A week flew by in the blink of an eye and it was the day, Mian came back to Beijing as First People's Hospital offered her to be their head neurosurgeon. The hospital's reputation was good and it ranked number one in Beijing.

It was every aspiring doctor's dream to work in that hospital. However, Mian accepted it solely because she loved the hospital's beautiful, mind refreshing surroundings and environment.

Mian drove past many multistorey buildings slowly, looking at the navigation system. She put pushpins on the 'Zhang Residential' for it to be spotted, even when the map was zoomed in and out in order to have the basic grasp of the area in a brief look.

The previous city mayor tore down all the old buildings, and caused reconstruction for the area.

Mian personally thought the mayor was chauffeured around to reconstruct this area by some businesses driven spirits. However, needless to say, constructed to the highest quality, this high-end residential area offered many facilities. This salubrious block was a delightful escape from the dust, noise and pollution.

A white building stood at the far end of the road in front of Mian; and it looked tall enough to dwarf all other buildings around it. The edifice was forty-story, with a brown-themed, square, modern front porch in the south on the top floor; a space to allow the tenants of the top floor to enjoy a cup of coffee, and feast their eyes on the city spread out beneath them.

Mian stopped her car in front of a forty storey building, 'Zhang Residential' was written in crimson letters. She rented a five room's apartment here. Even though the rent was exorbitant, Mian didn't care as long as the neighborhood was neat and clean, calm and quiet, it was worth it.

As A Mercedes Maybach S-class slowly moved towards the gate, the gatekeepers hurriedly opened it. Mian parked her car in the underground parking lot and got out of it.

She was clad in a pair of high waisted blue jeans and a white top which accentuated her curves perfectly. With a messy bun, and a pair of white sneakers, the look was very casual, yet fully capable of captivating eyes.

She made her way to the reception area, blind to the goggling eyes channeled her way by the men around her. "Li Mian, 40th floor, Room No. 2 please."

Mian was ravishingly beauteous face, and stunning hot figure in accordance to the each and every standard known to the glamour world. However, she tried to play-down her beauty as much as possible with no make-up, and covered-up clothing, as it threw a lot of nuisance, and gossips in her way.

"Welcome to Zhang Residential!" The receptionist greeted Mian delightedly with her usual big smile. Then, the touch of astonishment lit up her eager face, seeing Mian up-close. "Are you a foreign actress? I mean, you are so pretty! I've never seen this beautiful girl before! Which country are you from?" She was full-throated in admiration of Mian's beauty.

A gentle smile made its way from Mian's lips to her eyes. "I'm a neurosurgeon, a native Chinese, not any foreign actress."

The receptionist looked surprised for a moment. How could such a beauty be a neurosurgeon?!

"Ah, room no 4002, please." Mian reminded politely, her smile and eyes were bright and charming.

The receptionist hurriedly drew out a ring of the keys from a drawer, she handed it over to Mian immediately, then said, "If you don't like anything there, feel free to inform us. We will change it according to your taste, Miss."

"No need. I have already seen the apartment, and I like it the way it is now. After a while, some people will come to deliver my stuff. Show them the way to my apartment please, thank you." Mian said and headed towards the elevator.

...

After entering her apartment, Mian smiled with satisfaction. This apartment was exactly to her liking.

It had three bedrooms, one small study which she would convert into her library, and one big Light-Filled contemporary living room.

The French-windows of the living room were naked for sunlight to stream through freely. It was a laid-back space with white paint and contemporary decor. Peach, catherine sofa provided the room a subtle, feminine vibe without being too glitzy, while the floor covering with pink undertones picked up on the sofa's peach-y hue.

The living space performed multi-role with the dining table in the right. A set of black-framed glass walls set apart the modern kitchen from the living room, without taking away the feel of bright, spacious space. It had white polished porcelain floors and dark brown cabinets, including a picture window that kept the kitchen bright.

All three bedrooms had their own bathroom. The one in the master bedroom was minimalist, yet fashion-forward. It had a modern wall mounted coffee-coloured vanity with double sinks, flat-panel doors and drawers. A walk-in shower with glass walls presented an uncluttered look, and airy appeal; beside it, was a white crisp bathtub.

In short, there was no lack of sunlight in the whole apartment. In accordance with Mian, nothing could be better than natural light in home decorating. The idea itself of sunlight in day, and moonlight at night breathed new life into the home. It was one of her top priorities in apartment-hunting.

When Mian was looking around her new apartment, her phone started ringing. The screen displayed Nina.

"Have you reached there?"

"Yup," Mian said playfully, popping out the sound 'P' then asked, "When are you visiting me?"

"Day after tomorrow, I told you to stay with me in my apartment. If you did, now you wouldn't have to miss me. See now, you are already missing me." Nina said, and sighed heavily. As if, she was a mother who forewarned her child about high-jump, and the child didn't listen, as an upshot, he ended up scraping his knees.

Mian burst into laughter. "First, you are too messy for a OCD patient like me and second, this place is nearer to the hospital."

Mian was so engrossed in the phone conversation that she didn't notice, when the door of her opposite apartment opened and a pair of eyes staring intently at her.
