PRIEEEK!
As the bird like creature charged towards them accompanied by a terrifying frosty air, Rastel and Vars revealed extremely aggravated expressions.
'Fucking dumb people!'
Rastel cursed viciously as he quickly dropped Myra to cast his best defensive spell.
A layer of earth rose from the ground to create a barrier between them and the creature.
The creature was extremely fast and before he could think of another countermeasure, the creature pierced through the wall like it never existed and its direction was aiming straight at the still confused Myra!
BANG!
Vars swung his metal bow without hesitation and smacked the creature away. A layer of frost covered that part of the bow reaching towards his hands.
"Are you people just extremely stupid! How did you come to such a dumb conclusion, you people ran into us!"
Vars yelled angrily, his bad temper was fully unleashed.
At this time, the ice creature had already recovered from the hit and was flapping angrily in the air.
Scowling at them, the blonde haired elementalist spat back.
"You guys obviously knew we were coming this way as they informed you!"
A layer of red light appeared on Vars's hands quickly melting the layer of frost as he yelled back.
"The entire forest doesn't belong to you, fool! Other people can come in here!"
Without any hesitation, Vars drew his bowstring and fired an explosive arrow towards the elementalist with blurring speed!
BOOM!
Just as the arrow reached near his target, a large gust of wind blew it back causing it to explode in the air.
The wind mage had protected him from the arrow.
The other fire mage waved her hands as three large fireballs rushed towards them.
Rastel at this point was cursing incessantly in his mind as he thought up solutions.
He really hated unreasonable people!
BOOM! BOOM!! BOOM!!!
He still didn't hesitate.
A fire ball took care of one of the attacks, the last two were dealt with by Vars.
"Myra, run into the forest a bit and stay hidden!"
Myra didn't hesitate like the last time with Waeser and quickly ran away.
She fully trusted that the hero would take care of the situation and find her safely afterward.
Seeing the tiny hooded figure running into the woods, the elementalist shouted.
"Little eye! Get that person running away!"
The crossbow archer who was in the trees darted through the foliage with speed as he aimed for Myra.
But he hadn't gone far when an arrow was shot at him.
BOOM!!
Vars looked absolutely enraged as he shot another arrow before the smoke even settled.
BOOM! BOOM!!
Seeing Vars handle the situation, Rastel turned his gaze towards the rest of their enemies.
He was never really worried about Myra as she had Amba with her. As he was linked with Amba, he was very clear that Amba's strength had been growing for quite a while now.
All this while, the golem had been slowly chipping off at his mana and was steadily improving himself.
Rastel was sure without a doubt that anyone going after Myra would just be heading towards their own death.
But at this moment.
'How the fuck am I supposed to deal with this?'
Looking at the situation objectively, there was no way he could see any chance of victory and he was sweating internally.
Even with his golems, there was no way he could deal with these many enemies, they were too fast and too skilled.
The person with the lowest level amongst them was level 19 and it was the elementalist himself.
Rastel had already experienced how powerful this rare class was, all his low tier spells were definitely useless before it. Not to consider the fact that he had just seen the rest of the team in action and they all looked formidable.
The team was currently in a daze watching Vars's violent attacks and had momentarily paused.
Vars was throwing explosive arrow after explosive arrow at the archer called Little eye without giving him a moment's rest.
"How is he spamming explosive arrows like water? What kind of NPC is he?"
The swordsman looked bewildered as he saw his teammate's ragged state.
Even with all his agility as a ranger, Little eye was barely hanging on as the arrows kept his nerves stretched and his toes nimble.
Gritting his teeth, the elementalist commanded.
"Bareblade, go help him out. Jane and Jill, you take care of the mage."
Swishing his blade, the swordsman called Bareblade ran to intercept Vars.
"I'm on it, Erik!"
"Sure Erik!"
The two mages answered in concert as they also moved towards Rastel while chanting spells.
Seeing them move, Rastel called out to Vars quickly.
"Step back a bit."
Vars quickly obliged even though he was still fuming.
Little eye was able to get a chance to retreat to safety and recover.
The swordsman reached first, swinging his sword in a horizontal movement ferociously.
Launching an earth pillar to Bareblade's side, Rastel took a quick step backward to dodge the blade.
Spinning with the movement of his strike, Bareblade deftly deflected the earth pillar and swung his blade again from below.
This time, Rastel went low and his feet lashed out, he caught Bareblade unawares as he toppled to the ground after getting his foot swept out.
THUD!
Rastel didn't hesitate and lunged for the kill. But just as he got near the downed bareblade, he immediately jumped to the left, a rippling water shield appearing in front of him.
