called back to earth by mages. With unbelievable talents and unprecedented affinity to magic, these heroes were reincarnated to serve one purpose. To save the land from catastrophe.

"Then the great mages of King Ezalor must have summon-"

"I am not reincarnated by those mages. I'm reincarnated by a witch."

Celessia fell into silence.

After a pause, she spoke while dispelling her cage.

"A soul reincarnated by mages are heroes. A soul reincarnated by witches are…"

She fell into silence once again.

"…weaklings." Zeid completed.

Celessia did not reply.

Aqueshia held Zeid's hand, reassuring to him that she will never leave him no matter what.

Celessia stood and turned heels towards the forest. Before disappearing into the shadows, she spoke.

"Be well, dear Zeid. I will await your return with my daisies. I will reward you greatly." She looked back and painted a gentle smile on her face.

Perhaps she did realize that Zeid was good. That even she planted her trust in him. As she disappeared through the shadows of the trees, a panel appeared.

"Aqueshia, go gather some firewood. We'll camp for the night and arrive at the city by noon."

Aqueshia nodded and went off.

"Hey, Altair."

"Yes, master?"

"Was I correct?"

Sensing what he meant, Altair replied.

"No, master."

"Then what was it."

Altair was about to reply when Aqueshia arrived quickly with the firewood Zeid asked for. Soon they started camp and with the meat cut from the wolves cooked over the snapping fire.

Aqueshia began to summon slimes by taking bead-size from her own. Her body regenerated those removed parts to which it became consistent. She explained to him it was for scouting. Zeid asked ten for his own purposes, killed them, and took their souls.

At this time, Zeid had acknowledged the existence of his system storage or simply inventory. All the rewards he claimed were placed inside. The inventory had infinite space and inside he found 10 dire wolves' souls, 10 slimes' souls, his jet-black cardigan, Dire tunic and trousers, and his Anti-Aura ring.

A gleam in his eyes revealed his heightened elation. This was the first game equipment he had received in this world. While he's still acclimating to his surrounding, he slowly got the gist of it.

After a nice meal, Zeid beckoned Aqueshia to come near him. She acquiesced and sat beside him.

"I thank you for saving me back there, dear m-master."

"It's nothing you should thank me for. Like I've said, I'll treat you with care. You might be my pet in this world's terms but you are still my woman."

Aqueshia held his hand and glanced upon the starry sky. The moon reveals itself on the gaps of the foliage. The moonlight gleams over her, revealing her skin of viscousness yet pleasing to the eyes. The fire snaps.

"Say, Master. When your harem reaches a number, please don't forget about me."

"I won't. You're the monster that captured my eyes after all."

Aqueshia leaned towards him for a kiss and he took it. His hand grabbed one of her plush breasts and gently rubbed it. While with the other reached for her love, Zeid locked his lips unto her.

Her moans were muffled by his lips as his finger went inside her. Both of them cast Aphrodisiac and soon began they began to satisfy one another.

"Fuck me hard, master…Ah~"

The night was filled with love.
