After exchanging a few words and expressing his gratitude to Aiden, Miguel finally bid his farewell as well.
And with that being said, the two young men both went on their own and took separate ways
Since everything seemed to be settled now, and everything was good to go, Aiden no longer waste any of his time and decided to head back straight to his apartment
This would actually be Aiden's first time returning home after that night in the town graveyard where he met the Queen of Darkness.
Thinking about it, Aiden could not help but feel that his life was really turned upside down over the course of the past few days.
At the same time, he also could not help but noticed that the time he spent during the past few days felt like it was far longer than a day usually was.
Truth be told, it even seemed to him that those days were actually like the longest days that he had ever experienced ever since he was born!
There were indeed a lot of inconceivable things that happened to him lately, which made him feel like as if he spent eternity during all those days
But in reality, only ten days had passed since his first creepy encounter, which was to meet Nathalia.
"UHRG!!!"
Aiden clawed his hair in exasperation and messed it up even more due to sheer frustration.
Thinking about everything that happened to him lately, was enough to give Aiden tons of headaches that could last him for a lifetime
No matter how hard he tried to process his thoughts, he still could not accept the fact that he unknowingly ended up getting married to the Queen of Darkness.
It was indeed a hard pill to swallow!
As such as soon as he reached his apartment, he immediately set his mind into action.
Normal people would usually look for a comfortable bed to rest after a long exhausting day.
But Aiden was different, he ain't got time for that!
Instead of giving his body a good rest just like what it was actually craving for that time, he chose to do something else and started rummaging his own closet.
With nothing in particular in his mind, Aiden took as many clothes as he could get from the closet and tried to fit as many of them inside his black duffel bag.
Aiden did everything in all haste as if he was racing against time.
"I have to leave this darned place, by hook or by crook! I have to go somewhere. Anywhere, but not here! Wherever it is, as long as it was far as possible from her."
He muttered under his breath in a way as if he was reciting a mantra while trying to stuff his bag with as many clothes as he could.
It was only when the bag was already close to exploding to the point that he could no longer zip it up, did Aiden finally stopped stuffing it with his items.
And without wasting another second he immediately dashed towards his door and went straight down the stairs with the intention of leaving the place for good.
The first thing that Aiden noticed as soon as he went outside was about how empty the road was.
Everything was dead silent, and only the sound of crickets that seemed to be coming from a far off distance could be heard in the background.
But since it was already around eleven o'clock in the evening when Aiden and Miguel were actually allowed to leave the precinct that night, that was to be expected.
And considering the travel time from the precinct going back to his dorm as well as the time that he spent packing his things, it was safe to assume that the current time was already close to midnight.
If there was one thing that Aiden got as consolation at that time, that would be the street lights.
The money that the taxpayers like him used to pay to the government was obviously being put into good use.
Because all the street lights in their block were actually working fine and they were enough to illuminate the road very well as if it was broad daylight.
Which made walking down an empty road in the middle of the night, a less creepy vibe.
