PRINCE FOREST'S POV
It's almost a week since Amy was taken back to the human world by Sia who immediately went back to the Delta Kingdom before we even found out what happened.
A whole day was used to open the connection of our world to the human world, especially that the dust that Sia used was rare and looking for it will take a longer time, but the moment we arrived at Amy's house, she was not there. Only her hanging clothes and cooked food were left as evidence that she was definitely thrown back to the human world.
But the culprit, who pushed Sia to betray us, wasn't even trying to hide that he has her.
The Alpha Kingdom has sent a letter of invitation to a ball which will introduce a new royalty. It was obviously Amelia, but the question of why she's a royalty will be answered during the ball.
Prince Marin sent me a letter, saying that he used the lake of truth's spirit to connect with Amelia. They tried to tell her the memories she lost, but it was not a guarantee that it'll help her remember.
It was almost impossible to stop myself from going to the Delta Kingdom to confront Sia, but I had to. She's just a child. She was threatened.
I would be lying if I said I didn't almost destroy the hall where Amy was sent back to the human world. I was the reason why she sneaked out. She wanted to see me.
If only I spared some time to see her, if only I gave her attention.
"Your Highness, we have sent the letter of confirmation to the Alpha Kingdom," a maid said behind the door while I was sitting in my office with papers scattered in my room and desk.
I had to read those, but my attention was focused on Amy.
I'm worried if she's doing fine.
Is she eating well? Is she wearing warm clothes? Is she sleeping in a comfortable bed? Are they treating my Amy well?
I tried to send Fisher to the Alpha Kingdom, but knowing that empire, even a fast knight like Fisher wouldn't easily get to the castle.
Time went back fast, maybe because I trained hard for the past days and let my father handle the castle. I heard Sia and Prince Marin will come too, which means I have to face Sia. I just don't know how I'll be able to face her. I know what she did was against her will, I know Amy knew about it too, but still, because of her, Amy's lost.
Amy's maids and Mrs. Cephilia were given a vacation to have a break from what has been happening, while Regin spent his time to train since he insisted that I bring him to the ball.
Tonight, the ball will happen.
Tonight, I'll be able to see Amy again.
Tonight, I'll face Sorin.
Tonight, I'll end this.
But before I even left the castle, Aiven confessed something that he has been keeping for a long time about Amy.
He's my friend, my very best friend, yet he chose to hide something so important from me.
He was standing still beside my carriage, with his fist tightly close to his waist and eyes on the ground like a dog scared for its life.
"Amy knew who she was and her connection to the Alpha Kingdom," Aiven said in a faint low voice, as if he doesn't even want me to hear it, "She chose to hide it from you because--"
"Then why did you hide it from me?" I interrupted with a growling voice as I gaze over him with disappointment and anger.
Why does she always have to tell everything to Aiven? I was there. She could've told me that she knew, yet my friend even hid it from me.
"She's also my friend, Forest, I can't destroy her trust. It was important for her because you chose to keep everything a secret from her."
Aiven gathered his courage and looked straight into my eyes with a stance as if he was ready to attack, anger and frustration were painted on his crimson red eyes.
Yes, we chose to keep her identity a secret and it was to keep her safe. Her father suddenly disappeared right after he declared that his wife died, and left his daughter. It was enough for us to think that something was happening and it is connected to my mother's assasination.
We did it for her.
"She was just the knight's daughter, Aiven. The danger that she might be connected to my mother's assassination was the reason to keep her safe," I didn't move an inch, but I've been feeling an itch to hit Aiven on the face for some reason which makes my heart uncomfortably cold from the thought that Amy was keeping a secret with Aiven. It should've been a secret with me. She's my bride, not his.
But the moment I let out my last word, Aiven cracked a laughter as Regin walks towards us, ready for our flight to the Alpha Kingdom with his sword swaying on his waist.
"She's not just the infamous' knight's daughter, Forest," Aiven said as he shook his head while his laughter subsides, "We found out that she's somehow related to King Sorin. She's an Alpha. She's a Fevier."
It was not shocking to hear that she's related to King Sorin since he already announced that he will be presenting a new royalty which is likely to be Amy, but how did they found out? And how is she connected to him?
"How can you be so sure that she's a royalty?" I asked as Regin stares at Aiven with surprise.
Aiven arrived the moment the news broke out that Amy was missing, within a minute he was in the hallway with us, investigating. He was anxious, I thought because he was worried about Amy, turns out, he's not only worried about her safety, but it's also because of who she is.
"A lot happened, but she has the mark of a Fevier royalty, their fire-colored hair. They saw it in the lake of truth when Prince Marin removed the curse."
Another one who knew about Amy's identity arises, even that young Prince knew about it. Is it the reason why he sent the lake of truth fairy to Amy last week - to compensate from hiding the truth from me?
I hopped in the carriage and didn't bother looking at Aiven, "I'll take her back and we'll talk about this once we got home. I'll settle this tonight."
"You can't fight King Sorin, Forest," Aiven shouted as Regin enters the carriage followed by the door closing in front of Aiven, "You'll end up hurting everyone if you lose control."
"That's why I practiced," I whispered as the carriage began moving, leaving Aiven on the ground, watching us with worry on his face.
If only they told me about their knowledge on Amy's identity, this wouldn't have happened. I could've kept her safer.
But how is she related to King Sorin? Does mother know about this? I'm sure father has no clue or else he could've told me about it already.
"Your Highness," Regin called as we were flying above the kingdom, soaring towards the sun, "If Miss Amelia can't remember anything, how will we be able to take her?"
I watched the trees slowly disappear below us while the rough cold wind makes a light whisper on my ear.
"We'll do what we have to do. I'm pretty sure she won't resist if we explain everything to her," I said in confidence.
But if only I knew what King Sorin has done before the ball that destroyed my name and made it look as if Amy was surrounded by traitors, I wouldn't have spouted those words.
I was standing before her, Amy, whose hair was painted with the color of the bright sunset and fire. She has gotten much beautiful with the contrast of her skin with her hair, yet her eyes that were full of fear and anger broke my heart.
Her palms were letting out the rough fire as well as her surroundings.
"You pervert," she whispered as tears began to fall on her pale cheeks, "I can't believe I thought you can help me."
Regin was holding his sword, yet he wasn't pointing at her, he was just preparing himself to protect me.
I was frozen with my knees a bit bended and hands in front of me, surrendering to her.
We just arrived a few minutes before I stumbled upon Amelia who suddenly appeared from a turn in the end on of the hallway with a frantic and fearful look. Her hair was a bit messed up, and the sleeves of her beautiful silver gown were torn.
As I was about to stop her and ask what happened, she stared at me with a terrified look at first which shifted to hatred a second after, and without a word, it showed how strong she was. Within a second fire appeared around her, protecting herself from me.
"What happened, Amy?" I asked softly, watching her hand shake from fear.
"Don't call me Amy. After what you did, you're asking me that question? I should've burned you earlier."
What happened? I gazed at Regin who was assessin Amy's state. Judging her torn gown and messy hair, someone tried to do something awful to her.
Someone tried to touch her.
Someone terrified her to this point.
And someone used my identity to cause this.
