Chapter 46 - Chapter 30.1: I have been waiting for this....

Finally came the wedding day! The altar was decorated with vibrant pink and white orchid flowers. The wedding of Sarah and Aiden; and; Olivia and Samar were taking place on the same day in the University Church of St Mary the Virgin; the most beautiful church in the city. The excellent combination of stone, wood, and stained-glass windows made Mavis and Pauline organize the wedding in that location. The main body of the church was substantially rebuilt in the Perpendicular style, but the oldest part of the present church is the tower, which dates from around 1270. The Decorated spire with its triple-gabled outer pinnacles, inner pinnacles, gargoyles, and statues was added in the 1320s.

The wedding date was delayed because when Samar proposed to Olivia, their families told them that they first need to come back to India so that all of them could celebrate the special day in the best traditional way. After they got married in India, they returned back to Oxford to get married in the romantic Catholic custom as Sarah suggested a double wedding.

Mavis and Pauline were in charge of welcoming the guests. They even invited Yukt and Sakshi, who actually ended up being together. As they entered the church premises, Pauline asked with her eyes widened, "Wait a minute... you two are together now?" Sakshi answered with a genuine smile, "Yeah, we are!" Mavis raised her eyebrow and inquired with confusion, "Okay... but why? What do you see in him?" Sakshi replied with a mischievous grin, "Can't you see it? Because he is so freaking HOT! Sometimes I feel like tearing off his clothes and take him right over here at the entrance!" Yukt gave her a weird look and replied, "If you do that, I will scream." They giggled and then went ahead to find a seat.

A few moments later, PB and IB entered the church and said together, "We're PB and IB! Thanks for inviting us!" Mavis asked sarcastically, "So, still deeply in love?" They both replied, "Oh! There's no love like ours." Pauline muttered, "Can't argue with that!" After a couple of minutes of chit-chatting, PB and IB took their seats in front of the altar.

A few hours passed by, and all the guests arrived on time. The wedding was about to commence within half an hour. A car halted in front of the church entrance and an unexpected guest from the past came out of the vehicle. IT WAS NONE OTHER THAN DR. DK!! Unfortunately, due to his critical condition over the years, he was in a wheelchair. Mavis and Pauline were astounded to see him at the church. As he appeared, he sized the two girls and said with a genuine smile on his face, "Ms. Granzreich; Ms. D'Cruz! We meet again."

Pauline asked inquisitively, "How did you know about the wedding? Do you even know whose wedding is this?'" Dr. DK grinned and replied, "Aiden is a model, and as you know, he posts every single thing going on in his life. You guys were my favorite group in high school. I even knew Olivia and Samar before I met you guys. They were my ex-students after they moved to PEI. And fate made me go after them. I then realized that life wanted me to teach them more than what I already did. I always thought that the four of you would stay together, but life had other plans." Mavis asked, "You remember what happened?" Dr. DK responded, "I remember everything."

Mavis asked again after noticing the wheelchair, "Gotten too old, Dr. DK?" Tears filled up his eyes as he replied, "That's one of the main reasons I'm here. I'm dying, girls. I have only a few days left to live. I know that I should be in the hospital, but I couldn't just stay there, especially when I knew that my two gals are getting married to their true love. How come I not come on their special day?" Mavis and Pauline exchanged glances and figured out how to make this wedding memorable for everyone. Pauline politely asked, "Well... Dr. DK, since you have very little time left, I would suggest that you give away the girls at the aisle. Their parents couldn't make it today due to some personal issues so they would be more than happy to have you give them away." Dr. DK's eyes shined as the sunlight gleamed onto his tears, flowing down his wrinkled cheeks.

Sarah and Olivia were informed about Dr. DK's medical condition, and for obvious reasons, they were dismayed and disheartened at the news. After half an hour, the music commenced, and the two girls appeared, grabbed each of Dr. DK's arms and walked down the aisle with tears in their eyes. Even Aiden and Samar were surprised at his sudden arrival. As they reached the altar, Dr. DK called the two boys forward and said, "TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEM! OR ELSE, I WILL BREAK YOUR BONES!" All the guests gave out a small giggle, and the wedding proceeded.

The priest began the rituals and asked Samar, "Samar Anand, do you take Olivia as your lawful wedded wife and to love and to cherish for the rest of your life?" Samar replied with a genuine smile on his face, "I do." The priest continued, "Olivia Madhavan, do you take Samar as your lawful wedded husband and to love and to cherish for the rest of your life?" Olivia took a deep breath and responded with confidence, "I do."

The priest then looked over at Sarah and Aiden and asked Aiden, " Do you Aiden Zhou, take Sarah as your lawful wedded wife and to love won't part till death?" A wide smile spread across his face. He waited for this day for so long. Without hesitating, he answered, "I do." In the audience, PB and IB were discussing, "OMG! This reminds me of our wedding. The flowers, the decoration, family, friends, and that kiss was too good and filled with passion!" Mavis and Pauline made a nauseated face as they heard them from the altar. The priest continued, "Sarah Sanchez, do you take Aiden as your lawful wedded husband to love and to cherish for the rest of your life?" Sarah was overwhelmed by what was happening around her. She always dreamed about her wedding day. But after the high school disaster, she stopped and believed that this day would never come. But the power of love proved her wrong and showed her how love and friendship are essential and can brighten one's life. Sarah smiled and answered, "I--"

Before she could say the words, a voice screamed from a peculiar corner of the church, "STOP THE WEDDING!" Everyone was shocked to see who shrieked out those words, especially the six people standing at the altar. It was the last person they wanted to see...
