Chapter 154 - Sora's potential

The disciples of the Moonlight Cult glanced towards their Cult Master, seeking his opinion before making a move.

"Don't even hesitate to use your full strength from the start, Sora isn't as simple as he seems on the surface." That was the message the Moonlight Cult transmitted to them.

The disciples of the Moonlight Cult nodded their heads as ten daggers orbited behind their backs, similar to the way Gusion executed it, but the difference between the quality of their daggers and strength was perceived through the difference in the pressure created.

"The six of you can team up against the other five, I'll take on their top disciple and zone him out," Sora suggested with a decisive tone that made the others follow his orders willingly. Sora was more than just a senior to them, he was their big brother.

Sora always stood up for them when they got into trouble, he would protect them at all costs even if it meant being humiliated. But when they made mistakes, Sora would be the one to punish them, but when they saw the anguishing pain on his face when punishing them, they would tear up, why was he willing to go to such limits?

"Because I see all of you as my younger brothers."

Sora then walked towards the disciple of the Moonlight Cult, whose cultivation base and presence stood out from the rest. A Martial Lord Eight Realm with a flawless cultivation base, enabling his cultivation aura to even challenge the weakest Martial Kings.

"Aldo's my name, remember my name, for I'll be the person who crushes you under my feet." The top disciple of the Moonlight Cult, Aldo, said casually as he took out his weapon, which was also a sword.

"It seems like you've stepped into the Sword Ancestor Realm as well, is there any chance that your blood satisfies my sword?" Sora asked as the sword he was gripping, glowed scarlet and caused a bloodsucking phenomenon.

"You're a dual sword law cultivator that stepped into the Sword Ancestor Realm?" Aldo's confident aura was swept away instantly as he took a step back instinctively, but when he remembered the trump card he had to escape if needed, he heaved a sigh of relief, the rest should be able to handle the battle quickly and assist me. That was his belief.

The difference in the various sword realms has puzzled Ace for long enough, as he finally made the decision to ask the system.

"System, what are the different cultivation realms for a Sword Master?"

"A Sword Master refers to someone who has cultivated their first cultivation law and infused it into their sword; those who don't infuse it into a weapon are then known as Elementalists that rarely exist in the cultivation world due to peculiar reasons.

A Sword Ancestor refers to someone who has cultivated two cultivation laws and infused it into their sword, creating a new law that allows two different laws to coexist. From here on, the Sword Ancestor Realm is then divided into three different stages.

The first stage is the Sword Intent Realm, whereby a Sword Ancestor cultivator would be able to become one with their sword, thus creating a sword move unique to that particular Sword Ancestor.

The second stage is the Sword Heart Realm, in which a Sword Ancestor can use their Sword Heart to replace their eyes, being able to discern the lies and illusions with their pure heart.

The final stage is also known as the Sword Creation Realm. This is when a Sword Ancestor will attempt to absorb a sword into their body and become one with it, thus creating a new life and bloodline of the higher nobility, this is also the reason why some cultivation families and races can stand at the peak for years to come.

After that, it's the Sword Supreme Realm."

The system stopped explaining here.

Ace closed his eyes to digest the information briefly as he thought to himself, I still have a long way to go, especially when I have yet to even comprehend the nature of the Nirvana Flames Law.

The Nirvana Flames Law was definitely a cultivation law that possessed incredible potential. Firstly, it derived its strength from the fire element, one of the five elements that the world couldn't do without. Secondly, it possessed the strength to rebirth infinitely and grow, just like how a Phoenix would be able to gain strength through their death.

In the meantime, Sora was already showing Aldo the difference between their strength. With just a slash of his that didn't require much effort, a red streak of light could be seen colliding against Aldo's sword that glowed green, but the destructive power within Sora's sword wasn't just for show, as the second burst of strength sent Aldo sliding backwards.

Aldo stabbed his sword into the ground in an attempt to stop himself, yet he found himself powerless against this knockback force, leaving him with no choice but to expend a chunk of his spirit energy immediately.

"Moonlight enchantment, the uniqueness of feathers."

The next moment, Aldo's body took off into the sky for a brief moment before he landed back down, but it had already given him enough time to stabilize himself.

Without wasting a single second, Aldo made use of another moonlight enchantment to strengthen himself and a secondary enchantment to increase his reaction speed, allowing him to exchange moves with Sora evenly.

Sora glanced towards his juniors, who had gained the slight upper hand with their numbers advantage, spirit energy infused into his sword as he executed a whirlwind slash that encompassed enough spirit energy to break through Aldo's spirit energy body protection, his sword slicing through Aldo's chest all the way to his abdomen, which he followed with a kick that sent him out of the platform.

Battle between the two elites was decided.

The victor was Sora.

The battle had ended in a matter of mere seconds even though the two exchanged countless moves.

"System mission has been updated."

Details: System's rewards have been increased, the host will have to defeat the Absolute Sword Sect to complete the current quest and unlock the second part of this mission.

Ace clicked his tongue softly, but still remembered the goal he had to accomplish to complete the quest. The difficulty might have been increased, but so did the rewards, even if he was given a chance, he was sure that he would take the gamble.

The Moonlight Cult Master recalled his disciples and forfeited the battle, using his capabilities as a Martial Saint to communicate with his disciples through telepathy, "It's fine, Sora wasn't one you guys could mess with, to begin with, the only reason you guys were requested to challenge him, was so we could execute our next plan."

The Moonlight Cult Master chuckled within his heart as he looked towards the vast sky, that was soon loomed over by dark clouds that seemed to carry the element of water, casting a gloomy look on the cultivators that were anticipating the finals, but within the thick cover of the sombre clouds, a slit allowed a beam of sunlight to slip past.

Ace and the Absolute Sword Master looked towards each other as they said, "Let's carry out the battle under the rain."

"Still, there's no way my disciples can contend against Sora." Ace sighed as he looked towards the Absolute Sword Sect Master and Sora who was approaching them.

"Father, I believe that we share the same thoughts," Sora said with a smile as he stood beside the Absolute Sword Sect Master.

"Did he just call the Absolute Sword Sect Master his father?"

"I'm not hearing things am I?"

"Sora is actually the successor of the Absolute Sword Sect?"

The crowd were all surprised by this, which resulted in the Absolute Sword Master having to step out to explain himself, "All of you have misunderstood the situation, Sora only addressed me as his father because I took him in when he was young, to be more precise, I'm just a foster father of his.

The Absolute Sword Sect Master then looked towards Sora as the two exchanged gazes, "I'm sure that no one present knows about this, but the Nirvana Sect Master is only fifteen years old right now. He's the only one worthy of being Sora's rival, which is why I have a suggestion."

"The final battle shall be between the Nirvana Sect master and I. Nirvana Sect Master, do you accept my challenge?" Sora asked with his sword unsheathed, revealing the sharp blade that has been hidden the entire time.

"Of course, I accept your challenge." Ace confirmed with a smile as he unsheathed his sword, revealing the Phoenix Sword and allowing it to glow crimson to its brightest extent.
