Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, I notice that the sun has frozen in place. Not exactly frozen, but it is descending very slowly into the horizon. So slowly that it might as well be frozen to most people.
But of course, there is a reason for that.
Time within the Zone has become so distorted that the outside world appears to be moving very slowly to the point that it looks like everything has come to a standstill. For time to distort this much means that quite a lot of people have perished already.
From memory, the less survivors remain within the Zone, the faster time flows within it. And from the perspective of an observer outside the Zone, they would see everything within the Zone moving at an absurd speed to the point of blurring.
While that is not a problem for the survivors within the Zone, the stretching of day and night is.
Night is much more dangerous than day, and this night will be the longest ever. The night after will be even longer, and so will the night after that. It is an unending vicious cycle.
There will be a time when the day and night cycle would take years to complete, and that results in all sort of problems. Burning daytime and frozen nighttime for example.
In such conditions, only the truly strong can survive. And that is probably the true purpose of the Zone – to weed out the weak. The punishment for everyone being weak and perishing is quite deadly.
Knowing what will happen within the Zone if the Dungeon remains unmolested and uncontested, it is the right choice to make use of the Subway Station again.
And of course, with what I know now, I can make that place even more secure and habitable.
But I should not worry about that yet, and I come to a stop at the largest bank within the city. One of several banks within the city, all ready for me to loot and profit.
Unlike the Museum before, the contents within the banks belong to individuals, and those individuals might all be dead or monsterified, allowing me to claim ownerships.
I can only hope.
And that sounds kind of evil, so I drop the thought and drop myself off the rooftop. Being an expert of the Martial Realm really help in softening my landing. I can barely feel the weight of the impact despite the ground shattering.
The same goes for the iron bars that prevent me from entering the bank. Once through the bent iron bars, I unbend them to prevent any monster from getting any idea. Although it might be a good thing to run into them, as I can help Alex with their XP.
In any case, I have been to this bank with mother before, so I know the layout to the lobby, and seeing how smashed up it is, I had thought that someone had crashed their car through it.
Considering that the bank is under lockdown due to the iron bars, the culprits for the mess are already inside the bank. Or perhaps, they are the one who had activated the lock down protocol. Too bad that no one is coming for the rescue.
I mean no one asides from me, and I'm not here to rescue anyone. I am just here for the money, golds, jewelries and more, so whoever still alive here, please don't mind me.
