Chapter 147 - Revising the Terms

I allow the group to read through the new contract hovering in front of them, and they are all appalled by the revised terms of the contract. They are no longer simply signing away their freedoms, but their rights as well.

"Your indecisiveness will not be overlooked," I announce. "A slave can live a good life if they do what they are told without questions. You all on the other must do far more than that if you wish to survive what is to come, but simply ask –

"This is bullshit! I'm not signing something like this!"

I eye the woman, and the System Window in front of her disappears, making everyone else tenses up.

"As I was saying, you should ask yourself what your life truly worth," I continue. "If you are dead, that will be that. But if you live, you can always regain what you have lost. The choice is up to you. Most of you, as someone is too stupid to understand."

It does not take long for everyone else to sign the contract, accepting their new fate. Some might think there is no need to abide by the terms of the contract, but they will find out how binding the contract really is.

"Thank you for your business," I speak up after all the System Window vanishes. "You will find yourself in a much safer place than here."

With that, everyone vanishes, leaving a single person behind, and she collapses onto the floor in utter shock and despair. She tries to say something, but I am not going to bother to listen.

"You should go back to the others," I tell her and then disappears. Whatever happen next, there is no need for me to know, but I will find out when I return there to set up a Trading Post. Maybe then, the others are more inclined to accept my offers.

I return to my original body as soon as the surrounding changes. I then sell the avatar to regain some GPs, as recycling is a very good thing. I take out all the new contracts, and they appear in the form of scrolls.

Some are in different colors than the others to differentiate the different types of contracts. Only one contract is on good terms, and that belongs to Alex. He has not mention anything about this yet, but I am sure he will when he remembers.

As that is the case, I will bring it up to him.

"Alex," I call out via the Intercom, and it takes a moment for him to response since he was busy doing something. Most likely forming his Magic Core and its first ring. That would put him on the same level as me in term of Magical Power.

"What's up? Your mother is fine by the way," Alex speaks up. "I wonder if my parents are okay too?"

"They should be," I reply, as I remember where Alex's parents are. They are on a business trip together, or maybe separate. It really depends on how their relationship is going.

Alex isn't the only person who live in a dysfunctional family. I am as well, as my father is never home while my older sisters are off to God knows where. This is one of many things we have in common.

"I am thinking about selling your Contract to the Shop System, Alex," I inform him.