BOOM!
He had been keeping one eye on the mages and as soon as they saw it wasn't going well for them, the one called Jane had launched a fireball at him.
The water shield took the brunt of the part of the explosion he couldn't dodge and as soon as he regained his balance, he rushed for Bareblade again!
Bareblade was just getting up when he saw a blur in front of his eyes and a hand wrapped around his neck.
Before he knew what was happening, a sharp pain came to his right shoulder as it was dislocated making him drop his sword.
"ARGH!!!"
BLTZZ! CRACKLE!
He yelled loudly from the pain before the crackle of electricity abruptly rang out which was followed by a sharp jab at his jaw.
"UNGH!"
He was dazed. What was this bastard doing?
Rastel on the other hand was frustrated as he had his eyes wide open.
'Again!?'
He remembered when he wanted to knock out the red mage back in Laron and he could only succeed after multiple punches.
Now that he had improved his strength a bit more, he thought it would work out just fine but the same thing was happening again.
'Fucking useless class!'
Rastel cursed as he suddenly jumped back quickly enough to dodge the wind blade that tore through his previous position.
The mages now approached and they were seemingly casting a complementary spell to fire off.
Using each other's spells to improve the power of their own. The concept of complementary casting was something that all mage players pursued but only a few grasped.
There were even some top tier mages who could achieve complementary casting by themselves, casting two spells at the same time whose effects could sync with the other.
The two mages were almost done casting when they noticed a sight behind the hooded mage. Vars was pointing a nocked arrow at them with a glare.
BOOM!
The arrow flew out quickly and exploded right in their faces.
"Shit!"
Bareblade cursed out as he stood up and reached out to pick up his sword but.....
'Huh? Where's my sword?'
BOOM!
In his daze, he didn't see the arrow that came for him too.
'We are actually doing not bad!'
Rastel cheered in his mind.
PRIEEK!
The piercing sound came before the chilling cold. The area surrounding Rastel and Vars suddenly started freezing over.
The grass froze stiff, the trees were covered in layers of ice and the air was incredibly chilly. This was a very powerful crowd control area of effect magic!
Swooping low, the bird like creature cried out as it charged at Rastel which made him nervous.
He had seen how the creature basically ignored his earth wall which was one of his highly leveled skills. It had cut through it like butter!
PEW! PEW!
Two arrows from Vars whistled by but missed as the creature nimbly dodged them in the air.
Rastel had brought out something from his inventory already. Holding the figures of two golems, he took a defensive stance as various plans to run away flashed through his head.
He could feel his blood freezing and his feet slipping and he knew he had to get out of the AOE's range to fight effectively.
The bird wouldn't give him enough time though as it suddenly increased its speed.
'If this is what an elemental is like then I am really beginning to hate those things.'
He cursed in his mind as he was ready to throw the figures out.
But just as the elemental reached them, a whooshing sound flew through the air and a large thing knocked the elemental aside with a resounding echo.
CLANG!!!
The elementalist, Erik who had been controlling his elemental all this while had a grave look on his face when he saw the shield that just knocked it out of the air.
"Red bone!"
He growled through clenched teeth.
The large figure of a tiger beastman with bright orange fur and black stripes walked out holding a short axe in one hand.
Three figures were walking behind him slowly.
A female high elf with blonde hair and a smiling face, a male dwarf who was fondling a hammer playfully, and a young human boy who was looking around excitedly with a foolish grin on his face.
Rastel was inwardly relieved as this must be the team that was here to kill steal the cariyl.
He turned to look at the shield that knocked the elemental back, it was a large metal thing with a simple design of an upside-down hammer on its center.
Half of it was covered in frost as it lay there quietly on the floor.
Suddenly, Rastel went on alert as he felt, more than saw the presence that appeared beside him.
Before he could react, the person had dashed straight past in front of him and disappeared.
The shield was gone!
A black clothed figure suddenly appeared beside the large tiger man and handed him the half frozen shield.
The figure had a slender body and the short ponytail together with the tight fitting clothes hugging closely revealed it to be a woman.
Her lower face was covered by a mask and only her deep dark eyes could be seen. She would have looked quite intimidating if she wasn't so short.
'A ninja loli?'
Rastel thought in part amusement and part awe.
Her speed was incredible and her skills were good, he couldn't tell how she had managed to sneak up on both him and Vars.
Holding a sneer on his face, the tiger beastman collected his shield from the assassin as he answered the elementalist.
"Hoh! Hoh! Erik! It is time for retribution now!"
