Chapter 20 - CLICK CLICK

'CLICK! CLICK!'

"I know this sounds crazy. But I am just telling you exactly what I saw that night at the town graveyard, just like you asked me. I told you, I saw the Queen of Darkness and her zombie priestess there and then they forced me to marry her. Then the next thing I know, I have been a sleeping beauty in six days... I know that it could be just a dream or a hallucination from all the drugs that had been infected to me over the past few days. At least that would make sense. I am not crazy!"

'CLICK! CLICK!'

"It was actually a good sign that you were actually aware of yourself that what you saw could be either a dream or hallucination. In that case, you are still not beyond my scope. But you should also be aware that seeking help from a professional like a psychiatrist does not necessarily mean that you are automatically a mental patient nor we think that you are crazy. Treatment like this was done to assist those patients who might be experiencing post-traumatic symptoms. Okay??? Now tell me about this child that you were talking about."

'CLICK! CLICK!'

"Doctor, I told you, that was different. I was completely wide awake when I saw the child and I clearly saw him sitting at the corner watching over me at the ward."

Aiden was not sure how he could explain himself when he was reminded about the child that disappeared out of thin air.

But he still tried his best to recount the situation just like how he remembered it.

"At first, I thought that one of my visitors brought that child so I did not mind him. But I noticed that the child looked like he needed something from me so I thought that he was feeling sick. Yet no one was bothering to look after him because everyone was busy assisting me thinking that I was not fine. So I thought about reminding my visitors about his presence so whoever among them brought the child with him, then he could take care of the child and see what he needed. But then they told me that they don't see any child at all."

CLICK!!!! CLICK!!!! CLICK!!!! CLICK!!!! CLICK!!!! CLICK!!!!

The sound of pen clicking continued to resound in the background as the annoying nurse who was standing just behind Aiden continuously pressed at the top of his retractable ballpoint.

Whilst the doctor, however, remained silent after exchanging a few words with him.

Then as part of the normal norm, the other party jotted down on his journal to keep a record for the session that they had for that day.

It has been three days already since Aiden woke up and from then on, he was already having a regular one on one session to one of the resident psychiatrists of the hospital, Dr, Coolman.

'CLICK! CLICK!'

"Now, Mr. Jones. One last thing, before we wrap things up for today. Tell me about this annoying nurse that you mentioned before. The one that you claimed to meet in my office after our first session. Can you please tell me more about him?"

When Dr. Coolman was done jotting down at his journal, he got back at Aiden and asked him again.

Raising his gaze to look straight at his patient's eyes, he waited for his answer.

"Good. I was actually waiting for you to ask me about him. Can you please tell him to stop doing it????"

Aiden said in a whisper trying to make his voice as low as possible so only Dr. Coolman could hear him.

'CLICK! CLICK!'

"Doing what??? Can you please be more specific about it???"

"Uhrrggg!!!! THAT ONE!!!!! He kept on making that sound from his ballpen. Even when I was trying to sleep last night! He doesn't care at all if he was disturbing me or not. Why do you even have him followed me around even after our session??? It was so annoying!"

Unable to hold himself back anymore, Aiden blurted as he looked behind him and pointed at the annoying nurse.

But the nurse just smiled back at him, before it started to walk towards the window.

"Hey?? What happened at the back of your head??? Are you okay"

Aiden asked in panic when he noticed that the other party has a large wound at the back of his head and it was bleeding profusely. There was even some dried blood already that clotted his hair.

Yet the nurse never bothered answering him and instead continued to walk towards the open window as if he did not hear him ask in the first place.

What are you doing???? No! Wait! Don't do that! Hey!!!!"

Aiden's eyes went on big circles when he saw the nurse slowly leaned down to the windowpane, until half of his body was already outside the open window, dangling on the open air.

"STOOOOOOP!!!!"

He tried to run after the nurse but it was too late.

The nurse already fell from the window!!!

Did he really have to go the extent of committing suicide just because he was told to stop playing with his ballpen?!!!!

Aiden frustratingly asked aloud as he nervously looked down from the same window where the nurse just fell.

Considering that they were currently on the fourth floor of the hospital building, that nurse would already be said to be lucky if he managed to survive the fall.

WHAT THE HECK!!!!

Aiden was expecting to see a gory image as well as a commotion due to a tragic fall below the window once he looked down. But to his greatest shock, there was none at all!

NO nurse. No blood, no commotion at all!

'How did he survive the fall from this height??!!!'

He muttered to himself in disbelief then he looked back at Dr. Coolman.

"Doctor??? Call an emergency! Your nurse just jumped down from your window. What are you doing??? Why are you just standing there??!!!!!"

Aiden said in agitation when he saw that Dr. Coolman was watching him with a dumbfounded expression.

Isn't he a doctor?

Should not he be the one to act and think faster in this kind of situation????

Yet there he was, frozen on the same spot like a fool after witnessing his nurse committing suicide right before his eyes.

To be honest, Aiden was already starting to doubt this doctor's credibility

It took another few more seconds before Dr. Coolman finally recovered from his trance and nodded his head as if another realization dawned on him.

The situation needed urgent attention yet Dr. Cooman did not seem to mind at all.

When the other party started to walked closer to his desk, Aiden thought that Dr. Cooman would at least going to call an emergency number or something to get someone's help

But his dismay, what Dr. Coolman did was he tried to reach out for his journal again and once more, scribbled something in it.

"Errr?????"

"Doctor?? What are you doing?!!!!"

Aiden shouted in panic this time, but Dr. Coolman just looked at him calmly and said,

"Alright, Mr. Jones. It seemed to me that you were really starting to see things that others don't see. I'll talk to your guardians about this. Don't worry, what is happening to you right now, was all normal. Just forget about what you saw. Because just like you said yourself before, everything that you were seeing was just part of an aftereffect of all the drugs that had been injected to you in the hospital when you were unconscious for six days. It will be over, and you will be okay once the effect of the medicine subsided."

With that, Dr. Coolman diminished their session that day
