The person came down the stairs and glared at everyone present at the altar. IT WAS VINCENT! Vincent pointed the gun at Sarah as the audience gasped and yelled, "You humiliated me at our engagement, I am going to end you before your dream comes true!" Everyone fell silent. No one had anything to say. How could they? Other than Vincent, no one was armed. Sarah couldn't help but glare at him. As the atmosphere turned serious, Vincent cracked into a smile said while dancing like crazy, "I'M JOKING!"
Olivia yelled, "Seriously!? I don't care if you kill me! But I will surely end you for giving me the second heart attack!" Before she could run to beat up Vincent, Samar carried her and insisted her to calm down. Mavis raised an eyebrow and asked, "What do you want?" Vincent replied, "Relax everyone! This gun is fake! I have come to attend the wedding." Aiden asked with fury in his eyes, "Why?! Something else you want to ruin!?" Vincent replied, "No! You fancypants! I've come to make peace with Sarah."
Sarah said with her arms crossed, "Go ahead! I'm listening." Vincent responded, "I loved you in high school, and that wasn't a lie! Whatever I said to you, I meant it! Though the circumstances may not suggest so. The truth is, I loved you and Lombriz at the same time. We broke up because she dropped out of high school for me! And the only job she could get was a pole dancer at a strip club. So that's why I came back to you. But after we got engaged, Lombriz came back to turn over a new leaf. She completed her school and college and secured a job at the TD bank. I didn't get back together with her; we were just friends. I didn't even know that she was pregnant. But when I found out that I was the father, I couldn't just leave her like that! She needed somebody. So I chose her, and I'm happily married now. I didn't mean to hurt or break any one of you! I'm sorry that I couldn't explain things to you before as I wasn't sure myself what was going on."
Sarah replied, "I accept your apology. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Next time?" Vincent took his seat with the guests and answered, "Yeah... maybe next time." Sarah turned back to the priest, and finally, those words came out, "I do." The priest smiled and replied, "By the power invested in me, boys, you may now kiss your brides." Aiden and Samar glanced at their elegantly and exquisitely dressed brides with tears in their eyes. They were string right into Sarah and Olivia's eyes with genuine merriment. After a long silence, Mavis yelled, "Guys! Not to break the sentiment, but do the needful!" Aiden kissed Sarah, and Samar caressed Olivia as the audience howled and whistled.
Dr. DK appeared from the audience and called out the two brides forward. Olivia's eyes were still filled with tears, and so were Sarah's. Olivia stammered, "W-what w-would I-I d-do w-w-without you? Y-you still have a lot to teach me. Y-you can't just go like that--", she trailed off as she burst into tears mid-sentence. Dr. DK placed his hand on her shoulder and pulled her into an embrace. He said, "I ain't going anywhere my children, and I love you all! And my good wishes will always be with you. I know that all of you have grown up beautifully and are ready to face all the challenges that life throws at you. And that's one thing that I've taught you all for sure."
The two newly married couples came together and gave Dr. DK one last hug before he left for the hospital. All of them cried as they saw him heading towards the exit for the last time. He turned back and yelled, "I'm going to slap all you damn fools if you don't enjoy this day! Carry on with your lives you maroons! I will be watching each one of you at all times!" The four of them cracked into a smile and went on to attend all the guests invited for the ceremony.
Mavis and Pauline were seated together after the ceremony and were laughing and talking before the cutting of the wedding cake. Sarah and Olivia came joined them and gave them a mischievous grin. Sarah said, "Well, well, well! Guys, it's the wedding season! Why don't you two finally get married?" Olivia continued, "Yeah! You guys have been together like forever! When are you going to tie the knot?" All that could come out of Mavis and Pauline was, "Umm...?" Suddenly two men appeared from the background and shrieked as they heard the conversation, "YOU ARE LESBIANS NOW!?" Olivia raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who are you two? And why do you care?" Sarah asked as she recognized one of the faces, "Arthur? Are you the same Arthur from the Queen Charlotte track and field team?" Arthur replied, "The one and only! Mavis? What the hell is going on?"
Olivia recognized the other guy, and she asked with her eyes widened, "Wait a minute... are you, Chris? Aiden's male best friend?" Chris said vehemently, "Yeah! And since when are you homosexual, Pauline?" Aiden and Samar turned around while they were chatting with the guests and joined the conversation immediately after they heard what Chris said. As they arrived, Pauline replied, "Okay honey, this is a huge misunderstanding! You know that I'm not a lesbian!" Aiden's eyes widened, and he asked in a tone where he had no idea what was going on, "HONEY? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?"
Mavis and Pauline exchanged glances and finally decided to tell the truth. Pauline responded, "Okay guys, let's all calm down. First of all, none of us are homosexual. Second of all, I'm already married. Samar asked, "Married? To whom?" Chris yelled, "TO ME! You idiots!" Aiden asked Chris angrily, "You were married to Pauline, and you didn't tell me?!" Chris replied calmly, "Okay! Since all of us were really busy in bringing everything back together, the topic never really came up!" Arthur added, "I had absolutely no idea what was going on for the past few months! I just came back from a business meeting two days ago! I was gone for like 6 months!"
Olivia questioned, "So that must make you--" Arthur interrupted, "Yes, I'm Mavis's husband." Sarah yelled, "Whoa! When did you two meet?" Mavis replied, "During high school, when everything was falling apart." Olivia intervened, "Guys! Does that really matter now?" Vincent appeared out of nowhere and added, "She's right! Look at all of us! We all were different people in high school, and even though things fell apart, it did teach us a lot of lessons that all of us had something to learn from. That's an enormous contribution that has formed us into who we are today." Sarah replied, "I never thought that I would say this but Vincent's right."
After all the wedding celebrations, the royal carriages arrived at the entrance of the church that were going straight to the airport. The two married couples stepped into the carriage, and all the families and friends howled and whistled as they saw both the carriages take off. Mavis said, "Pauline, I feel terrific. I feel like we did the impossible!" Pauline replied, "Well... it's always impossible until it's done. Everyone deserves true love. Since Olivia walked into our lives, it changed all of us. People change people. They influence us in a certain way. She taught all of us how to be real friends. Sarah always believed that everything would turn out okay, and she always kept us together. We taught them the meaning of true love. We all influenced each other. That's the secret of life."
