The next morning Amelia texted me that she had a doctor's appointment and that she would check into school later, so I sent her a text.
"Good morning Amelia, make sure you let me know what's going on if it's something personal I understand but as your best friend I still would care to know, also I love you too. refraining back to the note."
"Good morning best friend and KK I'll let you know everything" Amelia Replied
After I got dressed I headed to the bus stop and got on the bus. For some reason the bus driver came a little early this morning, but I was just happy I didn't have to stand at the stop alone.
As I made my way to fourth period I realized Amelia still wasn't at school. Taking me out my thoughts the bell had rung and it was the fifth bell for the day meaning it was time for lunch. I still didn't see Amelia, so I grabbed my lunch and went to the outside picnic tables. After I chatted with a couple of people I ate some of my lunch and decided to send her a text to make sure that she was fine.
"Hey Amelia, Is everything okay? You didn't come to school today?" I asked.
"Hey I'm still at the doctors I'll see you after school our spot, I love you John''
"Sure. See you later'', and I love you too Amelia."
Sure I knew something seemed weird with Amelia but I brushed it off, and ate the rest of my lunch. I decided to head to class a little early. By this time we only had one more class to go and that was seventh block.
We usually get out of six block at 2 P.m. and seventh block was a fun class for us so it consisted of acting, drama, art, singing, and dancing. Which only lasted about 45 minutes a day. At 2:45 P.m. the last bell rang and it was officially time to go. I grabbed my things and waited for the bus.
When I arrived home my mom was cooking dinner, but she had to pull a double tonight of course by this time I was old enough to stay home by myself and I knew it was going to be a long night. I just wasn't really looking forward to it.
I changed out of my school clothes, grabbed my homework and headed towards the motorhome waiting for Amelia, I did my homework and drifted to sleep until I heard a loud push. Amelia walked in with food from my mom's house and a pack of our favorite sour strings.
"Hey, sorry I took so long, I just left the doctors. It was so crowded today" Amelia said.
I knew her like the back of my hand I knew she was lying but once again I brushed it off.
We spent the whole night reliving old times. Amelia told me she always wanted to egg our principal house because he suspended her our freshman year for being late three days in a row.
And at first I was like you are nuts, but she eventually talked me into it and of course I went alone with it.
Amelia borrowed her mom's car, and we went to the grocery store and got two cases of twelve packs of eggs and headed to Principal Theodore run down two story home.
We parked two houses down from where Principal Theodore lived, so he wouldn't recognize the car or us. We decided to use a couple eggs on his house, not the whole two cases. After we egged his house we noticed him coming outside, so we took out running and got inside the car.
We were far from done. We had mean Sarah, crazy Glenn, and the bully Sean Salvador.
After we were done with everyone, we returned to the motor home where we spent the rest of our night reacting to the people's reactions. And even though there weren't any old times without each other hell we still had a good deal of fun once we were together.
Amelia had us a schedule with a lot of things to do for at least four weeks and it was our plan to accomplish them.
Though it was strange to have them written down like it was some sort of bucket list it still made me wonder what Amelia Collette had up her sleeve.
She was always a mystery. That's what I loved about her. She didn't care about what others thought.
She would tell everyone aloud even her parents that she loved John Newman, she damn near told the whole world that I was her saving grace and I lived just to hear it every time.
For the most part our days, our years, our nights ended well and not many people can say that they have someone in their corner. Or that they had parents that cared about their mental health growing up and no matter what I knew I had Amelia Delilah Collette, and she knew she had John Fitzgerald Newman and that's all that mattered to us.
"See you tomorrow, Best's friend," Amelia said.
"I'll see you tomorrow rain bush"
She hated when I called her rain bush but it was always one of those things that made her smile.
"Hey Amelia" I yelled
"Yes John"
As I mouthed those three big words to her, I could see her cheeks light up just hearing those words, I could tell she loved when I told her that I loved her and before she went inside her house she yelled back
"I love you too, forever and always."
It was around 11 p.m. when I got inside the house for the night I ate a baked Pastrami sandwich that my mom somehow enjoyed cooking. I showered and drifted off to sleep.
