Chapter 74 - Not a Waste of Time

The Major is a bit sceptical about my claim but grants me permission regardless. Not that I needed her permission to make the door disappears, as I am not going to sell the door to the Shop System for easy money.

It does not worth much at all in term of GPs, so there is really no point.

Unlike the Shop System, there is no ownership restriction for items I place into my Inventory. I can put anything and everything into it, as long as the items in question meet certain weight and size limits.

Those limits are not as restricting as I level up my Merchant class, however. At higher level, I can do a lot more with the Inventory, as it is actually unique to my class as a Merchant. And at certain level, the Inventory actually transforms into something else entirely.

Reaching that level will be insanely difficult. Of course, it is doable as I have done it already.

"Alright. Stand back and be ready," I warn the Major and her men before placing my hand flatly onto the steel vault door and concentrate.

It is not as simple as willing it and it is done. No. Doing that might actually send the entire vault and all its content into my Inventory, thus effectively killing anything biological within.

Therefore, I have to trace out the door and only the door. It takes some mental efforts, and once I am certain I have only the door, I attempt to place it into my Inventory. It vanishes into thin air before all those who are watching, leaving being the hinges and locks.

Not a perfect trace but still a good enough trace.

And since I have plenty of room to spare within the Inventory, I just left the steel door in there. I might make use of it in the future as a weapon since the Inventory can be used as a launching platform. One hell of a launching platform.

The Major and men immediately takes aim at the inside of the unlit massive vault. They were already prepared before, but they are more now due to the trail of bloods within. And that could be due to an injured person inside. Or it could be something worse.

Several bodies launch at the Major and her men, and those bodies crash against a hail of bullet. Those same bullets punch holes in a lot of items within the vault, making me wince.

Although the Shop System accepts damaged items, their values are significant less than if they are still in their pristine conditions. Of course, it does not matter for items that are already damaged in their original state.

"Are we too late?" one of the soldiers speaks up, noticing the feral people bleeding out and twitching on the floor. From their extremely aggressive behaviour, they are suffering from the same rabies virus that the Major and her men had suffered moments ago.

Of course, in their case, they cannot be saved.

I shake my head to answer the unsaid question from the Major, and she immediately executes those feral people with a handgun. A few shots to the head seem to put them down. Since she does not use her power, she is assessing how much firepower requires to take down them. It is a good idea.

"Well, this is a waste of time," I comment. That isn't true since I have gained tons of Wealth.
