The tiger beastman called Redbone looked at Erik with a joyful sneer.
Hoisting his shield on his arm properly, he gave a glance to the dwarf who promptly moved.
Hanging his hammer by the waist, the young looking dwarf took a while to activate a skill that caused steam to emit out of his hands.
Putting it against the shield, the ice started melting slowly.
Redbone used this chance to look at Rastel and Vars. He only gave Rastel a quick cursory glance before turning to Vars.
"Young master Vulcan, we are terribly sorry you got caught up in these trivialities. These hooligans have deeply offended you and we would be sure to make them pay for it."
He spoke with a very respectful tone.
He had recognized Vars right away!
Hearing his words, Erik's face suddenly became a bit pale and he stammered.
"M-master Vulcan?"
Redbone turned to him with a victorious sneer.
"You foolishly went and offended grandmaster Vulcan's son. Do you see just how stupid you can be in your arrogance, Erik?"
Erik was in a state of shock, confusion and fear were painted all over his face as he stared at Rastel's cloaked figure and Vars's scowling face.
Bareblade and the two mages Jane and Jill had already recovered from taking exploding arrows head on.
Downing small health potions and casting healing spells, they moved to Erik's side also feeling disturbed by the play of events.
The young dwarf had finished melting off the layer of frost and turned to look at Vars. There was an almost maniacal reverence in his eyes as he shouted out.
"Young master Vulcan! These fools have deeply offended your lordship and insulted your grace deeply. As just a humble blacksmith, I can't take it! Let me seek vengeance for you!"
The frown on Vars's face deepened. Before he could open his mouth to reply, the dwarf had suddenly dashed towards Erik and his group without hesitation!
Lifting his hammer high, it glowed a bright red radiating a scorching heat.
A really fast arrow from Little eye tore through the air as it approached the dwarf who was charging up his skill but.
PENG!
An invisible shield appeared just in time to block it off.
'Mana shield. A cleric?'
Rastel turned to look at the young boy who still had a foolish grin on his face, he seemed very satisfied with what he had just done.
'Well, his timing was amazing.'
Rastel nodded quietly.
A burst of flames followed by a gust of wind came after that and managed to smash the mana shield apart but the dwarf had already arrived in front of them.
"Take your retribution for offending the young master!"
The dwarf yelled righteously as he swung the hammer at Erik's still hesitating face.
Redbone and the rest watched passively without lifting a single finger.
Rastel watched all this with deep amusement.
'So Vars is really a young master? This is so dramatic it's almost cringy!'
He was very happy that these people would come and take the load off their hands. He was very unwilling to fight right now.
Rastel had realized during the fight that he had really overestimated himself.
Even though he had a unique class, he was still so weak! He honestly doubted if he would have eventually won even with his two golems.
His golems were slow and clumsy, except for Amba.
Once they were exposed, he was sure that anybody with decent combat experience would be able to easily deal with them.
He was previously planning to use them for a surprise attack to take down the troublesome Erik first and then the ranger, Little eye so they could run away easily.
With his flying elemental and AOE attacks, he felt that running away wouldn't be feasible with Erik around. And as a ranger, Little eye definitely had a decent amount of tracking skills.
The warrior can be forced off and mages are relatively slow so it might have worked out.
'But this way is better, let them fight each other while we waltz away. We have wasted enough time already.'
He noticed that the sun was already getting dangerously low.
While Rastel was indulging in his thoughts, the dwarf's hammer had already arrived near Erik.
"Counter!"
Clang!
Bareblade appeared in front of Erik and used a parrying skill which sent the dwarf flying back.
"Bareblade! Do you dare to go against grandmaster Vulcan, nobody will be able to save you if you continue like this!"
Redbone sneered.
"Shut the hell up Redbone! You are just here to kill steal so stop talking like a righteous prick!"
Bareblade yelled back in anger.
"Hah! This isn't about me but the young master!"
Rastel caught Vars's scowl deepening further at Red bone's words.
"Feeling all invincible just because you guys got lucky with a rare class. Do you think you rule the world now huh? With your meager strength, you think you can establish a guild like this? Offending everyone you see?"
Redbone was in his element as he continuously spat out.
Erik frowned.
"It wasn't fully our fault, only an idiot wouldn't be wary against you Redbone."
