Chapter 170 - To Summon a Member

Once I have obtained the Blood Contract from Alex, I take out his Employment Contract and examine the terms within one last time just to make sure everything is in order.

Alex has a check too since he cannot remember clearly what he had signed, but he was sure that what he had signed was not a Slave Contract. It is not, as I consider Alex to be a friend instead of a tool. Not a disposable tool at least.

I sell the Employment Contract to the Shop System afterwards, and unlike all the items that I have sold to the Shop System previously, I reject the price quoted by the Shop System.

This is now possible thanks to my higher prestige level. Selling unending amount of junks does increase my prestige a little bit – only a little bit. And overtime, it has reached the level that allows me to barter with the Shop System.

Still a very long way to go before I can unlock the Black Market, however.

With the power to barter, I can now accept or reject the price offered by the Shop System. More than that, I can also set my own selling price. Of course, the Shop System will not buy items at prices above its quoted price, but that does not mean someone else would not.

The Shop System is merely a conduit, and it caters to countless beings. Most of which are players with Merchant or similar classes. Aside from few exceptional individuals, the rest are deity-class beings.

And it is these beings that I am trying to appeal to.

Once I have set a new price – just higher than the quoted price by 1GP, I begin my waiting game. Sadly, it is the best I can do right now, and sometimes, Luck plays a major role. Thus, I need to get Stellar into my pocket. Her power can offset the odd in my favor.

"So, what's now –

Before Alex could finish his sentence, he collapses forwards and crashes against me.

Alex is out cold, and it is not as simple as that, for his Soul is not where it supposed to be. Finding out that Alex has lost his Soul would have alarmed me if it wasn't for what I am trying to do. Since his Soul is no longer with his body, I can safely assume that he has been transmigrated or reincarnated.

Good, and I notice that Alex is greyed out on the Party Window.

That is exactly what I was hoping for, and after counting in my mind to exactly one minute, I take out the Blood Contract and activate it. The instant that I did, the Contract restores any severed connection, allowing Alex to become part of my Party again.

"Zan!? Thanks God. I mean fuck him. I mean get over here and help me!" Alex immediate make use of the Intercom. "Hey!? You there, Zan? Help me, you fucker! This is your idea! Your idea! You hear!?"

Alex keeps on talking through the Intercom without delay, and sometimes, his voice actually overlaps each other, making me smile. This is because there is only one reason for that to happen.

"Calm down, Alex," I tell Alex calmly. "Use the Member Summon on the Party Window to summon me to where you are. It should be possible because of the Blood Contract you have signed."

And within the next instant, I find myself staring at an extremely obese young man. "Alex? Oh… wow! You really let yourself go, didn't you? Hahaha!"
