Chapter 10 - Chaos

Winding up the spiral staircase, Lucas had Princess Dilla leading the way with Silvia close behind him. Other than their footsteps, It was dead silent. A putrid smell hung in the air, making their eyes water and sting.

Reaching the top of the stairway, all three were amazed and terrified. A large circular room was surrounded them filled with thousands of eggs the size of a basketball with a bit of green glow in them.

Spider webs covered then entire rooms walls. Spinning around, Lucas looked at every corner of the room and found a ray oh hope. Although it was hard to see covered in thick layers of webs, Behind all the webs was a large spiral stairs case. Following them with his eyes up the wall. Far above as a small circle was a ray of light that brought Lucas immense joy.

"Look, Silvia, The surface! Ellie, I'm coming!" His eyes teared up a little thinking of Ellie being all alone.

Silvia's eyes widened with amazement but also noticed thousands of tunnels leading into this room from all sides, spread all up this shaft.

Lucas also caught sight of the tunnels.

As the two were taking in the surroundings, crunching sounds soon got their attention. Looking at the cause, Lucas got a headache. Dilla was kicking the eggs, making green liquid splatter across the floor, releasing an even stronger stench.

Covering his nose, Lucas quickly ran over to Dilla and grabbed her wrist before she can smash another "What the hell are you doing? Can you not see what those are?!?"

"Hmph, So what? What are they? Why should I care?!"

"If my guess is correct, those.. should be Stalker eggs.."

Dilla's face instantly turned pale and take for the stairs below. Lucas didn't pay attention to Dilla this time as a hostage didn't serve many purposes now.

"chichichichichichichi" Rattles and clicking sounds came from every direction. Soon, the movement could be seen from thousands of tunnels above, taking a closer look; thousands of spiders were racing down the wall in their direction.

Just as Lucas was about to pull the terrified Silvia down the stairs with him, a scream so loud it felt like another earthquake shook the world. Looking up, all color drained from Lucas as a giant spider the size of a two-story was racing down from the very top at incredible speed.

Not wasting any more time, Lucas grabbed Silvia. Lifted her to his chest and ran down the stairs with everything he had.

~Earlier that day

"Ok, So here's my plan," Lucas said with a serious face as all the prisoners started to huddle around him.

"First I'm going to sneak through town ahead of everyone else, I'll release the blacksmith on the way. While working on my part of the plan, I'd like for everyone here, secretly kill as many guards as you can, as fast as you can. Gather up all the weapons and head to the prison to get my equipment for me. It's crucial." Lucas looks at these closest prisoners dead in the eyes to express how important they are to him.

"After letting the old blacksmith know everything, He'll head on over to your location... Once that's done, I'll be going up the castle to get something personal. While I'm there... I'll make a distraction. If all works well, the town shouldn't have any guards left. Once the guards are all busy, I'd like everyone here to sneak up the castle to the top floor."

All the prisoners nod to express their understanding of the plan.

~present time

After rushing down the stairs, Lucas doesn't see Dilla anywhere at present.

Hearing the clicking sound of spider feet hitting the ground, coming closer, Lucas ran over to the northern balcony, told Silvia to grab onto his neck, directly jumping over the railing.

A moment of silence took over just after Lucas jumped over the left, followed by a storm of thousands of spiders spilling out from the top of the castle, climbing down the walls, down into the castle corridors, and even along with the ceiling of the entire cave.

The down went into complete chaos, with citizens screaming.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

Like the steps of an angry giant, the cake shook repeatedly.

While all this was happening, our Protagonist, Lucas. Quickly had all the scales come out across his body, starting from the gem in his chest like a ripple across the rest of his body. Currently is completely covered his torso, and only now did he realize he could use his previously broken arm, which seemed as good as new.

Stabbing his hands into the wall like a knife, Lucas used his hands to slow his fall all the way down to the Prison, where he spotted several figures waiting for him.

Spotting several balcony's, Lucas lept from one to the next till he finally reached the ground.

The prisoners also spotted Lucas on his way down and promptly gathered near him.

"Are you fucking mad!?!? This was your 'distraction'!?!?!" Prisoner A shouted in a panic, watching the spider wave all rush across the cavern.

"You're going to get us all killed! How did we trust this lunatic!?!" Prisoner B said with terror on his face.

"Everyone!! Get a hold of yourselves!!" Rex looked at Lucas. "Is everything under control?!"

"As much as much control as it's going to have. Everyone, if you don't want to be left behind, keep up, and follow me! Quick!!" Lucas yelled across the crowd.

Seeing Rex holding all his positions, Lucas equipped them as fast as possible and led everyone back into the castle.

Guards were rushing too and fro without much control of the situation, and they certainly didn't have time to care about Lucas and his crew. Making his way through the castles first floor. Lucas got a pang of greed, wondering if there was anything good in this castles treasure vault.

Leading his cohort to the throne room, they could already hear the yells of the King from down the hall. Just as Lucas came into the king's view, he burst into rage. "It was you!! You filthy animal!!! I should have killed you when I first saw you!!"

The King's raw rage caused his body to ripple with a desire to kill but couldn't do anything about it. With only ten guards against an around of about 100 armed individuals; They were outmatched.

"I'll have you dead! I want you dead, I swear!!" The King screamed at Lucas. Lucas didn't even pay him any mind as he scanned the room a once over before spotting a door almost out of his vision. It was hidden behind the throne. Most likely so, it was indirect access to the King, and someone could quickly retrieve whatever he needed.

Lucas leads the other Prisoners who were confused about the situation near the throne. The King first thought he came for him, but as he saw Lucas taking all the prisons around his throne, his rage peaked even more.

"How dare you?!? First, you invite enemies into my Kingdom, and now you take my treasure!! Quickly stop them, men!!"

The ten guards looked at each other, not sure what to do. But Lucas still didn't pay them any mind as he came up to the stone door, Pressed his hands flat against the right side door, and gave it a mighty push. It opened much more straightforward than he thought it would.

Walking in, Lucas found piles of raw gold ore and silver that were probably meant for their currency.

Although they didn't have enough room for everything, They still stuff as much gold as they could into a hemp sack, which looking at the other oddities in the room. Rex found himself four decent axes that had an incredibly sharp glint at their edge. Just from looking, you could feel it cutting you.

The old blacksmith just ignored everything, content with his forging hammer already in his hand.

Lucas walked towards the back of the vault and saw several rolls of extravagant looking cloth, wondering how these primitive Mole men managed to acquire it... A roll of white fabric with high strength. Lucas couldn't even make a tear in it, and a blue roll that seemed to have stars in it.

Turning back to his new companions, Lucas saw a small door partly open with what seemed to be a library.

Walking in quick steps into the library, the dust was stirred and clouded the air. It must have been a long time since anyone has been in here. In the center of the room was a small round coffee table with some very dusty looking chairs. Walking to the table, Lucas picked the only book lying on the surface and looked at the cover.

Intrigued by the cover, Lucas opened by the front page, and his eyes rounded by the first set of words. "How to kill a God."
