"I am Dr. Lyca Manigo and I am the head of the Ophthalmology Department. May I know how should I address you?"
"Oh, yup. My name is Aiden. Aiden Jones. Sorry for the late introduction. Please to meet you, Dr. Manigo."
Aiden replied as he tried his best not to stutter. Then he extended his arm to exchange a handshake with the other party, to which Dr. Manigo accepted right away.
"No worries."
The doctor told Aiden with a kind smile before she asked him back again.
"I'm just curious though, may I know how do you become acquainted with Ms. Salcedo? I was just wondering how you two were related to one another? From what I know, she had no relatives in town and she lived on her own."
"Oh?! I--I am... uhmmm... I am a friend of a friend. Her fiance is a friend of mine."
Aiden made that up on the spot with a straight face, but the doctor did not seem to buy it.
