Chapter 144 - No Witnesses Allowed

More annoyingly, they double up as witnesses, and I should never leave any witnesses alive since they would undoubtedly cause problems for me (and my future associates) later on, directly or indirectly.

And while it is true that no one here knows my true identity, someone will eventually figure it out with the smallest clue and connection. There are plenty of smart people out there, and that is a compliment of sort.

Therefore, it is just safer to kill everyone present, as the dead usually do not blab things they shouldn't talk about. I should also burn down the whole building after looting everything for good measure, just like I had done so when the Hive Mind attacked on the military outpost.

It is for the best.

Of course, the alternative is to turn them all into my slaves. With the power of the contract, I can stop anyone from saying anything they should not have even under torture. Having their contract also allow me to take their life if needed be, as that is no longer belongs to them.

Maybe enslaving them is better, as I am in need of slaves to do my biddings without questions. There is no such thing as enough slaves, and I can't say no to free labors. Also, I rather not drop my fame for killing unarmed civilians unnecessarily.

The System is always watching, and it is judging my actions.

Before I deal with the baggage (witnesses), I should deal with those who cannot follow a simple order, either they are deaf or too stupid to understand. In either case, it would be better for them to become XP for Alex, Amaterasu or Magneto instead.

And with that decision in mind, I move at a speed that the eyes cannot follow. It takes a lot of Spiritual Energy to do so, but I have plenty in reserve within this avatar.

In an instant, I return to the spot where I was standing just a moment ago, and from the perspectives of the others within the room, I happen to just blur a little bit. Just like when my hand blurred when I decapitated that armed guy for pointing his weapon at me.

The men who have their hands up collapse onto the floor and spill their insides out, and those kneeling falls backwards in fear after seeing what had just happened to their partners in crime. They are unable to process what had just happened despite all the evidences are there.

"I said that I would kill you if you do not kneel," I point out, and the hostages kneel immediately even though the demand is not directed at them.

I am still going to call them hostages, as they are hostages – my hostages, and once I cast a brief glance at everyone, I turn my attention back to the vault. Time for some looting.

And it is as simple as touching everything inside the vault, stashing them into my Inventory. Gold. Yup. Money. Yup. Bonds. Yup. Deposit Boxes. Yup. Everything. And I do mean everything.

Once I am done, I head to the Lockers and Storages section to resume looting while everyone watches me. They are still kneeling, as I have not bothered to tell them otherwise. From their faces, all of them are terrified out of their mind. And they should be, for the world they knew has changed.

It doesn't take long to go through the lockers and storages, as I just dump everything straight into my Inventory for sorting later. I then eye everyone and then bring up a slave contract for them to sign.
