Chereads / One Last Merchant / Chapter 114 - Of Master and Slaves

Chapter 114 - Of Master and Slaves

Not all the men believe in what I am selling, and I respect their opinion.

It is also because I do not have the time or the energy to convince them all otherwise. And besides, in my eyes, they are already dead men, and if they prefer to be dead than serving me for the rest of their life, then so be it.

"So be it," I speak my mind and dismiss the System Window hovering in front of them, basically taking back the contract. "By the way, in my line of business, there are things that only the dead should know, so I hope you understand."

Before any of them can response, I pull back Magento to shield myself only. In doing so, it feels like a betrayal of sort to the men. I do not believe it is, as I am not their friend or ally. I have implied this fact many times already, and they have also never considered me as such. I am, after all, merely conducting business.

"Merchant! You bastard!" some of the men manage to curse me before dying under a sniper round. I am quite impressed at the unseen enemy, as they execute each and every person in the room without a hint of hesitation.

Not quite unseen, as I know the general direction of the sniper, and of course, they will have to do far more better than that to penetrate my magic barrier and get to me.

While I do love to hunt down the sniper, it is pointless to do so. They might be considered a close end, but it should be fine, considering the fact that no one know my true identity. And this include the Hive Mind itself.

Of course, the Hive Mind has seen me in action, and therefore, it will take precaution against me due to my power level. To be able to wipe out the infected and drones with a single attack, that makes me a threat. A significant threat.

I look at the Amaterasu for a moment and use it to unleash another torrent of black flames. While the flames burn everything within the building into ash and cinder, erasing all sort of evidences, I teleport away.

The surrounding changes for me, and once I get my bearing, I come face to face with a total of 14 men – they are all that remains of the Major's force. I wonder how she learn of this. It will probably be the same moments before her death.

"Merchant –

I raise my hand, and he is lost for words, literally. He cannot speak unless I allow him to do so, all due to the contract that he has signed. That all of them have signed.

"You will speak when you are spoken to," I state and look around the enclosed room. "And there is no need for me to explain to you anything. Not anymore. What you are now are essentially my slave, and if you believe otherwise, you are feel to challenge me."

"Slave!? What the fuck!?"

More than a few challenges me, and they immediately collapse onto the ground, gasping desperately for air. Some even manage to aim their weapon at me, but they quickly found they cannot shoot me.

"It seems that some disciplines are in order," I state and the room rumbles ominously.