"Anybody who has been a day around Eadon knows you are a cunning fox! And you are just here for revenge because we got the kill of that gowery before you last time. Have you forgotten the unwritten rule, acts of vengeance should not take out unless they are life and death grudges!"
Erik looked at Redbone with a glowering gaze.
"Bah! Who cares about a stupid monkey. I let you guys have that gowery because we didn't really need it that time!"
Redbone waved it off.
"That was because you and your team were heavily injured!"
Bareblade growled, looking like he was about launch an attack.
"Wait, Bareblade!"
Erik stopped him.
The matter was getting out of hand, he didn't expect that the people he attacked just happened to include an important NPC.
If things really got out of hand, best case scenario he would have to leave the kingdom and migrate. The worst case would obviously see him and his team dead, all his hard work and epic class going to waste.
Rastel watched as Erik stiffly turned in their direction, his expression flashed with a bit of discontent before finally showing resolve.
Now that they were no longer involved in the drama, Rastel found the whole thing hilarious for some reason and was giggling silently to himself.
Taking a deep bow, Erik started apologizing.
"Master Vulcan, me and my teammates deeply apologize for our transgressions towards you."
As he said this, he glanced at his teammates who quickly took the hint and bowed also.
"We have sinned greatly but we are just poor adventurers trying to get by. We can offer you this cariyl and even our services for as long as you will be content."
Erik was basically speaking through gritted teeth at this point. He was basically giving himself up into slavery!
The truth really was that he had nothing valuable to offer to the son of a dwarven grandmaster. And if he tried to run away, it would be hopeless.
Not even the organization that gave him the rare class would be able to shield him from a grandmaster.
This was the only way he could think of to try and appease this important figure.
Vars's expression looked incredibly ugly but Rastel on the other hand was having a field day in his mind.
'Bwahahahaha! What!? This is really some hilarious comedy drama or something. He actually said, "We have sinned greatly….." Bwahahahaha!! I can't help it!'
His shoulders were slightly trembling from holding in his laughter.
Seeing as Vars was silent and the cloaked figure was trembling with what he could only guess to be rage, Erik hastily started speaking again.
"Young master as you have seen, we are really strong summoned. No matter the mission you can easily count on us to accomplish it. Let us use our services to atone for our sins."
"Pfft!"
Rastel barely stifled that one.
Redbone was looking at this scene contently by the side.
Watching his long time rival humiliating himself like this, there was no way he wouldn't feel satisfaction of any kind.
'Serves the bastard right! Kill stealing from his grandfather, this will show him. I actually needed the liver of that gowery for Yellow Lily's alchemical potion.'
Turning to look at the elf named Yellow Lily, he saw the look of satisfaction on her face as she saw Erik apologizing.
The whole reason why he was still looking for trouble with Erik was because of this woman.
That time, he had spent considerable effort to hunt the gorilla-like beast called a gowery so that they could get its liver for an alchemy recipe Yellow lily was studying.
She was an alchemy apprentice and needed a lot of materials to practice so she could pass the test and become a certified alchemist.
When that time came, they could relax and rake in money from selling her products and all their expeditions would be much easier because of the presence of an alchemist's pills and potions.
But in the end, the gowery was stolen from right under them by Erik and his team and they were heavily injured so they could only retreat.
Another reason was that he was trying to curry favor with her and get her attention. She was already beautiful but coupled with her high elf race, she became really stunning.
It was natural for any man to want to please such a woman.
'I didn't expect such a thing to happen, we only wanted to teach them a lesson and rob them a little bit but this is much better! Once he starts slaving away, he would have less time to improve himself and can only do small useless quests!'
Redbone was laughing silently to himself when a thought suddenly struck him.
'Wait the person he would be serving would be a grandmaster's son. Isn't that…. Actually something really good!'
Thinking of the possibility that this could lead to a possible good windfall for Erik and he might encounter something good, Redbone couldn't help cursing.
'Shit! I have to stop this. I should say something!'
He turned to look at Vars and the other cloaked figure to incite more discord and stop Erik from succeeding.
But just as he was about to open his mouth, Vars's cold voice rang out.
"You all can get out of my sight. I don't need any bastard serving me!"
Vars looked at them with glowering amber eyes.
